Ho ho ho, the holidays are over, but you've got a late gift.
The BDT patch isn't mine, I just found the links on Reddit.
post with BDT ver 1.2.3:
post with Patch:
BDT with the patch works offline and allows programming. I managed to activate the lighting. If anyone has the US software, please upload it and maybe the topic of removing the restrictions will become publicly available.
This patch doesn't work for me. And even with a correct 1.2.3 crack, this version cannot connect to gen5 bikes. And you can't do anything else other than turning on/off the lights, activating power ports, other small changes. That is IBD programming, almost all the stuff you can already do on the display or in the app.
For newer versions (16.x, 17.x, etc.), even if you have an OEM crack and configuration container files (.cff4, .bpc, .db), you still need a private key stored on the OEM dongle (YubiKey) to sign the configuration sent to the bike. After sending a valid config that is incorrectly signed, because you don't have a certificate+private key, the bike will reject it. Bosch is such an anti-consumer brand that they place certificate checks on the bike itself, preventing you from repairing the bike yourself
I do agree "software" patch is better, but charging 200€ for just a click in the app is outrageous. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get bosch dealer certified for that much money. I found bosch ebike dealer trainings for 15-50€ online, but that is if you own a bike repair shopEveryone decides for him self, phisisical also got cons, it needs instaliation, no warranty for no errors, no warranty to work after update, higher price, wrong speed and distance readings...
