Avinox launch 1500w M2S motor and cheaper M2 motor

You’re 100% right on the legal access, and that's the winning argument for now. But you’ve got to admit, we are sliding down a slippery slope here when the emtbs brand keep gain moore power.

Look at the new DJI Avinox M2S—it’s pumping out 1,500W of peak power and 150Nm of torque. For context, a Surron Light Bee X starts at 3,000W of rated power. If eMTB manufacturers keep pushing the limits in this power arms race, the gap between an eMTB and a Surron is going to vanish.

For me the new avinox motor are not a emtb motor , i already rate it as a emoto.
WHAT !!!
M2S: rated power 250W
Surron starter model: rated power 3000W
Therefore M2S is an eMoto !!!
😵‍💫

Why buy a bike with the Avinox M2S motor when you can buy a stark for the same money?

All the new bikes with the M2S motor are insanely expensive.

What? There's actually a bunch of very reasonably priced (€4,500-€7,500 RRP) bikes with the Avinox. If anything it's brought prices down. I'm not an Avinox cheerleader by any means but this will definitely benefit the consumer if it forces other brands to match or do better on prices.

It's not really a slippery slope. Nobody would want an Avinox m3s if it weighed more but had more power. Almost every customer they have is probably tuning it down from its max. They're already pushing the limits of what you can have in the size/weight and with the same bicycle components like drive train/wheels.

I'd be very much surprised if anyone comes out with anything significantly more powerful than the m2s.

Also, the Surron Light Bee X is 6000W peak, vs the Avinox 1500w peak. So 4 times more powerful. Not exactly a small difference.

Well, thankfully the authorities in Australia, Asia and Europe don't rate a pedelec, limited to 25kph, with a 250 watt rated motor, and without a throttle, as an E-Moto. They read the rules and rate it as a EN15194 compliant EMTB.

And people continually calling an EN15194 compliant EMTB, an E-Moto. Would see every compliant EMTB banned. But lets not start down this path, in yet another thread.

As long as their rated power remains at 250 watts. There is no slippery slope. Peak power only helps your climbing ability, when you are limited to 25kph. Which is the entire point of the Avinox Motor system. It's literally what every reviewer has commented. It allows you to climb technical slopes, that previous EMTBs could not. And this has 100% been my experience with the Avinox Motor System. I have an M1 and a M2S.

The Avinox M1 on a trail bike, is the best climbing bike I have ever experienced. My M2S is on a big travel burlier Enduro. So it downhills better. But doesn't climb as well.
