2020 rear mud guard

Binned the huge hugger,I hated it,so decided to sort a solution.
First off I got some smaller tyres, pair of high rollers in 2.3 as they were on offer and ideal for muddy wet conditions.
Lots of clearance now front and rear.
Used a fork mudguard and then cut some tube and attached that to the 2 small bolts on the motor casing.
Fitted my fork splash shield which I prefer to a huge mudguard.

Little update on this rear guard.
It didn't work as it jams on the frame after a large hit, so the lower section needs to be longer..
Now modded with an extension , worked fine on way home from work

If you have enough space due to smaller tires - use only one front mudhugger - without an additional part fixed by motor-screws.
The lower section must be long enough to ensure that it is not free when the shock is fully compressed.
Works for me since many month.

Fitted the new V2 version of sicomtb mudguards now that 3D rendered it so you take out the plastic bit completely and it's an absolute gem. After buying it last week everything would go in there which annoyed me so the hunt was on, came across this and today not a spec of mud in there and easy to fit

I need a bit of help here, I've mounted a SICOMTB Mudguard V2 on my Levo Comp 2020. However, its getting worse, the gravel is bombarding the lower swing, see attached pictures. I am not impressed with the Mudguard so far...any help or suggestions to mitigate this issue?

That's not great for a product designed to protect the bike.
Have you informed @SicoMTB ?
I'd think about either using thick helicopter/gorilla tape like the stuff you get with Mudhugger guards, or perhaps putting back the plastic guard and fitting a trimmed down Central Coast guard instead of the bottom section of the SicoMTB V2.
I'd previously thought about getting a @SicoMTB guard for my 2020 expert, but didn't like the high price, or the fact you have to remove that little plastic protection piece.
IMHO it would be useful if they would just sell the top section separately

After looking at a few options for the Levo 2020 with 2.6 tyre and found that it was not that easy to fit a mud guard and one that have good coverage I installed the Carbon effect sicomtb rear mud guard.
The fit looks tight but I have had no problems. Occasionally a small rock will will stick to the tyre and you can hear it hit the mud guard but it will come off. I have done around 70 miles. No damage to the mud guard.
I have not yet tried in very muddy conditions as it has not been raining that much in in Scotland. The bike comes back from the ride much cleaner.
Installation was easy.
The mud guard looks much better than I thought. it is expensive but it seems to do the job especially protecting the motor housing.
Granted it’s. 2019, but I have a 2.6 Eddie Current on and it’s fits just fine.

I have a RRP pro front mud guard fitted to the rear, it took some fettling but managed to get it snugly in.
Underneath I have a small enduro which has been trimmed to avoid the chain rubbing but protects a build up on the pivots.

I ordered a V2 also and didn't like that it doesn't protect the Frame like the older version. I ended up ordering a V1 and going down a tire size. I minion DHR2 29x2.4 fits perfect. A 27.5x3.0 also fits perfect.

sorry for the delay in reply buddy the lights are by an Australian company called ay-up lighting I have had them approx 8 years and they still run like new absolute amazing I have 3 sets you can even have them flashing and with blue and red caps it looks like I’m a copper from behind lol
It’s job is to protect the pivot joint and to keep mud out of the motor.

MY first attempt ...
1 muddy ride and 1 loam ride and it has worked a charm... nothing got in under the flap . Rather pleased with the result.
Got the idea off this forum, can't remember who but thank you in nonetheless.

found a A4 sheet of 2mm rubber... cut it out to fit .. only problem is finding double sided tape that is strong enough ....

I did something similar mainly as a test after I got a small rock stuck in the pivot point. I used a piece cut out of an old tire with a strip of Gorilla tape at the top. It doesn't look near as clean as your design, but it had the same result of nothing getting under the flap. IMO this is a great approach. Now I'm going to have to do another version that looks even half as good as yours.

Sticky backed velcro works fine
