Hello everyone,

It's that time of the year when I start planning upgrades for next summer season and I would like to inquire about a few things before making the final decision. So, I have an 2019 Comp Carbon and I would like to upgrade my suspension, front and rear. I currently have FOX DPS Performance, 210x52.5 and FOX 34 Rhythm and I would like to upgrade to FOX Float X2 210x55 and FOX Float 36E. I have a chance to buy a FOX Float X2 210x55 for a very good price and want to make sure it will won't cause any unnecessary frustration. The question that I have is; has anyone ever tried to install an 210x55 rear shock on a frame that was designed for 210x52.5? I am asking this because the bike has a flip chip that I can set for High and Low position. Would that work if I choose to install the 55mm stroke shock and have it intentionally and permanently locked in low position? Thoughts?

Thank you for your time everyone!

While I went with a 210x52.5, the shop where I bought my shock from says 210x55 is no problem. Also if you search here, you will find info of others that put the slightly longer stroke shock with no issues.

I run a 210x55 X2 on a 2020 Expert with no issues, even spoke to Specailized who said its no problem to fit and wont affect any warranty

Why are you going for the FOX 36E? (which use FOX 34 internals due to the 2mm thicker lowers compared to a normal 36)

I run a normal FOX 36 factory fork and it has been faultless the last two years and im hard on my suspension
