Thought I would add to my previous post before I take wifey out for a nice dinner since she's been very understanding to all the time I spent on this project.
Had an awesome 25 mile ride today on a trail that I really enjoy riding and was able to get a much better understanding of how the Zendit performs.
This bike shreds! Was super impressed with the kinematics of the suspension on the techy climbs and tight switchbacks. The downhill aspects didn't disappoint either. It likes to run fast, but stays smooth.
Seen a couple videos where the reviewer said you had to be an "active" rider to steer and move this bike around and it wasn't the greatest on tight switchbacks, but that wasn't the case with me. Sure some of the components I'm using play a part, but the Zendit was really easy to handle and performed exactly as I hope based upon the frame size/component specs.
I was a surprised how active and agile it is and was popping off berms and drops. Haven't ridden an air shock in a long time and the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate is a better shock then the MRP Hazard I had on my 2025 Wild.
I've ridden several different emtbs on this same exact ride and the Zendit performed the best out of all of them. Been riding my Bosch Gen 5 powered Crestline S180 and 2025 Orbea Wild on this ride over last year and I would say the Zendit performs closest to the Wild, but climbs much better (obviously it's a different motor) and handles the chunky stuff almost as good as the Crestline.
As I stated previously, I tried some new components on this bike versus what I spec'ed on my previous bikes. The Hope EVO GR4 brakes with the Galfer rotors are awesome! The braking power and modulation is incredible!
I am enjoying the Schwalbe radials as well. Lowered the psi and made some changes to the psi and compression on the new Zeb and it's dialed it. On the surface it performs like the previous model and I would say its a little more plush, yet supportive.
Related more to the suspension design itself, I'm drinking the kool-aid on all the technology Mondraker put into this bike. The rear is very stable on climbs and has excellent small bump compliance.
@Rob Rides EMTB, your video review of the Zendit was spot on and think you would have enjoyed it even more if the bike you tested had the 2027 RockShox Zeb Ultimate.
@Suns_PSD hope this information helps. Know you love your Wild and rightfully so. It's an awesome bike and once you heal up, will be interested in hearing your thoughts.
My new Crestline RS181.2 is due soon and will be set up as a dh sleigh. After riding the Zendit the question lingers, do I "need" the new Wild since the 3 bikes are so similar.
Well, want and need are 2 different things and we'll have to wait and see
