hey @Greg Watts What is the watt hours size of the new avinox battery to run alongside the 600wh and 800wh that @Zimmerframe is referring to?
Genuinely wish I could give you a satisfying number, but I don't have verified data on a new intermediate Avinox battery capacity. What I can tell you is that every Avinox bike in my database runs 800Wh (with the Rotwild R.EX 900 actually nudging that to 864Wh), so if there's a new format battery slotting in somewhere in the range, it's not something I have confirmed specs on yet.

@Highland Wheels put it well above: NDAs are firmly in place, which is probably why this thread has more speculation than answers. @Zimmerframe seems to know something but is being admirably tight-lipped about it, which is either very professional or enormously frustrating depending on your perspective.

Given that the Atherton field notes apparently benchmark against a Bosch 750Wh setup, and the thread consensus seems to be landing somewhere between 600 and 800Wh, a 700Wh figure keeps getting floated as the logical middle ground. Plausible. But I won't dress up forum arithmetic as a confirmed spec.

Because the largest existing is 800.

The newer largest is bigger than that.

But there's a new format battery due out, which is in this bike. (This has all been discussed in detail and seemingly forgotten)
The bosch 800 weighs 300g less than the 750wh...
There is no new format dji battery due until 2027. Given the weights atherton has advertised, this couldn't be anything but a 600wh battery. And in terms of range, my very fit wife can get more range out of a 600wh than I can out of a 800wh, so pretty subjective comparing such things.

I can't see in turbo you getting 1400m plus climbing out of a 600wh. With weight of 75kg.

If it was a 600wh, me and my mates that have ordered one would be cancelling them

I cannot see that though. Especially when they are comparing range to a Bosch 750wh, it has to be bigger than 600wh

Possibly they've done a proprietary battery, but that has ended in tears for most companies to try it.
I'd think more likely someone detuned the hell out of turbo mode, shotgunned a couple redbulls, and let it rip.

But the same person rode the Bosch, and got the same range. It clearly says they tuned both motors to the same power, output etc so it has to be bigger than 600wh

Lots of the Amflow videos, Will Greenfield, MBR, etc have around 1400m, Sam got 1650 with the 800Wh in Turbo, it's very subjective. I think the Wild came with the 750Wh just for Aesthetics, that 800 bosch is a bit chunky. I don't think there's any logic behind the comparison to a 750Wh other that that's what they had

The logic is it has the same range as a Bosch 750wh. So it has to be very close to it in wh. Especially when they made an effort to state they tuned the DJI to match the Bosch output

I don't think you'll be cancelling it due to the battery size, just a shame they can't fully announce any real numbers yet.

stupid ppl are gonna set power and torque the same as bosch and will complain then that they drained the battery before they reach 1000m of elevation, mark my words

I spite of @Weeksy saying that I'm a Deliveroo rider ;) might be interested in a couple of V2 frame only deals (if they become available) so that can move our nice bits over to them. Possibly.

I think it's more down to that being what they had before. The current Wild still uses the 750 with the gen 5 so they could have a thinner downtube. The 800 Bosch is chunky. It could easily be a 700 with a slighlty more efficient motor or an 800Wh with less efficient motor we'll have to wait I guess. It does seem a lot less likely that it's a 600 which is good for me

Proprietary then ?
This isn't a good thing, that means it'll either be heavy, or prone to spontaneous combustion :p.
Or perhaps the information I'm getting from behind the curtains is wrong, and dji is a year ahead of schedule with the 65a's. Which would be great, and likely a deathblow to the other power system manufacturers.

There are bigger batteries due this year from Avinox but I was under the impression it would be later in the year.

No idea if it’s true but I’ve been told the new Amflow battery sizes are still 600 and 800 but the cells are different and more efficient.

Yup, with the 65 cells.
Next product cycle was my understanding (2027).
Which makes the Atherton thing confusing. Weight of a 600, with the capacity of a 750 ?
Smells like advertising.

Just read the fine print... bummer for down here in Oz... might have to lean on some contacts I have at Atherton...
"Apparently, in 2026, only customers in the UK and EU will be able to order eMTBs from Atherton, with global distribution planned at a later date."

And there you go... now onto the 3rd pre order... first two sold out.

Looks like they are going like hot cakes... and still only the EU and UK... imagine when they open it up to the rest of the world..🤞🤨

Feck me, I can't believe all of this bollix over an emtb motor. Anyone would think it was special to a 'war effort' and needed to be kept hush, hush for fear of losing the war.
What a load of tosh, just say what it is and be done with it. Embargo, my arse. 🙄

As long as you pay the fines and potential lost business because of breaking a legal contract ?

I'm not having a go at the likes of Atherton and other bike manufacturers here, just Avinox as it's an e-bike motor, not 'The Precious'. The whole embargo thing is ridiculous, anyone would think Avinox is being run by 8 year olds in a school playground. 🙄
