2025 Norco Sight VLT CX

I really like this bike, it's a good value as well.

A bummer about having all of this capability but just 150mm travel and no ability to increase it further.
You can run a 65 stroke shock increasing it to 162 rear travel.

Forgot to mention I'm running 162/170 with longer shock/fork. Wouldn't say no to more travel though!

I wrote Norco with this question and they told me 'no' and that it voids the warranty. Do you have any other info on this topic?

PS. That's the perfect travel range for a big e-bike.

Any news to the Range Vlt ?.... New Commencal 180x180.... perhaps noticing, listening with consumer interests, increasing travel.... power to the gravity fed, so be it an invitation for a HP Shore Vlt....
Ah yeh, trusting the mornings dark brew cuppa to another perfect timeline.... Yew!

The Range VLT is just a long-shock/fork Sight - essentially what I ended up with. Pretty sure they would have been released already except for the seat stay recall issue. I also just wrote them re 180 fork.

I don't see how you could get more travel out of the rear unfortunately, unless Cascade components releases an after market link... (just emailed them asking if they have plans for one). Cascade just confirmed no plans to make a link for the Sight.

As previously mentioned Norco claims to void warranty to defecting long shocking the Sight when it seems Sight - Range alike then manufactured identically, by of same frame mouldings.... the frames capable to long shock.... what tha! Gotta be something else going on, possibly layering up on carbon to regions with the Range's frame...

My guess is there may be issues with specific shocks and they would prefer owners don’t just go swapping any 206x65 shock in there without checking for clearance in all dimensions and at full compression. I was told by a Norco sales rep that it’s known to clear a 205x65 shock but I never specifically asked re warranty. I also happened to keep the stock shock in case it’s helpful with warranty issues, though I don’t foresee any issues with the 295x65 shocks I’ve used (Vivid air and now coil).

I also heard from the norco store there is an sx sight coming out as well. Same thing though, bad triangles. I’m hoping they will bring out a tq sight I’ll be all over that too.

Just keep the original shock for if you ever have an issue.

Mine (and my other half’s as been like that from day one) no issues & I’m 1000km & 53,000m of climbing/descending deep on mine & ive definitely done some stupid sh*t overshooting jumps on it.

I was a very early purchaser and just had my seatstay replaced with the new version, others I know with the same bike are just now getting them or will very soon. Everything is good to go now. The parts are indistinguishable aside from they are all raw carbon now - easy to tell which version is the new one, and I love the look too!

It looks like they have updated their website to show the new color across all 3 models, and bikes are now available again for sale at dealers.

Still been happy with it. The added power is awesome and every time I ride it I can't believe how quiet it is. The 370 rear hub certainly helps, but there are just no creaks or rattles whatsoever :)

Bit late but I was clicking around in a setup guide somewhere and they already have the sight cx 160 listed in it. So it’s probably dropping as soon as the new triangles finished getting sent out.

Also had my seatstay replaced this week, and my other half’s bike has hers in the post.

After spending quite a bit of time cheating on this with an Unno Mith, I had been messing about with the spec a bit, in an attempt to get it under 22kg, for an S4, with pedals - which I can confirm it is in this spec (just).

I think I can now say, for me, given the choice (and I do have a choice, as I have a Mith on order due to come this month) I will probably stick with the Norco in its current form (170/163mm).

It’s an easier bike to ride not at 10/10ths, it doesn’t have any handling quirks & it’s been massively easier to set up overall in terms of suspension & balance. I also noticed having jumped back on this today how utterly silent this is as a bike. Like no noise at all.

The Mith I was on was one of the noisy ones, the DJI was quite rattly & it has some really annoying cable rattle, whether it’s brake hose/controller I don’t know but I couldn’t track it down. Regarding the motor noise, it was definitely worse with a high PoE hub (i9 Hydra) over the carbon Newmen wheels on this when I swapped them over.

I’m probably about to be ambushed by the AmflowBros for this statement too, but I think I also prefer the ride feel of the Gen5 CX Bosch. It’s a different experience to the DJI, and I can see the appeal of it, but as a former owner of a Tesla I liken it to driving a performance Model 3 - felt blisteringly fast in acceleration, but just very ‘digital’ in its delivery, the Bosch ride feel is nicer IMO.

