Mondraker Zendit Avinox

You haven’t ridden the Carve tho have you ?
Also my last bike was a Druid Core with 170 fork with very similar geo as the Zendit, it was perfect for every trail as bpw , I can’t think of one that’s so tight the Zendit would struggle on your talking like the Medium Large is about 3 meters long 🤣
I’m also not going on reviews but on people who I know who have the bike and that’s 3 as of now who all describe it completely opposite from you.

To claim a bike is no good for a bike park like BPW is just daft when it’s literally made for that place and such like.

As stated from the beginning you clearly like trail bikes so this isn’t for you.
As stated many times, ive ridden the karve.

I ride a dh bike every week, Iive been bpw twice in two years. Im at dyfi every week.
Of course you can ride the zendit there, is it the best bike for bpw, no. A trail bike is more suited. Its more an uplifted trail center than a bike park.

I dont really understand your last statement., but ok

As of Sunday according to your post you looked at the Carve you didn’t ride it ….

You say the Zendit is just a plow everyone else says otherwise and your basing this on the geo numbers which on the medium large are very similar to the the LTE you have in Large.

Infact the wheelbase you keep mentioning as being that of a downhill bike is practically the same as your Yeti , it’s 1286 and yours is 1282 !!

To many contradictions unfortunately so hopefully anyone reading the comments who is thinking of buying the Zendit will take with a pinch of salt, sounds to me more like you wanted a new Avinox bike but jumped the gun and bought the Yeti version (lovely looking bike btw) the LTE , Zendit, Velduro and new Athey are all enduro based bikes with very similar geo and purpose and I wouldn’t hesitate in buying any of them for uk riding

I have bought a Karve EVO RSX and customised it, delivery is supposed to be June. As a bang average rider, I think a lot of these new bikes are amazing and much of a muchness, which one you choose is basically down to personal chose....similar thing to BMW vs Merc. For me and my ability these new bikes and their differences will be hardly noticeable, we are lucky to be in a position to be able to afford and ride them. Im sure there might be better bikes out there than the Karve in someone's opinion, but im am absolutely buzzing that I am getting one and cannot wait to ride mine

No contradictions anywhere. As stated many times, the ml is too small. The large is a boat. Has a much longer wheelbase than the yeti. I actually had an Atherton on first wave order and cancelled it. I'm very glad I went bosch again in the end. I loved the yeti when I had it for a week but went Atherton as I rode the park every week. In the end I am very happy with my decision. I have also ridden the atherton. I made the right choice.

Has anyone fitted an EThirteen Bash onto their Zendit yet (or figured out a way to provide a bit of protection to the chainring?

From what I can glean, its needs the full 3 pc assembly + the upper slider that may or may not fit on the Mondraker specific mount.

H1900 are st swiss budget offering. Not even welded rim. Meant for softer trail riding. They aren't suitable for what the mondraker is aimed at
Agree 💯! Just ordered this bike, couldn't get the RR S model, so I got the RR and am literally replacing every part on this bike to meet my picky expectations.

Understand this isn't an economical wise decision and fortunately $ isn't a consideration for me.

Going with Industry Nine Hydra 2 Enduro 300 wheelset, full SRAM XO Transmission drivetrain, AXS dropper, Hope EVO GR4 brakes, Rockshox ZEB Ultimate 2027 model and Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate 2027 shock, Industry Nine stem, Raceface Turbine pedals and Schwalbe Albert/Eddy Current radials.

Went with the size M/L Frame size (I'm 6' even) and set up as my All-mountain/climbing beast.

Have a new Crestline RS181.2 due in June-ish and am contemplating the new Avinox powered Wild once official info comes out.

Lots of great feedback on this forum and I'll post real rider feedback in ~10 days after I get a few rides in.

m/l is a large in any other manufacturers sizing. Large is actually XL.
Those m/l dimensions are almost identical to my dreadnought v2, which fits perfectly. I am 6'.
I have ridden both a m/l crafty, and a size large. Both used 200mm wolftooth v2 droppers. The zendit has more seat post insertion than the crafty.
The m/l is perfect for a 6' individual, large is more for someone in the 6'2" and up range.
I'd say most people will be fine for dropper height, other than those with very short legs and longer torsos.

