Crestline RS 181.2 thread – builds, reviews, technical info

It looks like if you get the wolf tooth resolve dropper you can do 160 slammed.
I actually have a 160 resolve that I’ve been meaning to try. It’s actuator part is longer than the oneup so I figured I wouldn’t be able to insert it as much as the oneup, but I didn’t actually try it

Oh ok. Idk I was just going off their website insertion depth which I thought included the actuator but maybe not. Hope it works out though!

coming from a kenevo sl with reduced insertion depth, now on a velduro, nothing beats deep insertion depth. 240mm drop is a lot better than just having a 210mm with travel reduced to 190mm...

i'll never ride another bike with a shock tunnel

Preach short king!

So I flipped my bike upside down to take off the rear wheel and change the tire. When I did, I saw this thing sticking out of the skid plate slot on the bottom.

I tried to grab it to see what it was but it fell inside. So I took the skid plate off and fount this.

I thought it might be a plug and go in this hole in the bottom of the motor. But it’s too big to fit in the hole which is threaded. Does anyone know what it is or where it goes? And what if anything goes in the hole on the bottom of the motor?

Wasn't sure this day would ever come, but they are in stock now...

Just scooped up the "shuttle guard" to cover the hole left in the ridewrap kit!

Hope this helps others in the same dilemma.. you are cordially invited to chuck gravel onto the frame!!

I just scooped up the last one according to the site. Fingers crossed it comes.

I did email ridewrap and they said they would send me a new piece free of charge to cover the spot if I wanted. I may still do that depending on how the guard mounts.

Even with how busy he must be, Troydon got my shuttle guard shipped out already and it's coming Thursday!

Good note about the ridewrap patch. The guard is a stick on, so the ridewrap patch could go likely go underneath if wanted.

I think I may go for the patch too since it's free, thanks a bunch for the note! (y)

its not a patch, its an entire downtube piece. They send it free, so no reason not to get it. I already wrapped my bike with the piece with the cutout in it. Then I placed a rectangle 3m ppf patch over the hole to cover it, then stuck the shuttle guard on top of the patch. I have the replacement ride wrap piece for backup if I damage the wrap on the downtube.

Thanks a bunch for the detailed info, think I will end up following your lead on this one!! (y)

So, how many grams is that thing anyways?!!

Hi all

Waiting for my forge edition. Frame set.
It’s being delivered to a friend in the US. I will be travelling over from UK in July and will bring g it back with me.

Didn’t t realise that flying with the battery is a no no. SO. If anyone wants an 800w battery for a bargain price. Please let me know.

I guess the forged edition isn't made in carbon forged (frame).

Therefore, i wonder if making the switch to fully forged carbon frame (and not only a forged finish) will be a thing, in a near future ? Do brands like Crestline have any interest (or strategic move) to switch ? I.E. frame production relocalization, durability / sustainability / cost-margin / etc ???

Can you friend ship the battery, even if you can’t fly with it yourself.
I mean batteries must be shipped around the world (excluding boats)

I ordered a shuttle guard and additional drop outs on Friday...the email update I received from Troydon on Monday was that the frames will start shipping near the end of this week and that my RH2 will come with a 450 lb spring (of course, I think I will need a 550 lb).

Just a guess but it looks similar to the plugs that Brose uses to cover unused ports on the Brose motor of my Levo. I realize that this was in the skid plate and the plugs are inside the enclosed motor but it's possible it's been sitting in there since it left the factory.

I’m interested but can’t you remove the battery from the frame and take as a carry on item?

I got my frame set 2 weeks ago. It got delivered to the UK by airfreight 👍
Bought a battery in the UK

Plus I’d guess your frame comes with a 700wh battery !?

I don’t think so.
From previous experiences, airlines have limits on the watt hours of batteries they allow you to carry on board. I ended up having to ship a battery internationally from a private carrier.

Here is battery shipping information taken directly from Crestlines web page from the service provider they use for shipping batteries internationally:

Shipping costs are typically $300 USD only for the battery (This service has been used successfully for customers in the UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Switzerland, South Africa and more). They are very responsive to email if you have questions.
