How do I make my 2022 Giant Reign rideable? 😂

The Hope cranks are great and really easy to install and come with everything. They are spendy compared to some brands but are still very nice. You want them in the "standard offset". The ones made for the specialized bikes will not work.

I like this idea of 155 cranks. What type would I be looking for to outfit my Reign?
I bought the cheapo Miranda 155 cranks to try to see if I liked them with the intention of upgrading to Hopes if I did. I'm totally sold on shorter cranks but I'm still riding the Mirandas and haven't felt the need to upgrade to Hopes yet (although it is still my plan to do it at some point). The Mirandas are absolutely fine though, just not very blingy.

I rode Miranda's on my Commencal for 2 years and eventually bent them (side hit to a rock at high speed). Still bought a pair for my Giant, even if I need to replace them every couple of years, I just don't see the point in fitting anything more expensive.

Any ISIS compatible cranks for an ebike.

Hi, 1st off I can totally see how the original post was "How do I make my 2022 Giant Reign rideable?"

So my previous bike was a Giant Reign X2, Coil Lyrik + Coil VAN RC. I bought my Reign E2 (2022 model) late last year for a knockdown price and have only really started riding it in the last couple of (summer months).

1st time out, few peddle strikes and a heavy dunt on the chain/chain ring.
2nd time out, hit the motor guard so hard it split and I had to buy another.

After this I changed the flip chip to High, changed the rear sag to 25% and put more air in the tyres.
Still I have so far never been out on a ride without losing a pedal pin.

I dont really care about pedal strikes as some of that is down to shit technique, but the BB seems ridiculously low.
1st time with air shocks for me and I`m wanting to stick more volume spacers in the back, could anyone tell me if I can do that with the shock still in the frame?

Interesting to see some people are advising to take the volume spacers out and run more PSI, as I said I am new to air cans, but that sounds counter productive to me, its not like I want it to be a hardtail.
At the moment the shock feels somehow both harsh AND bottoms out too easily. Any info is appreciated as I`m not impressed at the moment, the suspension feel of my old Reign was much better (admittedly I went up a couple of spring weights before I was totally happy with the rear). Obviously what I`m looking for is decent small bump sensitive while not bottoming out as soon as it sees a rock, am I expecting too much form the Fox Float X/low bb frame combo?
Thanks in advance

Rossco.

I have the same bike and I was getting a lot of pedal strikes when I first got it. What I finally did was set it to about 20% sag in the rear and that helped immensely I also stayed with 2.6 tires front and rear. I was still getting pedal strikes so I had to just change my technique and adjust how I rode through rock gardens and that helped a lot. I live in an area that is super rocky so it was a learning curve.

Have a look at my thread on "Raising the Reign".....it does help with peddle strikes.

Cheers bud, did you put many volume spacers in the rear shock?

I also have the 2022 E+2 model, hardly any pedal strikes… I ride in the “high” position, 30% SAG, 91kg with kit, no gap jumps, no backflips, plenty of black trails. Technique is “okay” at best.. 🤔

Well... I must add that today's ride I had 3 pedal strikes... 🙄 This is way more than the usual no strikes. I knew when I wrote the original reply that I was tempting the devil....