My dreadnought is a scalpel in fast, tight stuff. I'd assume this will be no different.
The "plow" sensation is usually caused by a poor f/r ratio on a long wheelbase. I've experienced this on a number of bikes in the past. You'd be surprised at how agile longer wheelbases can be with good balance and geo.
You're spot in regarding m/l sizing for someone that's 6'0. I went with it have absolutely no qualms.

Kudos as well for understanding all aspects of frame geo and how it effects performance.

Getting mine set up and can't wait to ride this bad boy. I conferred with Mondraker regarding sizing and components and they bsck your thoughts all the way.

The only thing that is a disadvantage tho is the seat tube length but everything else is not odd it’s inline with most other Enduro based large bikes , at the end of the day there’s always a compromise, if you want short wheelbase then the new Amflow is great but you then loose out on travel and stability , nearly all the people that have tested that in a large have to have the chain stay at max which is then the same length as the Zendit but still it’ looses traction really easily on the rear , go to the XL and the wheelbase is longer than the M/L Zendit…..

The seat tube length and dropper insertion is more of an issue if you spend loads of time in the seat and like a straight leg when sat peddling , personally I don’t my knees are shot so I can’t straighten my legs all day so I would slam the 180 dropper as far as it will go and call it a day , Iain Richard doesn’t seem to be having any issues and he rides some pretty big steep stuff

I don’t see how a medium large anything with that geo at your height could feel like a boat ….. you said previously it felt to small ?

It just sounds like it’s the wrong bike for you want.
Agree dropper post insertion/inability to go with 200mm dropper on a M/L frame is a negative drawback. Same issue with the size Large Crestline RS181.2.

All things considered, the pro's outweighed the con's for both bikes and I'm looking forward to riding both upon arrival and set-up.

I prefer a RockShox AXS Dropper and may have been able to go with 200mm One Up dropper, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Made the same decision when I bought my Bosch Gen5 Crestline S180 and don't have once once of regret.

Sheesh, those are some bikes!

Imo, you would probably be the best source to provide unbiased comparisons between what are probably my three very favorite new e-bikes.
Let's hope that it happens!

I'll do my best to give honest, unbiased input.

You've given me some great tips and have valued your opinion on several topics and I hope to return the favor.

Hope you get better soon so you can take that new Wild out! You've got a great set up and know it must be killing you while you recover.

I've owned 2 YT Decoy's and was considering the new Avinox X model until they decided to use aluminum frames.

Maybe I'm being trivial or picky tack, but I prefer carbon frames. Also felt they kinda burned their customers.

You're absolutely right, that was a big miss by Mondraker.

I had to purchase the RR model because that was the only model currently available in my size.

Not really an issue since I planned on replacing most of the components. Used the $ I saved not buying the RR S model to purchase an upgraded Wheelset (Industry Nine Hydra 2/300 Enduro Rims) along with better drivetrain.

The H1900 Wheelset is absolute rubbish along with the pos Ethirteen budget cranks that comes on the RR model.

Fortunately I am able to use the SRAM XO cranks that came on my Crestline RS181.2 since I swapped them out fir Pinnd cranks.

Not to trash and bash Mondraker because there needs to be different pricing tiers to accommodate various rider budgets and build options but the dropper, bars and stem on the RR model are junk.

For sure it is person and size specific. Just mentioned a few things that might help you eek out some more dropper post length.
I'd be bummed if I couldn't hack my way to getting a 200mm dropper on my modem bike as at only 182cm I've been on 210s for years.
It was a factor in me not going with the newest Crestie for example.
GL
Great point about the crestie. I absolutely love AXS dropper and sacrificed the ability to go with a 200mm+ dropper because of this nonsensical personal preference.

My new Zendit arrived and after completing the minimal assembly requirements, I sat on the bike with stock components and m/l frame size seems like the right fit for my intended use. I'm 6ft even and if I was any taller, this size would be too short.

Great input BTW about SQLAB Saddle & shorter cranks to hack low insertion point.

