Forbidden Druid - Avinox Powered

Hi,

We're doing some tests on the Italian group.

The problem isn't the bearings themselves, but the seat where they sit.

If you remove the bearings from the idler, you'll see that the Endura ones also slide quite well, but once inserted, they completely seize up, as you said!

You should try reaming the bearing seat to widen it a few microns and then put the original bearings back in.

A guy here in Italy installed some ceramic bearings to test, but once inserted, they seized up... they slide better than the originals, but not as well as when they're not installed.
Did this fix the tight bearing issue?

I'm assuming you mean the bearing seat inside the idler?

Did you change the bearings as well or just fix the tolerances?

That’s what I’ve heard but unfortunately not been the case when I actually attempted to place orders at 4 different shops. Will try again now that it’s been a couple weeks and see if that’s changed.
All of the 2026 bikes are in short supply, there's more demand than available bikes. Booking orders had to be sent in months ago to Forbidden and if none of your local dealers ordered any Druids or Dreadnoughts with a 600wh battery I don't think you'll be able to get one. Ironically I have a Druid with the 600wh battery in my shop that we can't sell because no one wants the smaller battery.....lol

Well dang, I had to go for the 800wh, and sure would swap it out for a 600...
Who knows on delivery dates though.

Took mine out for first ride yesterday. Even coming from a normal druid the front end feels very high, its also surprising how long the bike feels even in large. I own the druid v2 in s3 and they say sizes match but the core feels longer and taller. Motor noise is alot more than the amflow, i noticed this on my friends lite too. Bike fully rips downhill and the avinox system is still so better than the levo4 i had previously. Think the front ends going to take some getting use too! bike looks gorgeous.

It’s definitely longer feeling than a v2 Druid meat bike. Felt like an oil tanker trying to go up and around some switchbacks.

I love the eDruid stack. For me, the v2 Druid was way too low.

There are rumors rumbling the next iteration of muscle bikes will follow the same geometry trend. When you say there is more motor noise, are you referring to motor rattle?

So, I spoke to Forbidden in relation to the bearings being super tight and wad told they had chosen the Solid Lube bearing in purpose as it was lasting longer in testing on the idler and the large load that is on the pulley and that it should loosen up after some use. Mine never did really so I'll change them.

They did say i could swap them out to a normal 6903 but to keep an eye on it. So that's what I'm doing, same Enduro bearing minus the Solid Lube part. Should have them fitted after the weekend

The actual motor in use sounds louder than my previous amflow. My friends druid was also louder than the amflow by quite a bit.

So you are going for a LLU Max Bearing? I would asume that the fricition and rpm will create too much heat for the Max-Bearings to keep the lube inside very long.
I am in contact with a wholesaler of bearings and he told me that those Max-bearings are not an optimal choice. I am thinking about going for a bearing with solid lube but no LLU Max.

Yeah that's what I've ordered.

Will see how they last, if they do a similar amount of milage as the ones that came on it then I'm fine with that given how much the cost to replace and how easy is it do to so.

They cost a quarter what Solid Lube ones cost as well, Might not be the best option but it gets me rolling again quickly and I'll see what other folk fit

My Core 3/Size 3 is 22.62 kg/49.87 freedumbs before pedals with carbon wheels & bar.

Not many places I could claw weight back. Not that I would spend any more to achieve that. I made the mistake of running a carbon railed saddle once…

The difference in drag between the solids and standards isn't dramatic at all on the acoustic bikes. If you're perceiving a lot of drag, I'd certainly be checking to make sure there's no lateral loading on the inner races causing binding.

New to the forum but not ebikes. Have a Kenevo SL which I love but looking at getting one of these for 2026. I don't suppose any insiders have any info on spec's? I've spoken to my local Forbidden dealer and they have said same things I can see here. 4 Tier Spec's T1 having the Fox Podium and retail around £11k. I'm considering what would be the Tier 2 ~£9k but I've got no details on the specs. Heard from one place its Factory Fox and GX Transmission but then also heard its RS Ultimate and XO Transmission. Bike colors I don't care about as they all look the same covered in the year round UK mud and I dont clean bikes, only the transmission. Thanks Dave

ive heard tier 2 is new fox stuff.

Colour for tier 3 is army green like the dr green thumb colourway of older druid
tier 2 is the purple from the v1 dreadnaught

M2 motor fitted and also theres a dreadnaught version launching 170/170 frame looks same as druid

Thats all info i have! :D

Thanks for the reply. You've confirmed my confusion on the spec options!

Heard the same on the Dreadnaught and was tempted as its seems like a direct replacement for the Kenevo SL with updated modern geo. I tend to do winch and plummet type riding around North West UK, couple of Scotland trips a year and there is nothing too chunky that the Druid couldn't handle.

Lighter the ebike the better for me. The SL currently is more than enough power for me but i do fancy having a go with a full fat as those Scotland trips i have to manage my legs and battery a lot more. I'd imagine the Dread tipping the 26kg mark with it' burlier build kit. Hence me ruling it out.

Yeah its a good choice the druids not far off the kenevo sl weight i reckon some builds probably match it or lighter.

I mean, the bearings are rough as now anyway so needed changed regardless. Solid lube ones are also a good bit more money.

May try the SKF MTRX ones if these ones don't last well and measure up the bearing seat and get it machined if needed. Will get them changed over Tuesday then a ride on Wednesday

I don’t remember the suspension, I think Fox 38 factory and a Float X factory shock. I recall Maven silvers and GX AXS driver train with Crankbrothers alloy wheels.

The tier 1 Druid will cost more than the tier 1 Dreadnought due to the Podium fork.

If there's a difference in drag from the mounting bolt being tight or loose, something is amiss.

Anyone else have a bug where none of their bookmarks are saved? I've thought I've been bookmarking Avinox tuning posts for months and none show up.

you might have got a thread notification and not read it. I find if you just open the alerts and dont view the thread you stop getting updates.
