Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

So update on this... I did shoot him an email and he said RH2 will come with either a 400 or 450. But he gave me the chart to figure out the spring I'd need to get. It was $30 for the spring so no biggie.

Ooc what people take on bike weight included factor? Should it be always the closest bike weight, 45lb in this case?

Yes 45lbs, so third line of the bottom chart for most people

Appreciate the teasers Rob! Can’t wait to see more. This bike is going to be unreal.

What’s the point of numbering them if they don’t number all of them? A frame number 000 literally shouldn’t exist. The first one made should be 001..

Mostly they are actually samples, to test paint, the strip on the back of the frame etc - Troydon gets several colours to test from the factory, as well as warranty frames (in some cases in different colourways).

The green is nice, but is definitely not going to be as safe as a black/white, so mass making those colours is a lot riskier compared to universally liked black and whites.

Honestly, he could have had these frames painted some horrific neon rainbow, and they would have still sold out 😂🤘🏼

Can confirm that the RH-4 can completely slam an AXS 225mm dropper. Its about 10mm lower than I could get on the Bosch bike, with the same seattube height.
Nice, have you tried anything longer? I don't need to slam my dropper, curious how much a 240mm oneup dropper sticks up past the seatpost collar full slammed.

Full insertion depth is 310mm, measured with tape measure. . Issue I've found on VPP type bikes paired with regular cable actuated droppers, is that you need extra space for the cable entry into the actuator at the bottom - and these can get snagged up towards the bottom and create extra friction on the cable pull, which is annoying.

The 225mm AXS is 311mm in total, or take the little plastic cap off at the end to reduce the total height by ~3mm!

Man. Idk I guess could be cool but I truly think Avinox nailed the perfect power on their first try. I think a lot of people would have preferred same power but lighter if that was even a possibility. I’m sure this will be more power and heavier as all the rumors suggest.

At some point someone in charge of trail access is going to say that’s too much and ban Avinox from MTB trails.

I don’t think so.
Hope you’re right but it’s already starting in NJ where they changed the classification system and are throwing around 20mph and 750w power as the legal definition of a “low speed motorized bike”. Lots of issues with the new law that need clarification but it is concerning that they are including power output in their classifications.

Realistically, I don’t see anyone enforcing that except on the Suron’s or similar throttle controlled electric motorcycles being ridden on the streets. Police and park rangers don’t care about EMTB’s being ridden offroad.

I tend to agree... maybe a gung-ho ranger/cop, but I don't see it being a serious "threat". The only time it'll definitely be an issue is when/if your involved in an incident and can't provide proof license/insurance/registration.
