Bike packing storage

I need to find a way to carry gear on the rear area of a full suspension bike. Here is a rough AI image that I am going to try, are there pitfalls that I may be missing. I am traveling in the Alps so I need a quick and dirty option. the red line is where I am considering round dry sacks strapped to the rear triangle.

I guess the difficult part is keeping them from sliding down the seat stay.

What if you positioned the bags along the seat stay instead of across? Then you could put the bottom strap near the axle to prevent sliding down.

Along the seat stay is worth a try. I am liking the lateral thinking "literally"

Mean while back at the ranch... on a train ride I noticed strapping tube bags to road forks that have hard points. I'm thinking of locking out the forks and strapping to the fork legs for front to lower Center of Gravity

I've seen a bloke on a FS bike with this setup. Not cheap but has storage on top and sides.

Last thing you want on a packing trip is gear failure so may be an investment if you plan to use it.

I'd just be aware of dropping the post right down and using full travel.

I successfully use Pack'n'pedal from Thule. It's expensive and screws must be regularly tightened, but it works on my Trek Powerfully FS, size L:
