It's usually at the bottom of the bike ..has cranks, pedals , chain & cassette attached ..if you still can't locate it I can point you in the direction of a good optician ..but you might bump into a few things on the way there 😉😁

Sharp this morning Neil I must say.
 
Samnau via Merano to Sölden, over the Timmersjoch mountain road.
It was pouring rain and visibility was less than 100m, so here are a few pictures of the road from the internet.

Sölden is one of the best riding destinations and it's a great place to enjoy yourself. Lots of trails and big differences in altitude and the center is being developed all the time.

On the other side of the top is hard spelling Ischgl. Bike park is on both sides.
I didn't have time to ride the area's perhaps most famous route, the Smuglers trail, which is a so-called high alpine trail.
From the top, there was a fairly airy return route back to the Samnau valley.

So where would I go for nothing too severe . Problem is getting there with a battery if not driving. Train maybe
 
Just been reading that all the steam trains are cancelled because of a fire risk 😱
At £50 a pop, that's an expensive diesel ride!
 
This was great until the pedal strike at full pelt downhill. Off to A&E shortly. Not sure what I've done but only one arm is working. I did receive the traditional mocking from my riding pal, so it's all good 🥳

We gauge the level of the get-off by the level of mocking. If there is none and just someone standing over you on a cell phone, then you know it's not good....

Hope you get the arm sorted out right quickly.... :cool:
 
Another ride out of Wooler ( Eastern Cheviots , Northumberland) today with Drew ( drove 3hrs to get here) Jaco & Wayne ..
Epic views & fantastic riding but just too damn hot for me & especially Wayne who started feeling ill ( touch of sunstroke we think) so with Drew also running low on fluid we cut the ride short to about 75% of the planned route ...still achieving 17.8 miles & 2064 ft ascent in 32c heat ..
Funnily enough Jaco with his Scillian bloodline hardly raised a sweat and managed on two sips of water all day ..
Another surprise when we hit the Harthope Valley floor and I recognised him as soon as he turned the corner from a few hundred metres away was our old mate Colin Barking Mad ..who has had a few health issues and his working his way back to fitness ..great to see him and to chew the fat for a few mins before we parted ways ( he was heading off in the opposite direction ) ..and look forward to him riding with us again .
We finished off with drinks at The Tankerville Arms in Wooler ..where another surprise awaited.. Wayne only wanted bottled water instead of the usual pint of the black stuff ..he really must have been feeling unwell ..😁
Really nice to have both Jaco & Drew with us again with the latter insistent that he didn't feel short changed after his long journey to get there ..phew!

The last bike park of the trip, Winterberg Germany. Or The Mother what they call it nowadays :LOL:

Over the years, the park has been getting worse and worse, the tracks are not maintained enough.
Next year I will change the location, because there are others nearby, such as Green Hill and Willingen.

Apparently there are also riders who have no idea about bike park etiquette.
They think it's okay to chat in the middle of the trail.

PS. Something good also, they've finally made the jump line
