Atherton S.170E eMTB

The A200 was 1.1 second slower than the Session. But in it's defence it was running brakes that were not as good as his Mavens, tyres that were not as grippy, along with Forks and Shock he'd never used before and were not fully setup.

We then bought the A200 and have since had it fully set up with telemetry etc. However, as it's winter we've not tested it in a race yet as the season doesn't begin for a while. But he loves the A200 and 'feels' fast :D How fast, i have no clue yet.
Good luck for the season!

What height are you? I'm 5 10 and it came out as an 8. The stack and reach are very similar to my current Vala but the wheelbase is shorter which seems a bit surprising with the extra travel
After a ride on a size 8, I feel this suits me better so have changed to this. Also have got in the First build, feel comfortable as have done 3k fault free miles on DJI power unit, and thought the none E S 170 rode great. Really looking forward to this bike.

Im 6ft2 and ride an S4 kenevo currently. My measurements came in at size 10 but ive dropped to size 9 as the S4 feels a bit long for the trails we have here.

Just ordered mine. Size 7, highest spec build. Can't wait. Recommendations on pedals (flats) and shoes (not clips)?

These cranks imply to me they have excess capacity on their printers....lower sales of the A series than their production capacity.
Or they have found a spot to have these made at the same time as the lugs and add no additional time to the process so are just material costs.
Almost like off cuts or scraps being used.

I had a pair of Nukeproof Sam Hill Enduro flats and thought they were fantastic. Those pedals with FiveTen Freerider Pro were awesome.

Long time lurker here.

I'm looking to order a build 2, been quoted mid July for delivery.

Those that have pre ordered what have you been told for expected delivery date?

I ordered the same model on the same day. Personally I’m going with flats 😅..
I’m leaning towards DMR vaults

I'm not sure about the way the cables are routed on this bike. Looks like the rear brake hose goes top tube then down the seat tube then exits to rear triangle. Dropper cable looks like it is down tube then exits the motor housing before going up the seat tube. There must be an external seat tube hole hopefully with a rubber seal. Then you have the speed sensor and derailleur power cable which both seem to exit the motor housing. I'm thinking of potential water ingress from the 3 cables exiting the motor housing vertically (if that's the case) and the entry point to the seat tube. Plus the lower shock mount that may collect mud during use. They will no doubt have rubber seals and hopefully there will be a way for water to exit the seat tube and motor housing if any were to get in. Lots of crevices to clean as well so be good if it will take some some serious housing down. Anyone got one yet who can comment? I'm only going off pics some of which could be pre-prod so the design may have changed.

Routing has changed on the final version for all the above I believe

Off to a good start

That seems a very odd list of 30. The bikes that have won all the group tests recently, the yeti let and the forbidden both aren't included. Odd ones not to include. However I never hold much to reviews. Always best to ride and make your own opinion

Ah, just seen, this test is for 2025, where as the yeti was in there 2026 comparison test. Even though the Atherton came out later 😂

I agree, I will have my own this time next week, and have a good reference point as have done a few miles now on AmFlow25 PL and 26 Model PX and Pro. I have high expectations for this Atherton. After the some of the reviews on the Gen 4 S works, I have little faith in most reviews tbh.

Yeah, it was never going to be a bad bike. Every bike they have made has been great

I'd agree with that, but with an asterisk. Their smaller sized bikes have better geo.
Their large size bikes have a 1.9 or higher f/r ratio, which is immediately obvious when you ride them. A very old school, drive the front vibe. Sizing down highly recommended.
I'm curious to jump on the e and see if the extra weight up front equates to a bit more inherent front end grip.
