I currently have an issue on my NEW Forbidden Dreadnought E Tier 1 build which I bought few weeks ago.
Initially I thought it's drive train issue but I don't think it is.
Here is the issue.
My ebike won't shift from 10 to 11th gear and if I press the pod again, it's shifts 2 gears to 12th.
Originally, I had issue with 7th gear also but after resetting/repositioning the Sram Axs XO per T-type Transmission instructions and on the Axs app and 7th gears to 8th gear shifts with no issues but it didn't fix 10th to 11th gear.
Here is the crazy part, if I leave my bike on a stand and do shifting, all gears shift with no issues including 10th to 11th. It's Only when I ride the bike 10th to 11th won't shift.
I also did a test where as I shift from 10th to 11th pulling the chain down at the bottom to give tension on the chain, kinda like if I was sitting on it and 10th to 11th won't shift.
In other words, if there is a tension on the chain it won't shifts. I also firmed up the rear coil shock and see if that changes anything and nope. Even if I firm up the rear shock, it won't shift.
Just as FYI, I am not a bike mechanic but know enough to do minor repairs including installing new set of Sram GX and XO T-type groups set on my 2 other anolog MTB.
I also played around with Micro Adjustment in Axs app moving to adjustment 2 to the right and when I do that, 10 to 11th gear have no issue But, this causes issues on my 3rd gear. It doesn't know what to do and want to try to shift to 4th.
I reset the derailleur position/setting of the derailleur 5x+ torquing the derailleur to 35nm and axle to 12 nm per spec, 2 marks in the derailleur line up exactly and still have an issue.
I also took the wheels off, took off the cassette, reinstalled it at 40 nm torque per sram spec and that didn't help.
Just as FYI, on Forbidden Dreadnought E Ebike, you set the T-type Transmission using 6th cog (24t) vs 7th cog (21t). Setting is A like most of the bike. My chain is 122 links as per spec.
I know that T-type Transmission is very sensitive to high pivot bike so I clean the hub wheel area and rear triangle where the axle goes in to make sure there are no gap issues due to dirt or something stuck there but still the same issue.
As mentioned, I initially thought it was derailleur issue but I don't think that's the case.
Here is the reason why I am saying that.
As mentioned, my bike is new so after trying many things to fix the issue myself, I took the bike back to the shop and had them look at it. Like me, theycouldn't fix the issue so they are going to reach Sram Rep and Forbidden next week.
As I was at the shop, they had another Forbidden Dreadnought E Tier 1 build so before I left, I asked if can try the one on the floor to see if it had same issue. And guess what, it did have the same issue. 7th to 8th gear won't shift and same 10th to 11th. Kinda like my bike when I first got it.
As mentioned, bike is at the shop and they are going to reach out to Sram and Forbidden to see what the issue is or fix is.
Tier 1 build comes with Zeb Ultimate in 180mm and 170mm Vivid Ultimate Coil Shock in the rear. My bike size is S2 (Medium)
Has anyone has experience this on their Dreadnought E. Especially if you are riding T1 build with Zeb/Vivid Coil. Am I the only one with this issue? It's got to be something simple but just can't figure it out. Maybe the plactic cap that goes in the area where you loosed the cassette need to be 1mm out more or something.
Seriously, it's got to be something simple.
This has been extremely frustrating.
Any input or help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
