    Pin hole in wheel ?

Had a nasty wreck today and apon inspection of bike, found this hole in wheel that actually looks to perfect to be trail damage. Any explanation ? Wheel is a Bontrager line comp 30.

    Had scary crash today.

Wow, yeah I'm 60 but always ride with my brother (57). That wreck looks worse than mine, heel up my man.

    Had scary crash today.

Handle bar hit a tree and sent me flying over a 4ft embankment, landed square on my back with 50lb bike crashing on top. Fate was on my side as I avoided all the jagged rocks and landed in leaves and dirt. Was left with minor bruises and bike had a bent brake lever. Stay safe.

Trek Rail 7 vs Trek Rail 9.7

Surprisingly, I've found the weight added more stability. Made the transition seamlessly coming from a 21 lb race bike.......yes, the momentum is a major player here.

    Review 2021 TREK 9.7 Rail

I whole heartily agree with your comments. 60 here on a Trek Rail 7 and started riding trails again that I've not ridden in years, bike handles outstanding and confidence inspiring. If you see my truck, there likely be a Rail on back.

Sweet bike ?. Have the same motor and battery and agree, the mileage is insane. Put 124 mi on my Rail 7 in one month, consisting of all mountain trail riding.

How far do you drive with your bike?

I got into mountain biking 30 years ago because we have lots of mountain ?‍♂️. Every weekend the brother and I pick a different trail but we definitely have our favorites. I've driven to other states to visit family with bike aboard but back home the trail systems are so vast it take years to...

Yeah, battery technology has come along ways.?

    New Rail

    This is a L Rail 7 with 1/4" of clearance.....1mm seems tight.

Have you had your eeb derestricted?

Been an avid mtnbiker for 30 years but just recently reached the 100 mile mark on a Trek Rail 7. My top speed in the rugged terrain that I ride has been 22 mph and average of 4.5 so de-restriction would never be a requirement nor would power. 95% riding in Eco mode and bump up to tour to keep...

First full ride on my Trek Rail 7!

Just approached 80 miles on my Trek Rail 7 and like you, Eco mode seems to be the holy grail in the mountains. My riding partner (brother) is an absolute beast on a mtnbike and at 140 lbs, would leave me in the dust.....not any more. ?‍♂️

    Is OFF the new ECO?

That's it in a nut shell. We have steep mountainous terrain where I've often pushed a 21lb XC bike.......off is not an option.

What's your analogue bike look like ?

Lefty love but haven't ridden either in 2021 since owning Trek Rail

Newbie thinking of changing hardtail to full suss

It's all about personal preference......my preferred bike is FS. I own a hardtail and dust it off occasionally but it spends most of its life in hibernation.

Time to get used to the weight?

I can really feel the weight when loading and unloading my Trek Rail 7 on the back of my truck, thing is a beast. Very different story on the trail once I learned to use pedal assist to my advantage and in conjunction with brakes. The extra weight makes the bike much more planted and...
