A couple years ago, I had a Magura Vyron wireless dropper on my Bulls, and one day I lifted the bike by the saddle, as I've done habitually for decades. Next I know, the Vyron's top popped like a champagne bottle, spewing fluid every which way. Nasty!

I looked closely at the threads that failed to hold the e-dropper's top on, and they were pretty thin. Now my Commencal's KS Lev Integra post has substantial play (lateral and radial). I'm aware that some play is "normal" in droppers, but have to wonder:

Does an eMTB's additional weight cause more wear on droppers? I know there are lots of frivolous "ebike specific" components out there, but I'm thinking that a dropper brand would be wise to market a beefy eMTB dropper built to handle 50+ lbs of uplift.

I now try to be mindful and not lift my ebikes by the seat. In the heat of the ride, though, it's a hard habit to break!
