I generally try and stay off forms for the most part these days, but saw this and wanted to chime in. That’s a massive increase. Expected is about 10%. There are two contributing factors that could be likely. One, something is up with your shock. I doubt that is the case. Two, to be honest there is not enough clearance between the bearing spacers and the stock link. I’ve seen plenty of wear marks on stock linkages. The pressure increase is only a downside for heavier riders that would then be over max pressure. There is nothing inherently wrong with pressure increase. That is precisely why I don’t really frequent forms much anymore haha. I actually like this link more than a typical one on account of it being the first one in a while where it doesn’t feel like the majority of people that haven’t ridden it think it’s dumb though. At the end of the day we really want to make a thing that people can throw on their bike and notice in a positive way and reading the negative stuff is a fast track to getting burnt out.Thanks for your input! I doubt I blew the internals on it with such low miles and no real abuse. It is the high end PL Pro shock. I did not feel a lot of difference when messing with low speed compression however. So ill keep it in mind but bike has been performing excellent at high speed. But I constantly was at the end of the shocks travel. And that was without hard landings but definitely fast through rock gardens.your shock.

Right. I probably had the shock at the low side of where it should have been. I have a Ohlins ttx22m with a 605lb coil due in 2 ish weeks. That will be interesting to see. Its not this new link that could have caused a 70 lb differenceThat’s a huge difference in air pressure needed for the sag.
Im sure it will be how can it not? its the cheapest 10mm ive paid for. And I use everything I put on as hard as it can be used. last two years ive logged close to 10,000 miles and climbed 1,300,000' in elevation on single track, and I ride with world class athletes.At the end of the day we really want to make a thing that people can throw on their bike and notice in a positive way

So I started with too low a pressure anyway, and todays rde it was a little to stiff and i was still 15mm from the end of travel, so pressure is a hair too high, ill drop it 15 and im sure I was 15 low which puts me right in that 10% rangeI’ve raised the pressure of just 10 psi
Regarding the head tube angle there is a mistake due to having taken the misure in a rush. The actual ones are 63,5 in 29” setting and 64 in 27,5” setting. Mullet set-upReceived Cascade link today.

I’ve tried the “29”” setting just to verify if there is some interference at full stroke (135mm full compressed shock length) and it seems to be fine. The only downside is that with this setting and with a 170mm fork the head angle goes down to 62,3 so I ended up going for 27,5” setting (63 degrees)

Cascade given the nature of what they do, and how they do it, plus it's cheaper here in North America. Not sure what anyone is thinking...Surely it would be Cascade given their track record with various other linkages they have brought to market.

The link adds 10mm which you do not notice that much. With the cascade you will need a spring 50lbs heavier. Im 190lbs and I run a 650lb spring and its just right in the middle range. The 605 was way to light and was bottoming out on fire roads. If you have a good air shock the coil is not a huge upgrade. But it does suck up the smaller chatter better, everything is a bit more refined. Id do it again if I had to do it over. But its not like going from the 36 to the 38, that was a pretty substantial upgrade.Anyone running a coil with the cascade link? Happy to hear any impressions![]()
