New selection of DIY frame

Dengfu E55 and E56 will be listed in November, with no purchase restrictions in the world.

The frames of the new products are similar to those of E22 and E23, both of which are M620 motor frames, as well as a mountain bike and a snowmobile. The travel is 150mm. The difference is that 52V 20A 1040wh battery can be selected as the standard configuration of new products.

The larger battery support is a welcomed improvement over the e22 / e23 frames, I think a lot of people will agree this is a good thing. I can't help but prefer the e22's looks over this though, the e22 has a very clean slick look to it that this just doesn't have. Maybe its because of a better more modern geo (this this frame might have idk) but the frame lines on the e22 look better, and I'm not a fan at all of the little triangle at the headtube. I will be interested in hearing peoples opinions on it though once these frames have been built up in the wild
 
Looking forward to see the geo charts. Also a bit confused because there are no cable sleeve holes on the left side...
 
Great frame, a bit pitty that my E22 is arriving soon, otherwise would select this one because it has a much bigger battery compartment. Just those 20A BMS is probably a joke ;)
 
I would build a custom pack to try and match the fray 60v, do you really need 20AH?

I don't know what Frey or bafang is doing with the controller in the beast, but AFAIK you can't just throw 60v at the ultra, so probably not a great idea to build your battery packs with that approach if you're dengfu, imo (if that was the implication).

Personally, I would like the extra headroom and 1kwh is my preferred size for a big battery without going too crazy, but some may prefer the smaller packs. I would love a 1kwh pack for the E22 tbh. I prefer avoiding running the packs from 100-0 and prefer to keep it in the 80-90% range down to 30% when commuting.

That said, I just placed a gbk preorder for the E22 a couple days ago and would love to know more about the e55, but leaning towards sticking with the E22. I prefer the looks of E22 at this point and to very my newbie geo eyes (my current bike is a 2017 hard tail bbshd, only recently learning a bit about modern geo), it *appears* the E22 might be more a bit balanced and e55 may be more a bit more purely DH oriented (I prefer the former over latter)... But again, I don't know what I'm talking about (and probably not smart for me to try to infer much from a couple internet pics).

There is a part of me wondering if I should wait and watch, though... but holding for months before starting my build might not be a test of discipline I can pass.

With the ultra, you kinda do want more AHs, the motors are very powerfull, and eat up the e22 840wh/17.5ah batteries very fast.

Some people might want more voltage, to push a little more power, I personally wouldn't mind the extra AHs for a bit more endurance. I find the bafang ultra with 48v plenty powerful enough for mtb singletrack. It's the range at that power level that could do with improving. It looks like the e55 is exactly that.
 
Good for the North American market for sure. I just hope the 20ah battery is more up top snuff than the 48v 840wh one that comes stock on the E22/E10. 52v is a plus as I find that the M620 likes that voltage better than 48v but also got a huge improvement in range/low v performance with the 21700 cell batteryw/ 40A bms I replaced the stock one with.

the 14s3p or something else? how many AH? 12? 15?

(I'm looking into battery options for dengfu e22 currently, but not liking what I see for the battery pack options tbh. I would love to get closer to (or hit) 1kwh @ 52v @ >= 60a... and kinda hoping the guy that 3d printed the case in the e22 thread decides to open source that sucker... I've got a spot welder and nickel strip on standby).
 
Now there are 17 "frames in stock, and other sizes are still in production. E55 E56 geometry for 17 "has been updated.
 
For E55/E56 best option would be a custom battery in blue heatshrink - when ordering my battery for E22 from Dingtai batteries, Herbert mentioned that if I would remove the upper and lower battery mounts he could easily make me a 52V 20aH battery that would go into the frame. For E55 i believe it could be even much bigger so many more ah would be possible.
 
Local battery builder made according to my specifications and dimensions. I can post more in the battery thread if you're interested, not to defer from the topic too much
 
I would imagine you built this battery? - very fun to build your own battery as you get to pick your cells and BMS and you can do whatever you can fit in the custom space. I agree on the heatshrink battery as you are not loosing space to plastic cell holders.

I know the plastic case battery is a much neater option but if you can make your own battery it is much better and cheaper todo it this way.

spot welder - £50
Nickle strip - £15
BMS like a nice daly one, £30 depending on what discharge/layout you need
shrink wrap £20
tape and connectors £10
cells 18650 or 21700 3-5 each
 
That's the frame Glide is using for their Roam emtb. They are using the a different motor, though.

Any chance to get the measurements of the battery compartment? The compartment looks significantly deeper than e22. I wonder if 21700 cells will fit vertically as that would potentially mean a very big battery

For retail, some key information can be sold on the shelves now; The price of frame and motor battery is consistent with E22.

That frame looks sick. The lines look amazing, the m620 is integrated smooth and much better than on any othet m620 flame I saw, even better than on BikTrix Monte Capro Ultra. I love it and I want it.

I think Dengfu is selling this frame together with the battery and all the hardware.

Unfortunately I have also found out that the battery cover is integrated into the battery and not the frame which kinda limits the use of the frame to this stock battery. Otherwise I am sure a 14s5p would fit giving a whooping 1300wh.
14s4p fits into E22 which I find aesthetically more pleasing.

Both E55 and E56 batteries can be purchased online, and there should be no shortage of battery boxes.

Thank you for the information.

Do you know if this frame goes with the hardware for mounting the battery (like the mounting plate with contacts, the lock mechanism) or the battery mounting hardware should be purchased separately?
