If i think about it, their manuals and tech sheets are so extremely Well Made, I sometimes forget how bad other manufactures are in supplying those. It took me a while to find the bearing specs for my old giant E-Bike .

Idler wheel/hardware aside, Forbidden focus their frames for abuse versus weight. I’ve had a v1 Druid and have a v2 Druid now, and you’re gonna struggle to win a weight-weenie war with them.

Not sure I agree with that, they are just heavy & a bit fragile (from experience).

V1’s had plenty of issues, V2 Druids go through back ends for fun. Living near the base of Forbidden in the UK, and riding with some of the team, you get the unedited version (plus, 3 sets of seat stays in just over a year on my bike)…

I still rate them as a riding experience (some of the best bikes I’ve ridden) but durable / reliable, they are not. The ownership prospect of a Forbidden ebike feels like a painful proposition, especially with the lack of DJI support in the UK at the moment.

Angling to borrow one when I have to give the Mith I have back, but I’m still, now having ridden a DJI powered bike extensively, not compelled to buy one over a Bosch (looks aside).

That does not sound so good :D I did not have any bigger issues with my forbidden frames. My 2021 Dreadnought V1 frame has had some abuse in the last 4 years on chunk.. not so much in the air though. biggest issues were fast wearing bearings on linkage and idler... Same for the v2 Druid.. ITs only a year old right now but I am riding it with a different linkage that puts a little less stress on the shock (been blowing through travel with different shocks, more pressure, volume tokens or compression just make the ride unpleasant) and more on the rear triangle.. even has 55mm stroke instead of 50mm and 138mm of travel (160mm front now).. No issues at all and I am heavier with 215lbs (95kg)..
I actually haven't heard of broken seat stays on v2 models in different groups as of right now. I could understand it though as I said.. the druid goes through travel really fast for heavier ppl.. I needed 25% sag pressure wise to have some room left, which made the rear end not as dynamic and plush.. With other linkage I can go with 35% again.

As this is my first forbidden I prefer to believe this 🤣

I hope in reality they are all fine & there are no issues. To be fair to Forbidden, they are super good from a warranty perspective, I just submitted a claim on their website, which was approved in 24hrs every time, and I had a new seat stay from Canada within 48hrs of the approval.

I‘d still argue that the best warranty however, is the one you never need to use, but they have been on point when it has gone wrong.

ebikes do add another level of complexity to that situation sadly, but I’ve never been much of a gambler 😆

It looks like it has a little more space than stated as the maximum insertion

Hmm, might get away with a 250 Reverb after all, I run one on my other bike and it's not slammed anyway tbh, maybe 25mm from being slammed

If I do some rather funky calculations, 250mm Reverb might just about fit according to their seatpost insertion specs. The seattube length on an S4 is 470mm. Add 150mm of cranklength.. I typically run around 96cm from pedal axle to saddlemounting location on the dropper.. that leaves 340mm above the seatpost clamp plus 310 insertion in the frame to 650 total :D The 250mm AXS has 648.2mm total length.. btw my inner leg length is around 93.5 cm.

The reverb on my Deviate will actually fit the Forbidden as I run a 31.6 with a shim so I suppose the smart thing would be to chuck it on and check before commiting to another one

Anyone in the uk waiting the next drop is mid October. When I put my deposit down I was told I was in the first drop of bikes seems that isn’t the case. Debating whether to cancel and go with something else as I’m not getting this from my LBS so could be a pain warranty wise if I need it.

My LBS texted me: now pushed to late October/early November for the Core and s3 sizes. I am also considering cancelling out, but no alternative grabbing me.

You are in the same boat as me, I paid a deposit at the beginning of April and not had any update from the bike shop its very frustrating

They are on the way. My shop just let me know I should be be riding by the end of the month

Yes you are in the other side of the world no pirates on that route!
Yeah was gonna say, First half of October for mine now

Tempted to sack it off get get a Mith, Found stock in my size and could have it tomorrow if I wanted but the Forbidden ticks more boxes so I'm unsure

You have done amazing to find that… if you don’t want it let me know 🤣

Jan for uk delivery if your lucky
And if you live the land of freedumb, Unno won’t be making an appearance at all.

The geometry for the mith wouldn’t work me anyway. If there was a size 2.5, then maybe.
