2025 Norco Sight VLT CX

For info, I’ve weighed the above bike now, 22.6kg in the spec it is:
- S3 frame
- Zeb Ultimate
- Vivid ultimate with 400lb EXT lightweight spring
- i9 Hydra on XM481’s
- Conti DH rear tyre, enduro casing front
- Trickstuff brakes
- Deity bar/stem
- 185 BikeYoke dropper
- Mishmash of T-Type.

Most of the stock bits were boat anchors (wheels, cranks, cockpit & seatpost) so I’ve saved a load of weight there, but put a bit back on with the suspension & rear tyre.

The bike is really bloody good. The frame ‘appears’ to be very stout, so I expect there is a bit of weight there, but I’d rather it was overbuilt, than under, and when I get mine, I’ve been on a 25kg Wild for a year now, so weight isnt my primary concern 😆
Hi, i wondering can you compare to wild in terms or balance riding in corners etc? Mullet i had demoed but not narco feelt unbalanced for me when turning corners, on fast trails leaning in corners to much for me compering full 29er etc, i wonder if narco feels balanced bike ? How different from wild in riding? How small stuff roots rocks and jumps ? Thanks

The Wild is a nice riding bike, although I do have a list of frustrations with it,

- The headset cable routing was utterly stupid, it’s a terrible idea in the first place, then implemented exceptionally badly by Orbea, to make it even worse. That’s enough of a reason for me not to want one again, no matter how well it rode.

- The cable management was appalling. I had to drop the motor & the battery just to change a dropper post cable. Which only needed doing as the headset/steerer had eaten through the outer & it was pinching. What should have been a 10 minute job took over an hour.

- I cracked it.

That said, it rode well, even if it was a heavy bike, the geometry is about my ‘ideal’.

The Norco, well I’m a fan of HP bikes, having had a few Forbiddens in the past, so expected to like it (I do). I haven’t ridden a mullet before, but I went for an S4 which is a big bike for me, but it brings a bit of agility back I feel. I’m running mine with a 170 Zeb & 65mm stoke shock so it’s ~163mm rear travel, yet it still feels lively & playful, but that may be down to it being nearly 4kg lighter than the Wild. I also went faster on it on most of my local trails on the first ride, which is unusual for me, as I’m a bit of a slow burns when it comes to swapping frames & building speed.

So far, I like it.

Hi Loving this bike. I have 1000km on it now and I am getting a clicking or creaking sound from the motor area. Reading on the forum there are posts about the motor mount bushings creating this. Would any one here have creaking experience from the idler pully?? Have it in the shop next week just looking to try and locate the sound in the time being.

Thanks

Could easily be the mounting bolts and or whats often overlooked is to go over the motor casing bolts.... If anyone notices any slight play side to side movement from cranks bb this was when mate of mine mentioned at the notice with his Shimano motor that could possibly apply to other manufactures.... that from the 7 casing bolts that contain to all the inner workings.... 4 casing bolts required attention to tighten and as a result this corrected the crank play which could also prevent lateral bearing ware causing bearing failure.
nice bike btw!

How tall are you? S4 seems to be a big bike but talked with a few people who loved them

Already running a Podium!! How do you like it?
Only 20mi so far. Weight is unnoticeable, only when u lift the bike up to load the truck, lol. Whats most apparent from the beginning was how it tames and eats up square edge stuff and high speed 'roughness' if u wanna call it that. Balanced on jumps. Its so smooth you think its too wallowy but its pretty supportive actually in the mid.

Has anyone swapped brakes? Is the frame brake line tube in tube?
Yes it is BUT there is a coupler down near the motor that had come disconnected as well as at the top entrance port so it made rethreading tricky until I realized this.
On the top just pull the display unit and you can clearly see the tubes to ensure they're connected. On the bottom I think I had to pull the motor. Luckily it's only 2 bolts.

Thanks man. Not a fan of Mavens. Seems to fade even on not very long descents. Maybe just needs a bleed Im just so lazy. Lol. Myb worth it to upgrade levers to Ultimates. Mine is the C2 with the Bronzes. Theyre ayt. I still like the feel of Shimano or TRP.

I have also noticed the mavens change the engagement point. I haven't felt fade or sponginess except for the first big downhill when they got bedded in, but over the past few rides the left and right aren't exactly the same grab point anymore...

I bled them when I got them since I run moto style and had to reroute the lines. Might need to bleed them again. Not a good sign either way

Exactly, seems like the mavens are now shimano 2.0. I wanna get the Oak levers, wanna try em out. But also wanna wait coz maybe the damn Saints are coming very soon.

I’m 185cm.

