Cube Stereo 160 Seized rear suspension bearing?

Hey guys, i have a 2022 Cube Stereo 160 SL, i have noticed recently a bit of squeeking/clicking coming from my rear suspension.

Ive only had it since the middle of August, but have put 700 miles on it already! (its been a bit addictive!)

I assumed it was dirt on the joints, so took it all apart to clean and give it some silicone lube.

However after cleaning it all up ive discovered the top bearing on the O/S (on the arm) does not spin whilst all the others do.

So i guess this could be where the noise is coming from?


Im assuming these need pressing in and out of the arm?, so will need to take it to a bike shop?

I bought it online, so a bit difficult to do a warranty claim, but its a bit disappointing its seized already?

Anyone else had this happen?

If you do not use a rear mudguard the upper pivot bearings get everything thrown forward off the rear tyre.
If you want to DIY you will need a blind bearing puller to remove the bearing in situ or if you move the arm to get access from the other side you can drive or press it out and press in a replacement.

The bearings have 6801RS written on them, i can't find anything from google that matches perfectly, but these are 6801-2RS and the measurements look spot on. (and much cheaper than expected).

I have just re-assembled the bike, i did notice the opposite bearing is a bit rough so i will replace that one as well.
However the creaking has gone! but suspect it would come back once the lube has worn away.

Don't buy cheapest bearings ! for frame you should use full complement aka MAX
they are designed to rotate just a bit, they have more balls inside.

6801 is a size, 2RS means there is a rubber seal on both sides.
and probably Enduro 2RS LLU (LLU means even better seal) bearing is better sealed than cheapish Chineese bearing.
