DH World Cup thread

Been out at a family thing all day, so missed the live but I'm going to put it out there - that little 8 stone kid is the best I've seen in forever. If he stays fit, he's going to boss it for years to come. 🇨🇦

Was a fantastic race! Some huge crashes too so hope all the riders involved are okay. My fantasy team was on fire with 124 points for the round and into the top 1000 overall. Stoked!

I see the moneymakers have decreed that the Junior DH WC racing will no longer be on YT for free...limiting audiences further.

Was posted here across the pond on YT. That and the highlights mixed with the UCI timing site is how I guess I'm going to get my WC DH ya ya's in this year. And also some track walk and athlete vid pre vids. Whatever for sure Jackson is a level above the rest and calm as a bomb to boot!

Update: Just saw via IGram that WB will no longer be posting free YT Junior category races going forward. However they will be broadcast on their paywall's.....

Andorra this weekend. Must feel like an xc track after La Thuile. Last year Loris won world champs there & if you remember, it meant everything to him. I thought it would be interesting to compare the last time the world cup went there. Not much has changed in elite women, arguably but men, what a difference a couple of years can make.

If you're into the intangible side of things, is it worth considering Greg Minnaar lives there & Norco could be buoyed by a pool party round his? 😂 Or Commencal with it being Max's backyard? IDK, stranger things and all that.

To be fair the results above were weather affected with the top qualifiers going during/after rain. Bruni was well above the pack the last 2 visits there, but got affected by weather above and last year crashed out of a commanding lead for world champs.

If memory serves, Camille Balanche ended up being helicoptered off that year too?

But I was getting more at the changing order - Greg is retired, Finn's head has gone this season & Bernard is temporarily dead.

Mens, I don't know how you could look past Goldstone at this point. DH is a confidence game and Jackson has it in spades currently. Woman's I'd love to see Vali get one but understand Tahnee & Nina will be pushing hard too.

All but one of my team made it through Q1, Juan Fernando Munoz is looking like an uncharacteristic canny pick. Seems like Henry Kiefer crashed in split three, hope he's all good.

Feel a bit for Pivot. BK down in the late 20's's not unexpectedly but they've had exactly one race start all season but missed out by not very much with two DH riders today. Danny Hart out of the show again too, he's having a stinker in a team that's doing well.

Watched that last night & found myself disappointed that he argued that in return for being helpful to other riders, they should have given him their lines so that he could have won. I've felt for a while that he is a flat track bully, especially with Hardline, winning largely against depleted fields & whining about etiquette doesn't help his cause imo.

Great race again. My fantasy team scored 115 and would have been even better if Munoz hadn’t gone down on the final run.

Into the top 500 overall. Stoked at the halfway point of the season.

Great work there, I’m at 2006 globally. 93 points this week. Had Loic and Tahnee. There was something about Loic in the interview last week that led me to think he was desperate to reign Jackson in.

92 for me & 2500ish. I missed the first race, so not untidy. Story of the race for me was Gracey Hemstreet doing a Dakota Norton, one corner from victory & I was rooting for JG to do five in a row & attain immortality as bike Jesus.
