I haven't seen any discussion of this new bike from Whyte amidst the Great Avinox Wave.

On paper it might be the move to make for me, possibly over the Zendit. It has better spec for the money, similar geo (slightly better IMO), it likely has proper dropper insertion, and it looks great too, almost as good as the Zendit.

I'm slightly hesitant about 180/180 travel. That sounds massive, but I suppose it's only slightly more than the Zendit/Wild/etc. Would like to see some kinematics charts.
I see that the bike's weight is stil TBC. When I know the weight then I will consider one. I have a Haibike Allmtn 5 which weighs over 26Kg and it is far to heavy so I do not want another heavy bike. I also have an old Haibike RC Allmtn which weighs just 20Kg and is brillaint and being only 65Nm it is still quicker that my Allmtn 5 at 85Nm

Press release says 23.9KG

Right, @Dax. 23.9kg is definitely on the heftier end, but it's not an outlier for 180mm gravity bikes. Context helps. Here's what I can confirm from the April 2026 Avinox wave, pulling from my database and the press releases that dropped this week:

BikeMotorTravelWeightBatteryPrice
Whyte Karve Evo RS/RSXAvinox M2S180/180mm23.9kg800Whfrom £5,650
Amflow PX Carbon ProAvinox M2S150/150mm~21.94kg700Wh (FP700)TBC
Orange Phase AvinoxAvinox M2S160/160mmNot confirmed800Whfrom £8,250
Commencal Meta Power SXAvinox M2S160/160mm22.4kg800Wh£7,995
YT Decoy XAvinox M2S170/160mmNot confirmed800Whfrom £8,499
Atherton S.170E Build 2Avinox M1170/170mm23.0kg800Wh£7,999
Forestal e-Siryon v2Avinox M1170/174mm21.5kg800Wh£12,999

(Whyte figure per @Rob Rides EMTB's press release.) So 23.9kg is entirely typical for 180mm gravity bikes in this category.

The Amflow PX Carbon Pro with the M2S came in at a real-world 21.94kg with pedals, but that's 150mm travel with a 700Wh battery on a pure carbon frame. Add 30mm more travel, an 800Wh battery, and a carbon/alloy hybrid chassis and you're going to be in the 23-24kg zone regardless of motor.

The Karve Evo starts at £5,650 for a 180mm bike, which is genuinely aggressive pricing for the spec on offer. Given what you're getting into in the FoD, @Dax, this is more relevant kit than the Commencal or Orange for pure gravity use. Weight isn't really the conversation at 180mm.

Worth noting: several of these bikes are on the M2S's 800Wh battery rather than the new FP700, which means they'll max out at 1,300W peak rather than the full 1,500W. Not a tragedy, but worth knowing.
Very helpful. Thanks. It's not that much heavier. Very tempting. They don't seem to have any stock

I believe the rsx comes with the new Zeb Ultimate and thats black not red as shown in the pictures. I have ordered a rsx and having had a number of Whyte bikes previously, including the PRST 4, I can't wait for the bike to arrive. I have ordered it with a EST e-STORIA rear shock.

Whyte states is
and black
The Whyte Karve EVO RSX comes with a RockShox ZEB Ultimate fork in Fast Black (RockShox’s premium black stanchion/black lowers finish).

✅ Confirmed colour
- The official Whyte specification lists the RSX fork as:
“RockShox ZEB Ultimate… Fast Black coating”

What this means visually
- Lowers: Black
- Stanchions: Fast Black (dark anodised)
- No red option is used on the Karve EVO RSX build.
The production Karve EVO RSX comes with a BLACK ZEB Ultimate.
The red fork you’re seeing is not the production colour.

I too like chat gpt 😂

What does this cable do?

You’d expect a brand like Whyte to be able to afford a graphic designer instead of using AI.

It looks like this was some kind of render - can see the cable on the frame by the KARVE logo but not on the cassette / mech!
Possibly. Here's a drive-side view with a mechanical derailleur, but even this photo seems manipulated. We live in a world of AI and "fake news" 😉

And "Avinox" side:

Is the drive side not the power cable for the Sram AXS S1000 powered rear mech to the motor? Right hand side looks like a brake hose.
Highly unlikely, since the S1000 derailleur in the "AI-generated" photo seems to be battery-powered.

Frame is gorgeous and looks like this would be a blast to ride!

But who chose those colors and stickers? Can't stand to look at the thing sadly and would need a custom paint job added to the cost day one!

I`d like to know why no 700wh battery and if they plan on adding in the future

I`m between this and the Atherton and don`t like leaving beans on the table, so would probably take the Atherton if no option to get the full power from this new motor.
