Who's missing the point now :)

Anyone CAN enjoy the new bike of course.. But Athertons are not building Voodoo Bizangos and Deliveroo riders ain't their market IMO.

Here's a pic of me making a Deliveroo delivery, so no Atherton bike for me!

Someone at Atherton might have told me that the Avinox M2 motor is so fast that when you're riding the S170e no shadow is cast
I really hope it's efficient. I don't want anything over 80nm. I just want massive elevation. My Whyte elyte with the extender can do 5500ft and 30 miles. So needs to beat that

Don't worry someone else at Atherton may or may not have told me that the new Avinox controller has so much pity for fools that it jumps straight from 31st March to 2nd April

You tell that someone at Atherton that someone online told you to tell them that someone needs to put a more balanced f/r ratio on the 170 in the larger sizes please :).

I gave them a call today to check a few things like seatpost size (31.6) and to check I have the right size bike. They said they are going to put out some more range information with comparisons to other bikes. Hopefully, using a few different people for comparison this week. I think they mentioned the Orbea wild which I was in the video and when I looked that has a 750Wh battery so it will be interesting to see the comparison. It will be useful for me coming off a Vala with the same motor and 600Wh

I hope they put Lloyd on it for a range comparison. I'm say saying no more than that

How tall are you? What size did you go for?

The important info:
Early results from Dyfi

These are real rides in the Dyfi Valley. If you know the terrain, you know how demanding it is.

Hard, fast laps

We are consistently seeing around 1400 metres of climbing from a full charge. In our controlled testing, the Bosch Gen 5 benchmark bike (750Wh battery) was run in its default tune Turbo mode. The Avinox system on the S.170E was configured to match that output exactly, alongside normalised rider input, ascent speed and bike setup. Under these conditions, both bikes delivered almost identical elevation from a single charge. (Rider weight: 75kg)

Big backcountry days

We have completed multiple rides with over 2900 metre of elevation with the Avinox motor tuned to match the default Eco mode on the Bosch Gen 5. That's over 5 hours in the saddle, and a lot of laps! We are continuing to validate this against our benchmark, but in Dyfi terrain this is a serious day out. (Rider weight: 75kg)

By sharing these early results, we hope to give a clear picture of what this bike is capable of in real conditions. We will continue to release more data as testing develops, including comparisons in dynamic and automatic modes, as well as full power scenarios where we explore the upper limits of the Avinox system's output.

ALso they compare to bosch gen 5 with 750wh? I thought the 750wh battery was a gen 4 battery?

ah, so gen 5 motor with gen 4 battery. seems an odd mix

What do you think they mean by “ didn’t chase the biggest batt” From what I understand the MK 2 Motor has the same Batts as the MK1.
Because the largest existing is 800.

The newer largest is bigger than that.

But there's a new format battery due out, which is in this bike. (This has all been discussed in detail and seemingly forgotten)

Im guess the battery must be bigger than 600 but smaller than 800. Hence they use a bosch 750 to compare it with.

There is evidence that's the case though. All internet gossip. If there is proof, show it

Sorry,. can't tell you more. Can only tell you what I've said above, but the correct answer is already in the thread.

Edit.. oops, the answer is in the parallel thread.

No one is gonna show any proof of any new Avinox stuff considering the strict NDAs that are in place.
