Under certain pedaling load, my motor auto shifts from emtb (or emtb+) to turbo
I find this a bit irritating, how do I turn it off?

Do you mean the motor actually changes the mode to Turbo and this is shown in the display? Should't happen and is the first time I hear about.

Or do you mean the support increases in eMTB and eMTB+ modes when applying more power to the pedals? This is the designed functionality of those modes.

The former ie the motor changes to turbo from emtb+ and is shown on the display

Really strange.

Could it be that your mode switch has a loose contact or the buttons get pressed by some other component next to it. What controller do you use?

If that is not the case there is a function in the Flow app you could try.
Go to individual riding modes and reset all modes to default configuration. Do that for each mode you have activated and also for all other modes you might have used in the past.

I have had a bike with a gen 5 motor for a few weeks now and it kept changing modes without me doing anything. It was a bit of a bind .

Then I discovered that a fold in the thumb of my glove kept touching the mode switch!
The switch had been placed right up to the grip and with the rocker face almost vertical. So I moved the switch further away from the grip and turned the body of the switch so that the rocker was horizontal. Only very occasional issues now.

I also found that with the rocker horizontal I find it easier to press it just once at a time, rather than the mutiple number of times where it was before (as a consequence of bumpy trails).

Exactly, that's what I was thinking about.

For me the more vertical mounting is ideal. When the switch is horizontal I tend to do multiple presses and have to rotate my thumb to far.

Apart from being 90 degrees away from each other, we are aligned! :)

Yeah thats a switch problem. Probably the remote switch on the handle bar.

Take it off and see you are still getting mode changes.

Same here.

I had similar issues where the motor appeared to shift on it's own. I looked carefully at my cockpit set up and noticed that the mode switch was right next to the grip. When I would drop the seat post, sometimes I would brush the mode switch and change the motor mode as I reset my hand on the grip. I moved the mode switch over to the right and the problem went away.

Yup. That's the most likely cause of the OP's observed symptoms. As much as I enjoy the Bosch motor, the Wifi Remote is şħíț on a biscuit.

1. The clamp is made from the eggshells of undernourished hens. Tighten it 0.1 Nm beyond the 0.6 Nm recommendation and you'll be ordering another.

2. Get a little heavy handed with rubber cap covering the switches, and it will assume the shape of a potato chip.

3. The switches are sensitive to the point that you can't be sure what's going on without checking the display.

The motor is made for hardcore shredders slamming it off rocks, but the switch is more suited to endodontists delicately loafing along the paved bunny trails.

1. Thanks for the warning!
2. What rubber cap?
3. Maybe the rubber cap was to reduce the touch sensitivity? (And yes, I do have to check the display).

I agree about it being suitable for delicate loafers on paved bunny trails.

2. What rubber cap?

It's the soft rubber rectangular thing that you push with your thumb. You can pull up on it a little with your fingernail to see how it is, but don't pull too much or you'll break it. I goofed up the one on my 2024 bike within two months, and neither Pivot nor Bosch could get me one for several months. I ended up having to order one from Italy. During that time, I ran across the Pivot demo guy. One of his bikes had the same goofed up remote.

Luckily, you can get by without the remote by using the display.

I still don't see any soft rubber (cover or rectangular thing). See my pic. Have I got something missing?
