A day or rest & recuperation..but still with a cycling theme ..
First up a trip over to @The EMF 's manor for a coffee at The Needles Eye Cafe on the seafront with the missus ( didn't disturb Wayne as I know he likes to catch up on his beauty sleep around this time of day ) ..

Then onwards & Southwards to Newcastle-upon - Tyne for another brew with our son at The Hub cycle shop / cafe & home to Saddle Skeddadle cycling holidays HQ.on the Quayside .

The mighty River Tyne ..strange to think that this also passes within 200m of my door 40 miles away ..
The two bridges in the background are the Millenium Bridge & ( for all you Aussies ) The Tyne Bridge ..the older sister and replica to your Sydney Harbour Bridge ..currently having £millions spent on it in terms of repairs & a spruce up with a new lick of paint ..

Sorry but it loses a few points for the rear light not being centred properly ..some might call that a jaunty angle..but in my eyes it's a severe lack of attention to detail 😉

Good spot, I noticed that when I stopped to tighten my saddle, for some reason it was loose and rattling! 😂

All geared up over there as with a lot of europe.. To use a local saying we are always shite behind the door in this country ( always behind everyone ).

Trees down so reroute had to run the gauntlet over the golf course. Near disaster after 6 miles went over a root and heard a a clunking noise. Silly me never put in the battery bolt . Had some insulation tape all sorted but road home on road .

It must have been hard work riding home carrying that tree on your bike.

but NO fire smoke...
We had that yesterday on the weather news for Germany that, again, some of our „higher clouds“ are residuals of smoke from wildfires in Canada:

I don’t know how a single tree in Saskatchewan can produce so much smoke? 😉

California fires affected us a few years ago. The smoke was so intense we couldn’t go outside for any length of time. Fires pop-up in our area (BC) during the dry season. Fire crews attack these hot-spots as fast as they can. There is a risk here and the results can be devastating. We’re at the mercy of winds and temperatures. An entire community has been impacted again in BC. Evacuations are common.

Oh…and I finished that thing in the background today.

I could swap foliage pictures all day probably.
I hope people using that trail appreciate the time and effort you put in. The forestry commission has taken down some big wooden stuff at Fochabers. Sign saying it has come to the end of its life , twenty years I think it said. I don't use it anymore and not sure how many do to be honest but I doubt it will be rebuilt.

Oops, posted the wrong picture 🙄. But whilst it’s here, this fine machine might reluctantly be for sale for £2750 when I’ve cleaned it . It’s in Midlands,UK. And further details are available by DM or email at [email protected]

Still in Switzerland and next stop was at Lenzerheide.

This time I didn't go to the bike park because the top lifts were still closed and for me the best routes are there.
Instead I rode the opposite side's Scalottas high alpine trails. Also, a heavy thunderstorm catch me and I had to ride a mud rally down into the valley. This is something I don't usually do voluntarily.
