Mondraker Zendit Avinox

I just checked with my mate to see if there was going to be a frame only option. He said the XR version will be offered as a frame only but Mondraker hasn’t released the pricing yet.
Oh, how I wish that was the case in Canada.

Was just texting with my LBS, and frame only is very unlikely here (distributor prolly doesn’t want to bring them in).

Found some actual weights . Not ideal TBH . Doesn't hold much over Bosch bikes. (Actually Crafty full carbon is a bit lighter).

Yeah, kinda surprised that it weighs the same as a full alloy Atherton. Like you said, wouldn't swap my Bosch bike.

The M1 Avinox and 800wh battery weighs 1# less than the CX5. If you add a bash guard or build up the frame to act as a bash guard, maybe get the CX-R Bosch, the weight difference is negligible. We don't know the M2 weight but there is at least I've rumor that it's 300 grams heavier than the M1.
Then it's all in the frame, and nearly all CF frames weigh the same 7#s, and then how Enduro is the build. If I bike is built with DH tires and a F38, that's about 2#s extra right there. Add some cheap yet heavy duty wheels and the weight blows up.
One advantage, err disadvantage that the Crestie and Foxy's have is they always end up with shorter mechanical droppers, and that's 300+grams saved right there.
The Amflows in particular are silly light because it's a copy of a Spesh frame (very light) and lighter trail components. The motor package only contributed 1# to that '5#s lighter' than everyone else's full power e-bike.

you seem to struggle with SI units. these are the weights of one of the most used droppers in the market, the v3 oneup. can't even save that much when you would even go down to a measly 90mm post.

Was comparing to other droppers that people without insertion limits might go with instead, that just aren't practical on these bikes.
Premium bikes often get electric droppers, but less likely in the case of these 2.
OT: KSLev just showed electronic droppers that plug into e-bike motors. That's pretty cool.

quite. just not sure how that is gonna work? afaik the avinox motor has only one aux port, that would mean either connect the derailleur or the dropper, but not both?

Maybe it utilizes a Y cord? I get that voltage drop and things like that occur but maybe it's enough to operate. Maybe it's enough to operate if you're not trying to shift and use the dropper simultaneously?

wouldn’t then the motor turn the spindle too when you use the dropper?

Which models are you comparing, the top Crafty only has a 36 fork and a 600 battery.

My bike as a reference . It’s 23.8 kg with pedals or 23.35 kg without for 800wh battery and alloy rear triangle and link . So for the full carbon drop another 500 grams from there .

Vivid shock and Radial Gravity tyres . You can check in my signature .

I was really looking forward to the Mondraker-Avinox launch, but sadly the lack of seatpost insertion depth (as a consequence of the layout they appear wedded to) makes this a no-go for me.
I appreciate that this won't be the case for everyone.
Roll on April 9th!

I've added the chart in the hope it's helpful to others (if it's been posted previously, I must have missed it).

Anyone can confirm that the delivery date is end June when ordered now? EU

This is a big concern for me as well as I'll need a longish dropper.

I asked ChatGPT to show which dropper posts have the shortest insertion for droppers 200mm and over, worth double checking the information before ordering:

I'm looking at OneUp V3 for size L and it does not look that bad. Will stick out 4cm

As usual AI provides junk info.

The Wolf Tooth offers the shortest insertion depth (the part below the collar is shorter), which is what is needed on the Mondraker & Crestie.
If you're a typical rider, riding a large, and you combine the Wolftooth 200 mm dropper with an SQ Labs saddle and some short cranks that should work. And that's not much below a One-up V3 at 210mm on a bike with an uninterrupted seat tube.

The large comes with a 210 dropper anyway and the top tube is so low compared to other bikes I reckon it should be fine stock for most but will be interesting to swing a leg over one at some point.

Pija 210 on a 2026 L size level with 265 max insertion sticks out 4cm for me.
I am only 88cm inseam and it's perfect when pedaling.
It will stick 3.5cm on Zendit.

That makes it the equivalent of having a 500mm seat tube length compared to a bike with a slammed seat post.
