I was on the Velduro website last night...for the US frameset, it looks like a fairly large window from late Fall to late Spring delivery plans and $8500 NZ = roughly $5k+/- USD...I've emailed them for confirmation. Then add our dumb US 15% tariff on NZ = $750 (this could been a new RS Vivid shock---we only punch ourselves in the nuts😵) for $5,750. Velduro said on my FB account last month that they were securing US service sites...they didn't say if that was bike shops certified to service DJI or what...its been cryptic messaging at best.😜
you got that wrong, the foreigner pays that tariff, lol

Pretty standard in the UK, although you often get it back if you buy a bike.
Such a wildly different experience here, companies are happy to have people actually come and test their bikes, on demo days they often have raffles, free food or other incentives for customers.

Though if you arrange for an individual test with a LBS, there's often a small deposit or fee which gets refunded in case of purchase...

Really looking forward to seeing more about this. It does tick all my boxes, including provision to run a cable derailleur, unlike unno. Boo.
Disappointingly the spec did list a 4A charger though, so the fast charger will be an additional expense, like the forbidden.

Here's the latest US info via my FB account yesterday:
✔️Not shipping to USA, but directly setting up US based distribution for support.
✔️Offering frameset no confirmation on price. I assume their Website price at around $5,100 USD
✔️Probably not sooner than Winter sounds like Spring/Summer.

Thanks for passing along what you’ve learned. I’ll be curious to hear #1, how the bike rides, and #2, what the US distribution/support model ends up looking like.
If I had to guess, I’d say the price will be higher due to going through a distributor. We’ll see.

If a High Pivot Avinox 800w battery frame only could be sold for around $5K in the USA, that would be amazing and almost certainly my next frame.

Yep! My worry too, markup. Plus, tariffs? Positives are "local" support but I may cost "extra".😜

Took this snapshot from YT from a bike supplier in Spain. It looks like Velduro had two bike trims in mind - the "R" probably stands for race and looks to be close to what Velduro is spec-ing for the bike setup. The geometries on these pages appear way off (and not in a good way) of what's on the official site, so I expect these pages are outdated. Still what's interesting is the target weight for R version: under 50lbs with alloy rims, Mavens, and electronic shifting ain't bad at all. With carbon upgrades, Berds, and lighter tires, 46lbs could be achievable.

Saw a post on pedelecs forum. What a shit forum 🤣.

£4299 for a frame set seems a bit unrealistic to me, the UK price for my SB165 frame was more than that! I mean if that’s what they’re going to sell them for then I’ll take 2😂🤣

Here what they sent me regarding the frame only option shipped to California

Hi Robert,

Long time no contact! hope you are well! We spent long time to explore the proper USA distributor, but couldn't find yet. We can send the prodcut to you from our China base. but it seems high tariff there. 55% for ebikes.

For the frame only, if we sell to you from China base directly, saves dealer profit etc. Include the air freight cost and tax, the retail price is USD6900. You pay USD3900(incldue air fright) to us is fine. You pay tax when DHL call you to clear custom.

Please confirm if you are ok with it. If so pay deposit, then can secure the the 1st batch we deliver in Nov
Interesting....was that China direct factory that makes the Rogue for Velduro then? But yeah, the tariff (embargo really at this point) is a real dilemma....I'd hoped that if it came from NZ only at 15% tariffs, which they won't ship due to battery costs apparently.

So, I guess $7k gets you a frameset that's decent in quality, or the Forbidden (USA) e-Dreadnought 170mm arrives next Spring a premium frame and entry-level componentry for $7.5 k I think? maybe? Hell, I'm just guessing from Druid release price point?🤯

Thanks for posting...I'm definitely outta the hunt unless tariffs go back to 10%.😜 But who knows could be a 🌮 soon.

I have a couple of mates semi interested. I might rip over (7 hour round trip) and have a look. But not if nobody else wants to go because i wont be buying one..... But am keen to test and compare to my crestline.
So, are you making the the trek?

I guess that will be without a shock. Also hope thats vat inclusive. Annoyingly uses trunnion so my 230x65 ohlins or ext shocks won't fit. Nor my oneup droppers as they are 34mm rather than the 31mm seat tube on this.
Looks like we will get the full picture though within a month or so.

Anyone thought about sizing yet?
I used to be 6', but nearer 5 10.5' (178cm) when i was measured recently 😲, putting me on a med rather than the large.
Certainly its a lot shorter bike than my current kenevo with a 495mm reach. Makes me think the current bike is too long? It doesn't feel too long, bit cumbersome perhaps, but ive never tried an s3 in anger.
Almost feels like im between sizes. Reaches do seem to be being reigned back in over the past few years though.
Thinking back my favourite non ebikes over the years have been nearer 460mm. Wonder if the uk importer will have any demo bikes despite only selling frames initially.
EDIT actually the large is pretty identical to my ksl in s4 and that feels great, so maybe i should ignore velduro's recommendations.

Trying to get more details about shipping to USA :
  1. Who is your contact? Is it Velduro directly or by FB, or the OEM manufacturer in China, or some other distributor?
  2. Does the $3900 include air freight or is air freight extra?
  3. Does the frame include the battery? I assume so but need to confirm.
  4. If 3, Will the battery be shipped with the frame or will it be shipped separately?
  5. Any other details you can provide would be great.
pdq has not replied to DM, hence I'm posting questions here if anyone else may be in know.

Interesting article on the company and bike development.

I personally like this bike a lot more than the E-Druid and I'm going to have to place it on my very short list: The Regulator CX, the Spectre, & the Velduro. All 3 standout to me in unique ways, but this one really hits the most points.

This thing is a really intriguing prospect.
