There are a number of threads that discuss the "best multitool" on the forum, but I am hoping to gather some instutitonal knowledge here about a multi-tool that has everything a Gen 3 turbo levo needs (without a lot of extra).

Do any of you 2022 Turbo Levo owners have a preferred multi-tool?

I have a Specialized multitool, but it's missing the 2.5 hex, what is needed to remove the brake pads.
I'm looking for one of roughly the same size and similar features, where is that 2.5 hex.
 
The Topeak Folding Tool Hexus X multi tool has a 2.5 hex and lots more besides. I have one of these and I had a similar one for 20 years before it.

Look for this one, with the chain tool: (the key word is "Hexus")

With both those you can pretty much cope with anything on the trail that could be expected.
 
How much does the complete SWAT tool cost including the stem thing it fits into that has the chain breaker built in it?

My 2022 Expert came with the SWAT tools. That is lame if they didn't include them with some models. But I would probably just buy the SWAT tool and chain breaker that should have come with yours. They are nicely integrated and easy to access, so you don't have to carry tools in a pack or strapped to your bike. I can access my tool in literally 2 seconds. Or the OneUp EDC headset-integrated tool that someone mentioned here is very nice in that way too.
 
I have the swat tool in my Levos but I prefer the OneUp EDC tool because the chainbreaker is in the removable tool rather than faffing around with dropping the bottom section like in the swat. You can also store the tool in a pump and have it all in one if you don’t want the weight in the headset.

Which ever you choose integrated tools are the way to go.

Cheers, I was wanting to know as I have a brand new one and was thinking of selling it but didn't know what it was worth new.
 
I epoxyed this EMT 9 specialised tool to the underside of my Ergon saddle. 2022 alu Levo that came with no tool.

Here it is for £8 !

Bontrager BITS is another good option. you gain the brake pad hex but lose the spare links.
I like the OneUP EDC HOWEVER it is quite fiddly and takes too much time IMO as I keep dropping the pieces with gloves.

Agreed. OneUp EDC is great in that it has most everything you need in one kit, including chain tool, but it is way more fiddly than just having the SWAT multi bits tool instantly available. IMO Specialized made the right call in keeping the chain tool separate. I use the main tool easily 20x more often than the chain tool, so it's a good tradeoff to have multi tool super accessible, and chain tool out of the way, if more inconvenient to access.

My Merida eOne-Sixty (great bike) came with a multi tool that slots underneath the saddle, very much like the one in your post. The whole thing (tools and carrier) started to rust quite quickly. So I removed it, cleaned and treated it. It now sits waiting to be refitted when I come to sell the bike, along with the uncomfortable saddle the bike came with.
 
I had searched quite a bit for a multitool that included the 2mm hex (Shimano rear derailleur limit screws & special garmin mount on top of my ahead screw) and most importantly the chain tool as well (never go riding without one unless you can get to your house/car/whatever easily), and that I can also fit somewhere on my bike.
I eventually ended up buying the Topeak Ninja Master+ Toolbox T16, which you can fit underneath your (Topeak Ninja) bottle cage. It ticked all the boxes.
However it has a major flaw, the 4mm L-type wrench used for the 6mm bit is too weak and I simply snapped it when I tried to unthread the wheels. I did get a free of cost replacement for it, but I don't trust it anymore and now carry a separate 4mm hex wrench with me that I can use instead. And I've replaced the rear and front axles to versions with a lever instead.

I have a new steer tube SWAT kit. Came with my 22 frame set. Never installed as I wanted to try the OneUp (had the SWAT on my 2019). If someone is interested in it let me know. Located stateside (California)

I do have a large mudhugger rear which catches most of the winter muck. Its been fitted a while now.
