Important safety note from Canyon: the Spectral:ON CF / CFR and Torque:ON CF models may have damage to the battery

Talked to Canyon support today. They said the bike can't be returned under any circumstances except the 30 day return period and all I can do is wait for the battery to be replaced... Unbelievable. What a disgrace...

As expected, they didn't change anything in the battery, so I'm expecting the 2nd series of battery replacements, but most likely they will tell us that the cracks on the new batteries do not affect anything and we can continue to use the bike :)
If it’s Uk a safety recall = unfit for purpose which takes precedence over their T&C’s….. try CAB or martyn Lewis’s web site

Battery has apparently shipped. It turned up at the local depot at 1am today. Courier just rang to say they'll deliver it on Monday :rolleyes:

I received the new battery yesterday.

It took a while, but I'm satisfied.

All that's left is the €100 per month compensation.
 
The 900wh battery is enroute via Fedex for this Sunday delivery. They'll require a signature as well.
 
Finally I received the battery last Friday, from the outside is apparently identical and the only thing I could notice is the new one being aprox. 45 grams heavier. I completed couple of routes and all works perfectly as expected, autonomy is as previous battery and there are no vibrations or weird noises.

That’s a long time to wait for a plastic bag and a bit of sealant spray to be added to a battery…..
 
What an ordeal. Waited this long and received notification that Fedex was delivering the battery on Sunday and had to be grounded at home to sign for it. Well, close to 4pm I received another notification that it'd be delivered the next day which is today Monday. It's almost 3pm and no movement, so I called and was informed by the agent that it was still in transit and it would be delivered now on Tuesday. FEDEX FTW..............really suck. Yes, I realize that businesses get priority but come on.
 
Well, finally received the battery today. It looks no different other than the BT label. The two new bolts are identical based on a digital caliper. Hopefully, it'll be gtg and we'll see. Also, will see how long it takes Canyon to send the late shipment payment (after March 31st that is).

Just received the payment confirmation e-mail, no amount on it, just that it's confirmed and should be in my account within 7 - 10 days
 
I think that is something only time will prove.........the extra weight could equally be the addition of some strengthening bars on the inside of the case.
 
They have likely changed the composition material of the casing material to something less brittle and less prone to cracking. I would hope to fuck they have tested the changes thoroughly because I don't think they can afford a repeat of this episode.

I just got the same message today, unbelievable how they are dragging this out.
 
Well i got an email, stateing that i should recieve the order between the 9th and 20th june. so much for the end of May. It also states that its a tracked order, just wonder where they are sending it from, if its going to take weeks to arrive, via the moon......
 
I had an email on 26th May stating that my "Order is Confirmed" and saying new battery would be delivered between 26th May and 6th June. Nothing changed since then. Time has run out for Canyon as far as I'm concerned.

Don't know if they give different treatment depending of the country, I am so upset
 
I don't think it's based on Country. I could be wrong but think the fulfillment timing is based on when the order was placed. I placed my order in mid November and received my 900wh battery the week of May 20th. I also received my additional compensation last week.

Placed my order in November, Still haven't received a date. In fact the last email I got was the delay/compensation one. As soon as i get my new battery it's by by bike and I'm never dealing with this company again.