It is a big bike (bigger than I would normally go for to be fair). My other half has an S3 and whilst I could ride it, it was definitely smaller than I would prefer. If I was a few CM smaller, I would seriously consider the S3 over the S4.

I also had to pull the motor, as I’m running Dominions & the 6mm hose are a PITA to feed through most tubes - it’s was the worst bike I have done it on, but I expect normal 5mm hoses to be easier.

Mildly frustrating, as they clearly put some thought into cable management, and it’s way better than most e-bikes, but it’s still a swing & a miss in my view.

Man I’m pretty sure I’ve been missing that bushing from factory! I’m heavy enough that I can flex the motor to hit my chainstay with my crank boot. Couldn’t find any problems at the shop. 300km in and no problems with the brake mounts and I’m 280lbs on mavens with 220 rotors riding decently big stuff.

With the mavens, do a bleed with a proper pad massage and they become amazing and I say this as a dedicated sram hater and someone who is running trp on the enduro and dominion a4 on the dh bike. I’m actually annoyed how much I like the brakes and the transmission stuff.

Love this bike so far, it’s actually really making me want to sell my spire and get a regular sight. The stock build kits definitely leave something to be desired, I don’t even think they need to release a range, just do a 160 model like with the regular sight.

Is anyone else getting a super loud knocking sound from the front end? I’m about to dump a bunch of cable foam in there to see if that fixes it.

5 11 size s3 with reach adjust plus 5 fits perfect
Fast fenix 65mm
160 38
220 hs2 rotors
165 era (wish these were 160 or even 155)
Double downs with trail Cush core
210 dropper
We are one strife/union

**UPDATE*** I have eliminated the creaking sounds from my bike. Replaced both motor mount bushings with new ordered from Germany because Bosch in combination with my local bike shop are just too slow with warranty replacement parts. The main creaking noise was coming from the idler pulley bearing which was destroyed.

Hi, I am getting a C2 and I am curious about the wheels. I haven’t been able to get any information on the WTB Kom Team rims. I am on the fence about swapping the wheels for something like H1900 from DTSwiss.

I don't know much about them but they've been solid so far. My favorite thing is how quiet the rear hub is, you can barely hear it when coasting.

I wouldn’t say the 1900 is a great upgrade, the rear hub on the c2 is already a 370 and front wheels don’t really matter. Just wait until you destroy the rear wheel and have it built
To something nice, unless you’re going to do an upgrade to carbon with nice hubs.

Hey there! I’ve already got my C2, but I’m still waiting for the Ridewrap local team to finish it up and let me finally take it for a spin. Can’t wait!
Meanwhile looking at the Norco Diagrams it seems that I am missing a BOTTLE CAGE RAIL. Did someone receive it? Also my charge port has a little play, that was not present in my previous e-bikes (Orbea Rise and Orbea Wild).

Thanks for the help!

I didn't receive a bottle cage rail either. I have a suspicion that might be on smaller sizes only to help with clearance? My large clears big bottle with no need to offset the mount.

Quick update - I'm at 600 mi now. Some commuting but mostly long rough rides. Regularly do 5-6k+ days. Big battery is the only way for me personally.

Since my initial build, only other change has been Vivid Ultimate coil. Super happy with it. My Vivid air started leaking air at around 400mi and could never fully match the plushness anyways.

Quick build recap - Started with C3 but replaced almost everything: XT 12s and brakes (220/203 TRP rotors), Vivid Coil + Zeb Ultimate, stock WTB wheels still! (getting some popping/cracking and planning to upgrade these soon), OneUp V2 bars/stem/V3 dropper/grips. WTB Judge/Verdict SG1 tires (they're decent, but probably switch to Schwalbe Shreddas next). ~53 lbs as shown with tools/tube/pump.

I ride in Santa Cruz, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Marin/Fairfax/Woodacre. Mix of loose over hard, steep/loose, rocky, singletrack + fireroad climbs, little bit of everything tbh. It crushes it all.

Only thing I'm left wanting is maybe more travel, maybe slightly less stiff. Parking lot tested friends' Crestline 180 and Wild 170/180 (would hate the HS routing tho) and the Crestline had a tad more flex + travel that I might like. Geo not as good for me though. I thought the Norco's 497.5mm reach would be way too long at first, but I definitely can't go back now (I'm 6'0" with +5" ape index). Comes out to around 491 reach after the fork swap.

Also, got a call from Norco that they'll ship a new seatstay "by the end of the summer" blah. Been keeping an eye on mine and no issues so far.

I really like this bike, it's a good value as well.

A bummer about having all of this capability but just 150mm travel and no ability to increase it further.
