Crestline RS 181.2 thread – builds, reviews, technical info

Question for all the people who ordered sans battery, did battery mounts come with the frame? Or can you bolt direct to the avinox battery?

🙏🏽🙌🏽🤙🏽👌🏽🤌🏽🥵☕🥂 008 almost ready for its Maiden voyage once the ridewrap is installed. I love the forged but the white offers a nice contrast.

Ceramic bearing and the bigger pulleys result in less watts lost, and look cool doing it 😹🙌🏽👌🏽
[Sarcasm allert]
One would argue that the motor already overwhelms tiny efficiency gains. Saving 1-3W is basically irrelevant on a 1300-1500W peak eMTB. 😉

It might look cool, though, if somebody is into such sophisticated aesthetics.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Does anyone has information on where to find frame plugs for open cable ports for those who are running wireless derailleurs/dropper post?

They sell different sizes. You can find cheaper options on Amazon. I would also suggest stopping by your LBS and ask. They should have some.

Thanks for the feedback. What model did you land? I have a Speed Shop Team Edition due to ship ~June.
Yours may come with it but best to check with Troydon. Those who got the frameset and chose the fork as an option specifically say a starnut and mudguard is not included.

#15 is on the trails.

I really like the ability to tune the assistance to your liking. I was worried I wouldn't get any exercise but I really like it. My Transition Relay is 60nm with 300w in trail. That's lacking a little power for punchy ups or quick bursts. While boost is 60nm with 350w, the power is not delivered as smoothly as in trail. It's a bit jerky.

Eco on the Cresty is now set to 80nm with 300w no overrun and it's perfect for my local trails and current abilities given I'm still rehabbing ACL surgery. The ability to change the settings as my abilities change or my local trails change, which they are soon, is fantastic.

Awesome vid! What was the original frame finish? The raw or Forged?

YOOOOO. Thats a crazy wrap.... let's see some pics!
Thanks! Maya wasn't thrilled about doing this one. I've had this idea for a while. I was trying to mix a raw aluminum aircraft look with 1940s war bird and it wasn't working. So I went with just 1940s airliner look mainly because the name "Crestliner" worked well.

@Onetime may I request an update of the DH cassette + 34t climbing experience?
I haven’t put the DH 7speed cassette on yet. I’m waiting until I put on my 200mm DH linkage, which I have now. But I’m going to ride 180/180 for a little while before I make it 200/200 and then throw on the 7 speed. However I have been running my 34t chainring with my 11 speed 10-42 cassette and not using the 42. The 34 x 36 is low enough for anything that’s steep enough to actually ride up. So I think the 7sp will be good for bike park and a 10-36 good for everything else.
