EMTB prices are plummeting.

Probably specifically the Amflow PR effect, I think a lot of brands will do their best to dump stock and get ahead of their inventory levels before word starts spreading you can get a full carbon framed Avniox powered bike for $7k aud.
Yeh I looked at the merida as well. My wife has the e 160 700,the older frame style with vertical mounted shock. Great bike but unfortunately she got xs as she's short and its only a 504wh battery and can't be increased size wise so she always has range anxiety. And it weighs 24 kg which for her is alot to heft. I've got a norco sight 2020 with a 70nm motor and while its enough if she and are are riding together I get smoked uphill when we ride with a group with 85nm motors. But I've had zero issues with my shimano motor, even immered it in a metre of water( not at all intentionally) and after a week in the sun I turned it back on and its been totally fine ever since. But 2g more for a much lighter more powerful and as well specced( other than maybe the brakes on the Amflow) its pretty hard to pass up.

I sold my PL Carbon pro once the PX Pro came out and I placed an order, the market literally crashed overnight because of the PR and new motors coming out, a month before I sold mine the same bike was going for 2k more. When someone can buy new bikes with 800w batteries and the M2 (and sometimes the M2s) for 4500+. There would have to be a compelling reason to buy used with older tech for more money (even if the components are better on the used bike)

Where did you purchase?

Check this Site frequently, they have the craziest deals, like this one:

Or this:

Like I said, no way you could lose money on this. I’m not in the need for a new bike but for less then 3000 bux I’m I it, so I have the opportunity to try out the Bosch SX and after that I’m going to sell it again.

great looking too.

I bought something very similar, <2 weeks ago. No fucking way would I rather an Amflow... I walked right past a herd of new M2S on the shop floor. Cute little toys, but not for me.

Each to their own.
Betting: There will be no parts or service centers for these Chinese motors in the near future and beyond....

How allow you to affirm that ? the bafang (an other china brand) are the alone motor who youn can easily find spare parts to maintain. why you said that amflow will not been provided spare parts ?

Can’t find a Merida E160 675 for under £3999 here in the UK, so not sure it translates across continents.

I wonder if it’s the retailers who carry the can here, from overstocks, or distributor discounts on the table, ie sale or return?

E-bikes of all sorts have been overpriced for a long time now, Covid pumped the bubble and it’s taken a long time to deflate.

Whether it’s the ‘Avinox effect’ or not, prices coming down is a good thing, but maybe RRPs should be coming down and not just discounts going up.

To be fair, the number of people in the current cost of living crisis still having the cash to drop even a couple of £k on any e-bike must be in the minority.

I suppose it must be dependent on what bubble you’re in, but I’m not seeing many Avinox bikes on the routes I’m riding, it’s still mainly Levo’s, but there is a big dealer in the locality which might explain that.
Agree on e MTB bikes being over priced. My god I could buy a brand new KTM 300 for the cost of some top tier bikes last couple years.

Yep. Technology is a moving fast industry. Some shops are doing it hard with stock they can't sell. I was talking to a shop owner the other day and he said sl and mid power bikes just arent selling. He had something discounted from $20k down to $12k and its still gathering dust.

The down side is that out current bikes resale prices are also plummeting aswell. Non DJI bikes are like used undies. No body wants them.
I have an DJI M1 and even this bike has skid marks from a resale perspective.
But i like the M1 to the point it is near perfect for me (and more that i will ever properly utilise having seen dudes who actually know how to ride hard & fast am a PL) and see no point in changing it for the new bikes as i don't really need what they offer.
So i need to hang on to my M1 to get value out of my outlay. I did buy it at the run-out discount price too, but with the new Amflow's offering more for the same RRP of the PL/M1 i am a bit miffed.

I feel the same about my bosch Crestline. Ill be milking that bike until its nuts and bolts on the ground.

I am in the exact position as your mate, in the market my first e-bike in Aus and decided to save a bit extra and get an M2S equipped bike - despite the crazy discounts available. in my opinion, all of the pregnant looking, 25kg+ full power rigs like this e160 or trek rail+ are going to be a tough sell. Who wants to have an extra 4kg-5kg, and 40% less power? Nobody.

I am guessing the next big development will be battery capacity (as eluded to, are we getting near the practical ceiling at 150nm?) - solid state battery tech is coming along, so all our M2 bikes today will be used undies in 3 years anyway (I’m hoping we can just upgrade our existing chassis with improved batteries/motors, I dunno if this is likely).

You just need to get ran over by a car again and you'll be well on your way to a bike update.
Nah, I'm loving it. Went for a brain melter rider today. So much fun. I was giggling like a school girl. I dont need anymore power either, I have more than enough.

My problem is, if this thing gets damaged or stolen what do i replace it with.... Just dont want the 800wh heavy front end.
I love the 400wh and withstand the 600wh.

Anyway, that's a good problem to have.
