I don't see that as a big problem as long as you get a new motor pretty fast.
I whipped them out sent them away. It varied between 10 days and 2 weeks in getting new one back. Yes all warranty so can't complain. If warranty is out a good dealer can you a motor at the price they pay for it 😉.

It's very annoying when it happens and even though it has never happened to my other 3 Levo that all went 8.000km it has happened to far too many.
In Norway it's 5 years warranty so I am more lucky than others

Ya the owner told me most emtb only get about 3000 miles a motor.

Never suspected that is all you get
That's the most I got 3400 miles on last one I sold in April . Lad opened it up and needed a few parts it's been sold and sold again since then .A well known repairer in UK told me after one of mine went at 2600 miles that was not bad really. Seems Wales and Scotland are the worst in UK something to do with rain I believe.

Yes easy to get put off and at the end of the day it is expensive and if you are counting the pennies it's not very nice.

3813 so I guess should be happy. EP 801 had a few upgrades over the EP8 that was supposed to help.

Sucks they have no parts from Shimano for these
Yes I still wonder how some people get over 10,000 on same motor. I have neighbours who love to tell me how much miles they have had with no issues on their Bosch motors. But they don't do anything serious or any wet riding.

I still wonder
People who do not ride fast, and lighter riders, and people with less elevation change can make motors last. Or really strong people.

Buddy with the same bike is always in trail but heavier than me, he is getting over 2000 miles on his cassette, its right about the miles he had on his bike in 15 months. I bet he will get 4 or 5k. He always uses trail mode

Moving back to the subject at hand:
I torqued every bolt to spec on the entire bike, then tightened up the motor bolts as well.
My last ride was a noisy one, so hopefully this will have solved the noise issues.

Ah Morzine that brings back great memories me and the wife had a week at Les Gets just up the road.
First time back properly since the wife was pregnant with them (7 years). We’ve got a 10 day holiday without them this year. We went last year but that was a family holiday so no real biking.

A Chrystal Active holiday we were on , don't do them anymore sadly. . Canyoning, via ferrata , rafting etc the choice was yours . I hired a Kona Stab downhill bike seem to remember I could use 4 uplift systems. Yes brilliant holiday that it was 20 plus years ago . Enjoy

Replaced the front chain ring, as it tuned out, pretty simple with the right tool and turning it the right way ;)

New chain was sticking on what must have been worn teeth.

Yes reminder I need to get some spares for new levo nothing worse than waiting if something breaks. I think chain ring same as last one . 12 speed chains now though got that but 12 speed cassette needed.

New Tires and tubes. Against previous experience surprisingly easy to get on the rim, even without using a lever. Either because I left tires unfolded half a day outside in the sun or because these gloves can do more than usual.

HOWEVER! As a curious student in this wise forum, I practiced the Valve-Zen mantra with complete dedication and with all my humble ability, although I was overcome by doubts about the master students @Tubby G @VWsurfbum & @Stihldog of master Rob-Fo-Rum because the X's of rubber Max-Xis did not want to match the valves because they do not seem to be opposite each other on the tire sidewalls. 🤔 I guess I need to practice even more intensively!? 😏

Edit: Just checked the old tires of that one was the white OEM version that is matching X‘s what the old yellow version does not.

I broke two of my ParkTool TL-1.2 tyre levers!

I was removing a Maxxis Assegai 29 x 2.5 3C Maxx Grip TR DH casing to fit a new tubeless valve. I know Maxxis can be a bit sticky and I have had them off/on many times before, but on this occasion, it wasn't having it! I did all the right stuff, soapy water, pushing the bead into the centre of the rim etc.

First one lever broke, then another. I managed to get the bead released enough for what I needed to do and to get the bead back on with just the one remaining lever. I was going into the bike shop anyway, so I took all three to show them. They both said that they have never broken a ParkTool tyre lever before. They asked if they might be counterfeit and when I said that I had bought them from them, they had a very close look at the bits and the survivor but couldn't see anything odd. I'd got my previous set free from a bike magazine in about 2009 and when they broke less than two years ago, I bought the set of ParkTool levers. They weren't showing much use. I bought a new set for £4, which was probably cost for them.

EDIT: I forgot to add these pics.

🤷‍♂️ In these moments my father quoted me and my brother Schiller:

Recommendations for levers, even if I use some cheap no name plastics:
Velomotion
Crankbros eMTB

I broke two of my ParkTool TL-1.2 tyre levers!

Saw how the Park Tool levers bent when working with stubborn tyres and had visions of one breaking into the palm of a hand. Put the Park Tool levers in 'a safe place' and bought some Lezyne Power XL Levers. Much stronger with better leverage. Come in pairs so bought 2 sets in case ever needed 3 levers.

I’ve broken several Park Tools levers before, but then I’ve pretty much broken at least 1 of every make of plastic lever I’ve used. Personally Park, Pedros and the flat Continental ones are still my favourite. I think sometimes it’s bad technique and other times it’s just bad luck.

Took her to Speyfest it was bouncing .Her favourites were Orange Blossom Special by Auld Fochabers Fiddlers, Insomnia by Tour Bus Fortune , Smoke on the Water and Thunderstruck medley by Red Hot Chill Pipers. Sare heedies all round this morning.

Did something what I never thought to do my bikes, installed electronic shifting  Smashed three UDH hangers on two bikes in a month....so I remembered that AXS will move away in case of contact 😀 Really never liked idea of extra battery to charge but to Gen3 Levo I have understood that you cannot hardwire Sram...anyway thought that I'll give it a change and ordered GX eagle AXS upgrade kit. Haven't had change to ride it outside parking lot but few notice so far: It's f*cking bulky unit compared to cable operated GX 😀 I can understand why people like electronic shifting because it's fast and feels nice. And that Sram pod is excellent product! Can't wait to actually ride it...and I ordered spare UDH hangers....

Replaced the damaged rear tire, tacky chan with another tacky chan, only with sturdier casing, Super downhill.
