Bosch CX Gen 5 rattle

Did you have to drop the motor for this? I can tell my cam latch is rattling on the pin so I would like to remove it and give it a shot. Rail+ 9.7 gen 5 size large.
To answer my own question. You cannot take it out on a size large gen 5 rail without dropping the motor. There is not enough room in the bottom of the frame between the motor and the rib 2 assembly to slide it down to pull it out from the top (where the latch is). Guess I’m going to have to live with this annoying rattle.

I had to drop the motor on my XL gen5. But I believe trekRailIRL managed to do this w/o dropping the motor and he has a L.

You can do this without dropping the motor no problem on a large frame.

Ive had the rib out a few times.

Dropping the motor is also straightforward.

I was chasing another rattle last week, which involved me removing the seat. I thought I had to drop the motor to get the cable for the dropper though again, turns out you don't but I did not knowing. The motor is just two bolts, v straightforward.

Good luck with it

Can you explain how you did it? I just had all the bolts out and had it freely moving. There was no way to push it down toward the motor enough to get the top portion past the frame to pull the whole thing out.

Sorry I can't remember, it was a bit of a wiggle but came out ok. I didn't do anything strange or disconnect anything further. I'm trying to remember though if I maybe pushed it up to the top of the frame to get the bottom part out first, I really can't remember....sorry.
