Hi All

Well Good News I fitted the new linkage can say they will need to do some modifications to the bushes as it doensnt fit and alot of play but they can figure that out and ill help with that and i couldnt press bearings in etc.

Here are pics of 2025 X2 Full extended air in it, Can is about 59 -60mm wide, 26 is same size

Here is full stroke 65mm

This is where it was hitting before

Last Photos just to show size difference, only realised i had it upside down and i wasnt taking it off again to get better pic but everyone should see the difference.

Now to the BB, I have guard on mine so mine is alot lower then everyone from the chain to the ground its about 260mm - 265mm Mine is Mullet 29" and 27.5"

Awesome, thanks for the update. Does fitting this new link change the geometry or travel at all?

Peter. This is amazing! Can you tell me what this linkage does to improve the geometry for those of us that run a mullet? Does it return the HT angle back to original? Does it raise the BB? Ty

Thanks man., really happy with it. The RS really feels like a great motor. Zero issues, I was worried because it was new and largely untested with a few people saying there were gremlins.

Great work on the link, if that goes into production I will definitely get it and then my bike will be dialled!

Hi. Do you notice an battery consumation when the motor don't functioning (downhill) ?

I can't say I have noticed any but I don't think there is. The motor is VERY light on usage. I do about 25kms with 600m of elevation gain and have about 73% battery left. That is using a combo of trail, sport and sport plus for the heavy climbs.

Thanks. Please can you check next exit, see you battery level before downhill and at end. Mine eat +- 3% on +-300 m down and nothing if i take care to pass in 0 mode during downhill. At this time i don't know it's only mine motor or if it's normal functioning of the 510RS. Can you share also your cntroller HARD and soft ref. mine:

I consume more than you. Between 150 and 200 m D+ by each 10% battery (15Ah). But i'm heavy (+100 kg), old and i ride hard climb (10 to 20%). i use mostly trail and sport, very few sport+ and never boost.

Guys im back, to help community i got good deal on 27 Fox X2 only 60mm stroke

I can say the new linkage fits, can is longer but not much wider but aleast my CEF69 friends can be confident in one of the biggest shocks fitting.

180PSI

I love that gap im sure it can compress more didnt want to break 3D print again

Merci

Hi Mate, yes the Fox 27 x2 205 x 60mm , Im running 27.5" Rear and with 165mm cranks easy pedal strikes on just riding anywhere, I have 150mm cranks which i will put on when i complete bike again, i think the smaller stroke will rasie the bb little,

I'll measure it in the morning aussie time for you.

Cheers Peter

So I do actually loose about 2% on a 10 minute decent. A very small little bit of pedalling but it definitely uses some battery on the downhill.

I do not have access to my BESST at the moment so cannot tell you the settings.

Thanks, more or less like me. I have never had that on all my motors ? We can avoid by switching off assistance before down, but annoying though.
I understand better why bafang haven't answered on this subject. It's bad characteristic, but they haven't soluced. I have asked to avinox users (multipoints speed sensor ?), but nobody have answered 😭

Anyone else getting creaking noise when pedaling. Its not the pedals, all the motor mounts are tight, crackarm also tight..its only when pedaling down.. pretty annoying..

I had this happen to me and it took forever to find the issue, but it turned out that there was too much tolerance in the frame in the motor mount closest to the chainstay pivot so when the mounting bolt was torqued down there was still a gap in the inside of the frame and the motor. I slipped in a washer over the mounting bolt stud in between the motor and the inside face of the frame and re-installed the mounting bolt hardware and it went away completely.

Thanks for the advice but I was still having same creaking noise after install. Installed washers to all mounting points and greased the shafts. Found out it was the crankarm fixing bolt was too tight. Loosen it and just like that noise was gone...

Did they get back to you? My salesperson said they aren't available yet but it seems like they aren't always on the same page.
Correct. Chili replied. Neither are available yet. Hopefully soon.

First 440 miles down all in a mullet setup. I just put the 29r on the rear and I’m excited to start riding it to compare. Just standing over the bike the HT geometry is noticeably better and the bb height is much higher. Let’s see if those changes as a 29r outweigh those of having the smaller wheel. I don’t mind the slacker HT angle. But the lower bb is just resulting in a ton of pedal strikes at the wrong times. Man, a mullet link would be amazing to have for our bike.

So, it took some time, but it is out! I did my first test-run. I made a bracket to position the speed sensor at the ABS tone ring. (M560RS). To bad it displays 1.5x the real speed due to the larger number of tooth on the tone ring. I wish Bafang lets you enter the number of tooth of the tonering. As I have centerlock brake discs, the supplied tone ring is not usable and the ABS tone ring is the most sensible thing to use! If Bafang made sensor Bosch ABS style, it could be mounted in the brake adapter.

Anyway, the motor is strong. I do not really mind the noise it makes. My Yamaha PW can also be heard. The sheer power of this motor.. I choose DT-Swiss HX1700 as they were quite affordable. But they flex under the load of the motor. Something to consider if you pick this motor. Use wheels with high spoke count and little flex.

It weighs in at 24 kg. Pretty good as I didn’t try to save weight at all.

I need some protective foil at some places and then I can get her to the trails. Happy building!

If you have suggestions, please shoot!

Is that speed sensor on the bottom pic?

Is that speed sensor on the bottom pic?
It is. You also can use that sensor with a regular magnet on the wheel with different controller

OEM speed sensor plate functionig on centerlock. just needs to use 6 holes disc and adaptator. see my assembly on M510RS tread

Just realized the speed sensor i have attaches to the 6 bolt rotor mounts on the rear brake, m560 but my wheels are center lock. Do you guys know if this one will work? Or do i have to get the magnet mount to the spoke and ziptie the sensor or something

Yeah that is also an option and i checked it but im wondering if it will fit/torque down correctly.
