You've clearly not read this thread, but there's no such thing as solid state batteries.just saw something about the new surron light bee 2 comes with a new semi solid state battery. I know we all hate surrons, but wonder if that tech will make it over to emtb sooner than expected
Idk crap about batteries and yes I just regurgitated what I saw in a YouTube video that was touting the new battery techYou've clearly not read this thread, but there's no such thing as solid state batteries.
All current batteries are technically already semi solid state batteries, you are drinking the marketing koolaid being set in front of you.
Sorry, it gets old, the marketing shenanigans...lol relax man. Pretty aggressive there. Idk crap about batteries and yes I just regurgitated what I saw in a YouTube video that was touting the new battery tech
I mean I’m sure it’s not the exact same as their last battery, so could be something there. Just figured you battery nerds would be interested in digging into it. I honestly don’t care. Figured some people on here would find it worth looking intoSorry, it gets old, the marketing shenanigans...
The cells currently used in most e-bike/e-moto batteries are at least one, if not several generations behind.I mean I’m sure it’s not the exact same as their last battery, so could be something there. Alright my bad. Thought I was breaking some news for you guys haha. I’ll see myself out.The cells currently used in most e-bike/e-moto batteries are at least one, if not several generations behind.
Simply changing to molicell 65's would result in a capacity and charge speed upgrade for every current battery, including the avinox's. And they drop right in to the existing battery packaging formats. They've been commercially available for over a year.
E-bike's are one of the last places you will see new battery tech.
Hence my eye rolling at the "new" semi solid surron batteries...
They are almost certainly simply using this off the shelf cell.

There actually is such a thing as semi solid state. It has a definition. You've clearly not read this thread, but there's no such thing as solid state batteries.

If you mean the Molicel M65A, that's sort of true, but it's really hard to get hold of them, especially in large quantities. What's definitely true is that most brands have chosen high-ish capacity, slow-charging cells (usually the LG M58T) rather than lower-capacity, fast-charging ones, which is not good for those of us who use more than one battery's capacity in a day.The cells currently used in most e-bike/e-moto batteries are at least one, if not several generations behind.