I just don't understand the obsession with having the dropper flush. If your seat height is correct why does it matter if it's flush, or sticking out 75mm?

They do this intentionally so that shorter riders/ legs can ride the same size bike and run a shorter dropper.

The wheelbase complaint is another one I don't get, once you get the Reach correct, the chain-stay length correct, the fork travel you need & the HTA correct, the WB just is what it is. You can't adjust WB without changing one of those correct geo choices listed above.
Spot on my man!

The seat is not in the way for most people on a medium large , the standover becomes a problem on the large and XL when the seat tube is much longer , unless you have really short legs anyone at about 6 foot on the M/L wouldn’t have a problem with the seat when the post is dropped.
You seem pretty focused on the seat tube and wheelbase , if a longer wheelbase which gives stability and speed isn’t your thing and thats absolutely fair enough then it’s just not the bike for you, but for the most it will be hence why they’ve sold out already pretty much in the UK
Nicely stated!

Size wise i think i am in the minority on the M/L. I am 5’9”, and have been riding M’s since the 80’s.

On paper, the M was essentially the same as my S3 Kenevo SL, and was eagerly awaiting the med RR S my LBS had coming in, although the shop owner was convinced I’d be an M/L.

In the meantime I demo’d a couple Druid E’s, and was quite shocked to realize that the S3 (large) felt much better than the S2. I figured it was because they run a shorter reach and crazy high stack.

When the Zendit arrived, I tested the M & M/L. The M felt like my trusty Kenevo SL, but the M/L felt much better. Looking at me on the bike, my body positioning was much better too.

I rolled the dice and got the M/L. I’ve owned more than 40 mtb’s in my life, and this has by far the largest geo, and have zero regrets. It’s made me question every bike purchase. Even with the full 29 set up, I’ve had no issue on the tight, techy, steeps of the North Shore. Absolutely love it.

Sidenote, the value of the RR isn’t that great when you line it up against the Dreadnaught E that about $500 more. Very apparent after a couple rides, the wheels, base mavens, and Float X are completely underspec’d for what the bike is capable of.

Here's another hack for you if you have the AXS dropper.
The plastic on the bottom pops off and allows you to lower the dropper another 4mm if it was bottoming out at the bottom and not at the collar.

I was chatting with an industry connected person who told me Mondraker only released 50 total Zendit's in the US and small quantities in the UK & Europe.

Has anyone heard similar information from a reliable resource?

Not sure what the constraint is?

After Sea Otter Classic earlier this year, you think there would be more availability.

Kinda wonder if Orbea is missing out on sales by not releasing new Avinox powered Wild sooner?

You are getting Crestline, Zendit and potentially considering new Wild? These are bikes in the same category with same motor… you mind share the reason?

I have a Crestline and love it and my friend is interested in the zendit thus I lurk here

Most of the new avinox bikes are not in stock yet. If you order something it's September the earliest, or next year...

Yes, I currently have a Crestline S180 that I really enjoy riding and have an RS181.2 due sometime this month.

I sold my 2025 Wild and switched out for a Mondraker Zendit that is getting customized and will be ready to ride this weekend.

I really loved my previous 2 Wilds and will be settings the new one up as a full 29er.

I wanted to transition to Avinox powered emtb's and will be settings each them up with different intentions.

Crestline - Downhill/Bike Park
Zendit- All Mountain
Wild - Trail/Climbing

Each will have components specifically chosen for intended uses. Out of the 3, the RS181.2/Zendit have the most overlap but they way I'm spec'ing them will have different ride qualities.

I was really happy with my previous combination (Crestline S180/Orba Wild) and fortunate to have a bike suited for whatever trail I was riding.

I contemplated the Pivot Shuttle AMP'd and was intrigued by the new Decoy X, but I was able to get a Crestline and Zendit now and will wait until the Wild Myo option is available in a few months.

Thanks for the detailed response! I’m in love with my Crestline but def feel overkill for some of my local trails…. So I’m thinking to get a SL shorter travel bike as an addition…

For the new Wild, I guess it would still be 170mm travel and how can it be a trail/climb use case? Or they will have a shorter travel version?
