Has anyone tried an extra battery like this? Can you suggest a solution?

I found this one on Alibaba and I'm thinking of buying it.
I'd like to try and increase the range by 20km.

It works. You just need a balancer. I'm currently building something similar, except I'm building my own battery for it. Unfortunately, I damaged my main battery during the process and had to make a new one :poop:

I hope you can resolve this and bring success to everyone. I don't think I'll take the risk then. Here in Brazil, it's difficult to find someone who makes batteries at a fair price.
 
You can't really go wrong. You need to extend the battery cable, plug it into the balancer, and run another cable back to the motor. Your bottle battery goes into the other connector on the balancer. Then it draws power evenly from both batteries. My mistake was that I wasn't paying attention when soldering the XT60 connector and I reversed the positive and negative terminals.
 
I was the same not being game to put a hole in my frame so I 3d printed a box to fit it in and super glued it to the top of the frame
I was also able to tidy the wiring by doing the connections inside the frame 👍

steering angle would suck

also is the rear not like 150 or 160mm ?

in this world where zebs are already good why would you put a dual crown on a emtb
Why am I going back to 27.5.
The specification says 27.5 with 180mm. I can't find any 180mm with a good price. I could use a dual crown with a sag for 180mm without problems. I believe the angle would be the same.
 
You get about 10 mm more travel on a dual crown for the same fork length which is nice, due to the lower crown taking up less space. And the ride feel on a dual crown is just different, the steering is more direct. I love the feeling for sure

I've recently replaced my controller and everything is working. However the bikes power and torque settings are a bit different to what they were originally.

Does anyone have screenshots of the BESST settings for the torque and battery settings?

I did the same thing to test and see how it would perform. In my case, I weigh 81kg, use SRAM type 90 10-51 and a 34-tooth chainring. Before, the range with my riding style was approximately 90/105km, arriving home with 8% battery remaining. After the change, it reduced considerably. The average is now 70km. At low speeds it improved significantly, but I couldn't reset my trip meter. It doesn't have that functionality, or I couldn't find it. The original has an extra button. I decided to put the original one back.

Can you state the fw that was on your broken controller and that now is on the new one? There are some differences when it comes to Bafang fw.. Also do you have M500, M600, M510, M560, M510 RS or M560 RS? 😂

I don't have it anymore. I left the new one at my beach house while waiting to buy another frame. The old one remains the same, same firmware.
