Does anybody know whether the Fox 38 Factory supplied on the S.170E.1 is a 180mm post-mount fork or the new 2026 200mm post-mount chassis?

I’m planning to fit larger discs 223mm, so I wanted to confirm whether I need +43mm or +23mm adoptor for the front.

I'll probably go 203mm on the rear - does anybody know the direct mount of the rear triangle?

Did this change for the new 38? My 2025 Fox 38 is direct mount for 180mm rotors.

It appears the fox 38s (2027) has a PM200, whereas the earlier models had a PM180.

I was told my deposit was the 8th in the first batch and my order is due 10th June . I've checked today and they've said they're confident in that date and nothing should delay it. Size 8 S170E.2 build kit like the above.

I just don’t trust these mag reviews etc at the very least if they are not paid reviews in most cases it’s there source of putting food on the table. It’s completely beyond me how on earth that one Bike won best bike in test last year in one review. I , and many that rode could feel that the weight and handling was off after just a few mins on the bike.

Yes I agree, that’s what I am hoping for. But dispite some bikes being delivered I haven’t seen any owner reviews yet.

Maybe not as in-depth, but based on the riders experience. I am more inclined to attribute more weight to an owners review than one from a media or magazine .

I dunno, someone who has just spent a large wedge of money on a bike definitely has a vested interest in it and would probably be embarrassed to say they might have been better with something else.

You only have to look on here when someone asks for a recommendation for an accessory or component, everyone pipes in with what they use as the best thing on the planet.

Long term ownership reviews are a different matter. Once the shine has worn off and the niggles arise I think you get a much more honest opinion.

I know what you mean like some owners of a certain brand that have a very clear case of “ Stockholm syndrome “. It’s a balance act, like with paid for reviews and those that need hits to put food on the table.

I would not expect them to write a review for just me. I my experiences of new MTBs they are like cars. In so much as owners are very keen to write about them good or bad. I and many of my friends that own EMTBs have put up owners ride reviews shortly after the first ride. Just like I did with my AMflow Pro. Below.

I’ve lost track of how many times you’ve mentioned that Amflow on this Atherton thread! The rear mudguard tells me we are drastically different riders….so your review might be meaningless to me, and vice versa

I ride my bike across many different courses and trails both here and abroad, in all weathers . The rear guard is what the supplier dealer recommends. Been rides MTB , scramble bikes and trial bikes and high powered road motorcycles for over 55 years. I would like to think I have a good feel if a bike is a bag of sht or not. This will be my 9th high end EMTB from 18, over which time I have done around 25,000 plus miles on them across all trails, courses, bike parks etc.

As for your observation with regard to me mentioning my AMflow Pro on this thread, asides to both bikes sharing the very same parts .who the F are you to tell me or anyone on here what to or not to post .

Will be interesting to see how people find the motor on the Atherton. Already reports of issues after 200 miles. Rattles, speed sensor issues etc. the same issues they had with the gen 1 dji

I can honestly say that I had zero issues with both my first Anflow bikes Motor and batt wise, in 6k miles. My current PX and Pro have been faultless in past 3 months. Having the DJI Batt and power unit is one of the main reasons as to why the Atherton interests me. The speed sensor is now part of the brake disc. What concerns me more is how the bike feels with its 24.5kgs. A big part of the AMflow is just how agile it feels.

Having the DJI Batt and power unit is one of the main reasons as to why the Atherton interests me. The speed sensor is now part of the brake disc. The speed sensor isn't part of the disc, it's in the frame. The slots are just how is gauges speed. That's not the actual sensor. Been quite a few people getting speed sensor issues on the m2s. Which is disappointing as that was an issue on the 1st gen. Zero parts in the UK to get it replaced current.

Well, I have had neither issue so far on any of my 4 AMflow bikes. I will call the shop tomorrow morning they sell all the DJI power brands and enquire as to how many they have had with the above.

Been out today on the new ebike so
Here’s an honest review/information from a normal bloke on the S170E,

The bike itself is mega, I’ve had quite a lot of e-bikes, my last few were Specialized gen3 and 4 and the Santa Cruz vala.
The Atherton rides way better than either of these, feels way more like a “normal” bike.
It feels way lighter to ride than it actually is too.

Range/power ect
Today we did 17 mile with around 2500ft of climbing and I finished with 25%.
That said it was all in trail and we were bombing up the hills with absolutely no effort, it was ridiculous.

But I wanted to try a real range test in trail straight out the box.

I’ll turn trail down quite a bit as it’s way more than you actually need.
For comparison trail feels way more powerful than the vala with the latest Bosch with the all the latest updates , cranked up as much as possible(in turbo)
Also I’m 100kg and it was literally zero effort the whole ride.
This surprised me to be fair if you turned it down to a realistic level of assist you’d get mega range.
As I said even trail is just stupid
So anyone worried about range don’t be.

Plus the charger is insanely fast and if you stopped for an hour for dinner you’d probably be fully charged again.
