Forbidden Druid - Avinox Powered

Yeah I seem to feel the rear bottom out a bit more frequently than I would prefer. Nothing really harsh but it is on drops and impacts where I wouldn't expect it to so I am reluctant to push things further. The bottom out adjuster is set on the middle setting. If I go full firm it seems to take away much of the feeling I like off the top. So I guess I am just still playing around with everything trying to find the sweetest spot. Look the thing Flys I have set many dh prs already so no complaints here
I am in the same spot (albeit with 140mm and the super deluxe). The rear goes through travel more than I am used to. I find it more in the realm of "effective use of travel' vs. "blowing through it", but there isn't much in reserve even with HBO. Still.. the 140mm feels better than the 170mm I am currently running up front, which is saying something. Pop is good as well, and I added about 10psi yesterday which took away a bit of off the top sensitivity, but the pop was even better.

Regardless, I am still looking at my suspension options because this is a disease:)

75kg rider,
25-30% sag no more
hbo middle or -1
LSC middle or +1

this shock need air to avoid mid travel too loose and pedal strike

I had a great hit out today. Varied terrain. 28% sag vivid select+ halfway on compression feeling pretty dialed. This bike is fun as fuk. Can't stop smiling

Good morning, we're developing a set of 150mm cranks and ringguard for the Forbidden, entirely CNC-machined from solid billet.
The design will be proprietary and dedicated to the Forbidden.
Made entirely in Italy.
If anyone is interested, i will post the final result

Will the chain guard work with stoxk cranks?

I havnt hit the chain ring but have hit the motor cover a couple of times alresdy. Do plan on dialling out another few percent of sag mind you so that could solve it alone

As we spend more time together she is getting to understand me more and more. I think we are going to get along just fine 🙂

The day has finally come after ordering in April!! Anyone waiting hang in there haha

Need to fit tyres, couple of other bits, sort sag out then take it for a local blast tomorrow. Before heading up to Innerleithen for a few days riding on Friday.

Congrats you will not be dissapointed of that I am sure. Enjoy. What tyres are you going with?. I am quite happy with the stock rear but much happier with my preferred MM radial on the front

I normally run Conti as I dont get on with Maxxis but those High Rollers have really surpised me. So much so I don't think I'll change til they are worn out.

Yup I’ve always been a schwalbe guy so gone for MM front and rear cos winter haha but for the first time ever not been able to get them to seat on the race face rims with a track pump…

Interesting. I got lazy and just used the wheel off my mottera which had a new MM. Wheel is dt swiss ex1700 with dt 350 hub. One of the few changes I have made apart from 40ml rise bars and 35m stem. I am a shortarse though. 5 7 on an s2

OK… 1/2 dozen rides or so and I am completely smitten with the CorE. Been playing around with the App and power settings the last ride or 2. For those who’ve played around with the settings what have you found that works? Looking to maximize Range but still have some giddy-up when needed. And… what’s the consensus on Auto vs Trail? Seems like Auto has been sucking down the watts pretty quick

I really like a detuned auto (on a lite so range is a factor) , but I am coming from an SL bike.

650w, 85nm, support 5-10

My trail is also a bit detuned and more like a super auto atm for when I need to blast.

Eco is 60nm and 400w which feels close to my Kenevo sl

For those running a coil shock - how do you like it? I am toying with going with a vorsprung Telum. My concern is blowing through the mid stroke when pumping, popping but I know that will be highly dependent on tune and spring rate. Mostly curious to see how folks are enjoying coil overall

think about a fast fenix 2, you can dial in the mid speed compression externally and that has direct input on ride height and support in berms. i really dig mine on my kenevo sl

I'm de tuned to like 50% on boost and then less for all the other modes again. I'm sure eco is like 250w and 20nm then gradually builds up from there in all other modes.

I've still not done a ride where I drain the battery but havnt had a chance to do any proper big days yet, think the last ride was 20k with 1k vert and still had 53% or soemthing left.

First quick ride done. What a bike! First time riding mullet wow can it corner!

Feel like a kid before Christmas for a few days up at the golfie this weekend 😂

Few niggles,

Bars were a bit high so had to drop it a few spacers maybe as I’m running 40mm rise bars.

Rockshox vivid is leaking air from the valve core, so hoping it get that sorted with a new core tomorrow!

Also Mavens felt pretty powerful but need a good bleed as the bite point really isn’t the greatest…

P.S Based in northwest Lancashire.

Yeah it seems to take a bleed or 2 to get the brakes sorted but they sure are good when you do. What was ot about the high stack that has made you give up on it so quickly? I Do understand that you have put higher rise bars on as have I but just curious as to what you are noticing that is detrimental

Always ran hopes so never actually bled sram brakes before. Might try get a shop to do it in Innerleithen tonight. Or is it worth just doing myself if I get a kit bought? The powers there just the bite changes every few pulls.

Currently got 40mm risers and 20mm stem spacers. First few runs it had 45mm of spacers and felt so high and different compared to my analogue bike (transition spire) like to keep the set up quite similar so it’s less of a transition between bikes

The Forbidden is pretty different Geo wise to anything else out there with big stack and not a massive reach. I'd just get used to it, Kinda defeats the purpose of how and why the designed it that way.

Brakes sound like they just need a piston massage as well, seems pretty common on the Mavens

Was out again on mine at Glentress with a mate on his AMflow. Mine seems to be a bit better on battery and my motor is definitely a load quieter.

30KM and 1200m, mostly trail/turbo with some boost and finished the day with 23% left. I think the key to prolonging the battery is no fast charging, Kinda glad I didn't bother getting a fast charger, normal one still charges fairly quickly anyway

You'll find the f/r ratio works better in corners when you drive through your feet more. It takes a bit to get used to, but it is a faster way to ride.
I had a spire, and a dreadnought v2. Takes a bit to "transition" over, but the dreadnought v2 eats the spire's lunch in every metric.
The druid e is designed around the same f/r ratio as the dreadnought v2.