Rough spec is:
-S4 frame
-Zeb Ultimate 3.1 170mm
-Vivid Ultimate 65mm stroke
-XX/X0 T-Type
-Trickstuff Maxima
-OneUp 240 post
-Some scary light Syncros Carbon saddle
-Newmen SL A30 carbon wheels (might be gambling with these)
- Conti Enduro front DH rear
- i9 Stem & Burgtec carbon enduro bars

Goes well, I like it. I’ve still got the Mith for another week or so & im trying to blah myself a Druid CorE to try for a while, just for the sake of comparison, as I’m definitely a HP fan anyway, and on an eeb, they are great.

Thanks for this.

Any comments on harshness at the end of the stroke mentioned in 2 reviews that I have read now?

Thanks again.

I'm personally all in on team Bosch and consider the Avinox a step down based on deciphering a lot of reviews.

None at all, but I’ll caveat that and say I’ve never ridden it with the stock shock.

It has only been ridden with a Vivid Coil/Air & 65mm stroke. I’ve always run it with the HBO turned down as it’s fairly progressive anyway so didn’t need the additional ramp up.

I raced it recently & there was a fairly kicky booster into the finish area on the last stage which at race pace was a horrendous flat lander, can safely say I had zero harshness at bottom out.

I can only assume it was something to do with the stock shock.

can you take a few photos of the white paint on your frame please? it's hard to judge the tone on the official photos

I’m running a fast fenix and I’m definitely under spring and I don’t notice any harshness at all. I also never rode the stock setup.

Has anyone been able to bake this bike off against the Forbidden E-Druid or Deviate Kurgan? Especially in comparison of rear suspension performance? I do realize the Forbidden is fresh off the press, but perhaps there are influencers out there that may have got a shot of comparing these bikes. Trying to assess the performance of the i-Track idler location that Norco licensed.

Did anyone else did a downsize?

I am 175cm and went for a size 2 that is max for 173cm. Must say it feels amazing.

I wish the sizing was a bit different of a scale. I have an s3 at 180cm and put a plus 5 reach adjust in. Wish it came stock at 480 reach.

My reach is the same as my propain tyee al 6 size M. Size M is in Norco s3 I guess. All numbers are almost the same. The bike is only a bit shorter. So I don't know why they say the bike is to small for me.

I’m 6-0, 183cm and demoed both s3 and s4 on a XC track at Sea Otter. The terrain there was very mellow but I could tell I’d be too “over the front” with the s3. S4 felt a bit big at first, but I overforked by 10mm plus going from a Lyrik to Zeb has even longer atc for a given travel amount, so final reach is around 491mm, just 6mm longer than my “ideal” of 485.

If I had gone s3 and overforked, I’d be at 466 reach which is definitely too short.

I also just saw that it’s approved for 596 max fork length which happens to be exactly a 180mm Zeb, so that would reduce my reach further to 486.3, so I’m actually right at my ideal reach in the end.

After riding it at 163/170 travel for 800+ mi now, I can confidently say it’ll work super well at 180 and will be doing that at my next service interval.

Has anyone had any issues with their chain faling off the HP pulley?
Mines done it twice now and quite a pain trail side to put on. (Had the bike for a week)
Derailleur is setup correctly, I've heard the trek slashes had a similar issue and they went to a pulley with taller teeth or larger pulley diameter that would lower the clearance for the chain to be able to fall off.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue yet, only happened when aggressively bombing. Apart from that love the rig and would love for this not to become a thing.

Yo dude, 2 times in 2 rides. But my chain was worn beyond 0.5.

I put on a new chain and cassette and the last ride it was gone.

But I can't tell yet if that fixed it. There is more space behind the pulley then the front I noticed.

I'm riding now with a chain tool in my hippack al the time.

I have not had this happen on my C2. I wonder if a narrow-wide roller would help the chain from coming off there.

Couple of thoughts:
  1. The Slash+ has an underside chain tensioner, which takes up the slack significantly and reduces chain growth somewhat, which the Norco does not.
  2. The more aft the I-Track idler is to the rear pivot (being aft of the pivot is the essence of the patent) the harsher the cross-chaining in different gears. I'm hoping this isn't an issue on the Rogue as the main pivot is fore of the seat tube and hence I-Track is further forward compared to the Norco.
