Article Video: Teewing Flux 180mm, high-pivot, Avinox EMTB first look and ride

Ridewrap have the full custom frame protector for the Flux now. As I'm doing a custom wrap, I thought I better order it, so I don't have to ride the bike without protecting the custom work.

I'm going to the Local Bike Store to pick up my Tannus Amour Liners on Sunday. The TPU tubes have arrived and so I can finish off the new wheels. I'm going to fit a Tanwall tyre from the Amflow to the rear rim I just built. Then compare it to the black tyre I fitted to the front wheel I built.

I might even fit both to the Amflow, then see which I prefer. I love the look of the tanwall on the Amflow. So if it works well with the purple rims, hubs and Oil Spill spokes. I'll need to order another set from Pushys.

How good it is to receive Pushy's email, looks like l missed out on a call, but not to worry, the good times sounded in shared with Astro66.... there has been a landing down under.... We have the Flux people!

All parts sourced and received for the Flux frame build, some upgraded add ons from the Norco, all to be rolling out on the trails sometime soon.
Did you get a frameset? If so, what size? Pushys has advised me the Large Framesets have had a delay so won’t be available till end of the month :( Like Astro I’ll be going to canberra to pick up if the NSW Certificate isn’t ready in time.
Super excited!

I am on a medium, yes correct, holding back Pushys is the NSW Certification league, to a possible 4wk delay, then yes its Canberra destination being offered to pickup.

Yeah this puppy is likely sidelined for the wait, it all good, l have work on applying some research becoming friends with the Avinox tech, learn to be on point to this new systems of computer simulation, l am not even sure my SX phone will hold grips to load up this tech shhhit lol.

That said, l will be given and captivated on the forum to all these funky Flux builds maybe even trail testing posts, all is to be revealed.

To a guesstimate of arrival timing is a box at the door 👍

What is this elusive NSW certificate you guys are referring to, something required for customs/import?

NSW (New South Wales) is a state in Australia, the importer is just waiting for some sort of product certificate before they can sell the Flux in this specific state. The option being we can travel to a neighboring state to pick the bikes up if we dont want to wait for the certification process to play out in our state (NSW).

NSW is going through a crack down on ebikes. My son has been stopped twice.

Ebikes in NSW must comply with EN 15194. NSW certification is just like a stamp to say it is EN 15194 compliant. So big retail stores, (Like Pushys) won't sell an Ebike to someone in NSW that hasn't been certified.

Pushys the retail store has put in the paperwork to show the Flux is EN 15194 compliant. But the confirmation from the governing authority is still pending.

Lots of bike stores in NSW are selling ebikes that are not NSW certified. Infact many sell completely illegal ebikes, under the premise they are only ridden on private property. Hence the crackdown.

Tannus Armour Inserts and TPU Tubes fitted. EXO casing Assegai and DHR 2 installed. The supplied DD casings won't go to waste. A mate wants them at mate's rates.

Just need that phone call from Pushys telling me the Flux has been transferred to Canberra, and the build can begin.

Originally I thought, even Teewing cant get shifter wires for the show, but then they showed a closer picture and it was all XT components. That blue looks really good.

It's why I bought the base model. I wanted the SRAM 90 transmission, to easily ungraded to SRAM Electronic. But I've had to build my own cable. Can't source it anywhere.

The blue looks awesome in the vid, surprising as I didn’t much care for it in other pictures I’ve seen.

It seems like there must have been some other different shade of blue floating around in early pics before the official launch, there was a more turquoise looking one in some pics that can’t be the same color as the deep metallic blue on that video. I’m glad I went with blue seeing these more recent pics/videos of production bikes.

I would have got the blue, if I was leaving the bike original. But I have wanted to build a partially purple wrapped bike for years, and the black goes better than the blue.

That blue is pretty accurate when it’s indoors but it’s definitely brighter outside. I love it though. Paint quality is really good. Holding up well to all the overgrowth weeds.

Any more insights to how it’s riding? And we need some more pics in this thread :)

Sorry I’m the worst at taking pics. I did a quick ride yesterday down some chunky single track and it handles everything well. I’m still not used to tight switchbacks with both a large and a 29 but that’s on me. It feels best when you just let it go down the steep chunk but I have to be careful because I suck at cornering and getting too much speed gets scary. Loving the big travel though.

I raced my buddy up a steep fire road while tow strapping another friend on an Amish bike and won. He was on a PL Carbon Pro. New motor is no joke, even with only 1300w battery.

I was just out of interest looking at the now Norco Range Vlt 160mm travel and referencing with the frame size 3 medium to the rider height to 170cm - 180cm

The Range is 160mm travel its static CS 436 at sag 446.... l am not sure there is a slightly different calculation of position to using the I track with back or forward pivot location.

It had me thinking on the Flux MX in low position 436 static sag with 178mm travel, to the growth effected sag may reach the 450.... which is what l believe my 170mm rig is now.

Oh yeah .......... It's on it's way from QLD to Canberra. Supposed arrival is Weds.

I will be taking my time with the graphics package. If I cannot get the wrap looking exactly how I want it. I will be stripping the bike down and sending it to the spray painters.

Whilst I am very keen to put the Flux through it's paces. I do have the Amflow PL Pro, which is still a phenomenal bike to ride. It just doesn't have the descending capacity of the Flux. But there aren't the downhill runs locally to test it.

My MTB club have a Mogo weekend at the end of May. My plan is to have the Flux ready for this. But that will be dependant on the wrap going well. Because if I need to send it to the spray painter. I don't see it getting ridden till June.

Yeah of course, l respect this set up to the detailing process and nice for you to have aimed to meet with a planed event, at best to have the Flux complete for your MTB club, many a good runs for the Mogo weekend, very nice.

Good to have the trusty Amflow to fill in if need be.... yeah, it all sounded dreamy back here from the sidelines mate!.... haha!

Anyways mate all the best as it takes shape, keen as to follow along as it rolls, all in perfect timing 👍

Keen to see your build too mate. (y)
Yeah thanks my friend!.... l will know doubt be rewarded to a shiny new Flux frame, mint condition, still yet to wether l apply a frame protector of sorts, maybe in those few major ware regions...

The focus was to swap over of parts from the Norco Range Vlt, with the vision to head to my local, whom a bunch of us built close to 20ys ago, a few years back was council approved 👍 ultimately to see how a HP works and for a long time iv been missing the dh plush sofa smooth ride, really miss the DH feel.

Zebs go on and Ohlins coil at some point, but keen to try the fox x2 air..... How much grin it gives back will determine to what upgrades new bling l bring to add.....

Another thought of challenge arrived to mind recently, the Velduro's new vandal AM trail, with another frame option....

I also have a Norco Sight Vlt parked, garaged with a cooked battery and possibly giving to another adventure build resurrection.

The Flux is in line of sight 👍

My Flux is in Canberra. Pushys have refunded my delivery fees, and given me $250 of store credit. Plus another $75 credit for buying the bike. I am a very happy boy.

Pickup Sunday, as I'm hosting a big ride in Sydney on Saturday. They have offered to assemble it but I have asked for them to leave it in the box, for ease of loading in the car. And I don't trust anyone to touch it.

So far. Very impressed with Pushys customer service, especially in comparison with my LBS who delivered my Amflow. They were dreadful.

This Teewing experience has been fantastic so far.

Hello everyone,
I've ordered teewing flux frameset but now I'm wondering if XL size is not too big for me. I'm 189cm height. What do you think? Appriciate any advice.

Just talked to Pushys about picking the bike up. They just informed me that they delivering 40 Flux's to customers out of the Canberra Store in the next month. That is an amazing number of these bikes.
