2025 Norco Sight VLT CX

Not sure about this Range's colour scheme the body language chassis kinda reminiscent to the first edition Range Vlt C1 2020. Sure the obvious geo stuff and newer hp and l guess the Sight from my understanding is is is possibly this ?

Then chances are iv been checking in on many dji set ups where refining on designs synchronised and balanced.

Cant help but think here now creating on thought forms of judgments.

Norco is this really a Range.... a bigger travel hitting bike?

Created thought form suggestion, open to your line up the 190mm hp Shore......

This arrived today.
Think that I am the first to get one.
I've found nothing online of them yet.
I'll post my experience and real life pics after this weekend riding.

It's a soft launch in nz...

I'm the first person on one.
They aren't allowed to advertise it yet either.
I'll do some measuring and riding and report back..
Upgraded to schwalbe and hope gr brakes.

Gotta love new bike day.

Bike-stats.de.

Or in simple terms; a bit slacker, more stack, shorter reach, longer WB, higher BB & slacker STA.
I hope with a different linkage it will stay almost the same. I bought the bike on the small side. An even smaller reach would not let me upgrade the bike to this. The bike will be to small.

Tech docs imply there is no difference in the frame, it just has a 65mm stroke & is rated for a 596mm a2c fork (which is a 180mm Zeb or 38).

Yes frame is the same.
They were originally going to do the sight st (short travel) and LT (long travel) but decided to keep the range name going.....

I really like the new paint scheme. Please post the weight.

I have an Antidote on order but if that didn't work out and I was able to get my DP back, the VLT or the Regulator are my next 2 options. Still, I want the Antidote as it hits all of my points, and I've already invested in a lot of parts to build it up.

I'm really liking the Sight, but as noted the sizing it throwing me. I'm 174 cm and typically run a medium. Coming off a 170/160 mm SCOR 4060z LT, which has been super fun, surprisingly playful and capable. My main rig, prior to eMTB, is a Firebird (468 reach and 1250 WB). However, I'm finding the reach, WB and top tube on the SCOR to be very pleasant (460/1230/590).

I wonder if a S3 Sight is going to be more a plow'y than my FB.... between the HP, longer WB and added weight of being an eMTB obviously.

I found the added weight on the SCOR definitely made it more sure-footed in certain scenarios and obviously the motor helps mask the weight in others. It felt more like a long-leg'd trail bike than an enduro. As in, the extra weight added stability even though its a shorter WB.

Great ride today.
Stiffer and more responsive than my Gen 2 range vlt.
Handles switchbacks much better.
Low bb. Few strikes, nothing bad though.
Never felt too long I'm 6ft sz4.
Still dialing suspension, usually use ride aligned but can't yet obviously.
Range was insane.
Really steep winch and plummet riding and park laps.
3hrs without using lift and boosting up hills. Trail mode down and trailing.
Super fun direct bike and sizing is correct for my height.
Weight 24.6kg with downhill Tyres pedals and hope brakes 220mm vented rotors both ends

It depends on your body.

I'm 1.75 and put on a 50mm stem on the S2 and it's perfect for me. S3 reach seems way to long for me on paper. But you can always slap on a bigger fork and make the reach shorter. I can't do that now. Otherwise it would be to less reach.

My other bike is propain tyee with 450 reach size M.

Before that yt jeffsy size L with 470 reach. That thing was a tank for me. I like to be on the bike not in the bike. Makes me feel small.

Sure, I've thought about that... I run 50 mm stems on my smaller trail bikes. On bigger ones, I'm liking 35-40mm stems. I've run a 468 mm reach on the FB (w/ 42mm stem) for a few years and it works good, albeit a bit more "IN" than "ON".

I'd probably either overfork and/or 35 mm stem and/or reach adjust headset if option.

I saw your earlier post about sizing down to a S2, which made me think. Then again, I remember when I first demo'd the Firebird I tried a size small and medium, because the small was closer in sizing to my older bike. The small Firebird felt like a high-chair, riding in a clown car. Whereas the medium immediately felt better.

Isn't it crazy we have got to the point we have so much choice we nit pick over 10mm!
Spoilt for choice I'd say!

To be fair... Norco's sizing is "out there", maybe in-line with another progressive Canadian manufacturer (Knolly). I compiled a list of 150-170 mm AM/Enduro bikes I'm familiar with (SC, Transition, Pivot, Yeti, Evil, Druid, Amflow, Orbea, RM, Crestline, Trek, Propain, Specialized) which cover the more popular brands in the US. I've heard it mentioned in multiple reviews too, specifically the S4 having XL reach, but short WB.

Even compared to other HPs (RM & Druid), the combination of reach and stack is largest of ALL bikes I compared in S3/medium. Also find it interesting, Norco carries the same reach across bike from 130 to 160 mm travel.

Anyway, its my only quibble... because it checks a lot of boxes. 450-465 mm reach & 1230-1240 WB would make it a no brainer and I wouldn't worry about trying to demo sizes.

Yeah it's long on paper.

Not trying to upset anyone at all. Just having ridden bikes for 30 years I never dived into detail in those days like we all do now, that was more what I was getting at.
Also in my experience as a lanky old boy this didn't feel any longer than my 2022 range vlt large.
Climbing it actuallt felt shorter but has longer dropper so guessing this helped set me up better.

Coincidently, my buddy has an alloy '22 Range VLT (medium). We swapped bikes for a bit on one ride. However, my only impression was during climbing and flatter/traverse. What stood out, seated, the cockpit felt tight and like sitting on a high stool. I think he had a 40mm stem and even high riser bars, like 40 mm. Didn't get a chance to ride any proper DH or funky bits...

He notes, his range is a tank, like 65 lbs I recall. To be fair, its a 170/180... I'd expect it to be "bigger" than a 150/160. Per the geo chart he sent me, his range has a 1267 WB, 445 reach, 632 stack and 598 top tube.

So there must be a different linkage? Otherwise it's not possible I guess.

I confused myself, in that Spudley got a new gen Range and was comparing his experience on the prior one. I thought he was on a new Sight.

I was comparing, my buddies prior gen Range and my experience on it… looking at Sight geo and not Range. Not that there's much difference between current Range and Sight geo (0.5 degree HTA , 5-7 mm here and there)

Yeah I bet the alloy is crazy heavy.
The carbon is already heavy. Mine is 1330 long and does not like tight switchbacks at all.
It's bloody fast on dh tracks though!
Had a few KOM until the lightweight ebikes started smashing them off.....

Nice to see this new Range - although the weight seems quite high, even given the spec. I thought the Sight was under 22kg?

You say that, quite a lot of heavy parts on there, assuming the spec is otherwise stock from the parts listed. Wheels are heavy, brakes are heavy, XT wireless isn’t light, those stock Praxxis cranks weigh a tonne, so does the TransX dropper, etc.

My Sight, which is essentially a Range (170mm Zeb / 65mm stroke Vivid Air) is under 22kg & I haven’t compromised the build anywhere, just picked lighter, strong parts.
