2025 Norco Sight VLT CX

Recall posted on Norco's website regarding the rear brake post can come loose. I am guessing that means the the little threaded insert can detach from the carbon. Mine is tight and looks like any other carbon bike I've had, so maybe it requires some more mileage/hours or is only a certain batch of frames.

ouch, this is not a good news :< I'm considering this bike as my first choice (mondraker crafty r) is currently sold out in my country.. Maybe I will wait to see what Norco will post about it..

Anway, guys (all 2025 Sight VLT users), couple question for you about this bike:
Is there anything in this frame you don't like? How many miles/km you have done so far? Is there any rattle after some real life distance? Is chainstay length ok for you on the steeper climbs? What is your height and what frame size did you choose? Is it ok for you?

Also do any of you dropped motor and take out the battery? If i decide to go with the norco I would consider to change 800wh battery to 600wh, I hope it will be possible, but I think it will require some kind of "longer mounting adapter" to bolt it on to the down tube as seen on norco manual.. Looks like norco's specific part that may be not aviable for 600wh power tube which is shorter than 800wh.

Honestly don't have enough time on mine to comment on the long term stuff. But on the rides I've done it's one of the quietest bikes I've had. I'm 6 feet and ordered S4. I feel like it's right and both climbs and descends nicely.

I don't dislike anything about the frame, in fact it's been the easiest to set up for internal routing and the motor is super easy to remove in just a few minutes.

I'm not sure why you'd put a 600 battery in it, but I suppose you could. I'd either make a custom extended mounting bracket or drill 2 new holes in the down tube, but that might be sketchy since it may be lacking the reinforcement needed.

I’m interested to hear on your comparison to other bikes you have had in terms of sizing.

I’m a bit taller than you & my preference is a little bit more than an s3, but quite a bit less than an S4, at 6’1” tall.

The S4 is a monster of a bike in size for an equivalent of a large.
 
Only have about 50mi, no issues with rear brake mount whatsoever. Mines overstroked to 65mm. And just replaced the Lyrik with a 38. Bike feels better with beffier suspension IMO. I have the LV Neo dhx shock, bike is close to 53lbs. Frame quality is great, raw carbon under the polished clear coat is so good. I know they specced with trail components because the Range is coming soon. But 170/162 for my build should be good enough for what I ride. 800wh is nice to have too.

My only other reference point is a Gen 3 Levo, which I had in size S5. The Norco S4 feels similar to me and if you look at the numbers they are pretty similar. It is definitely a big bike, but I like the stability of it. I think I could ride an S3 no problem as well. Just a matter of preference.

I wish the companies would agree on a standard for number sizing
 
Here's my C2. 51.8lbs as shown.
Swapped out for the latest FOX 36, Transfer seatpost, and a '24 205x65 X2 making it a 160/160. Will be swapping to the new X2 eventually. Also swapped out the saddle, wasn't in love with the Fizik it comes with.

Rides great so far! Even though it has plenty of power, the new Bosch firmware that brings it to 750W will be fun. However to me the biggest limiting factor is the 20mph speed limit on the ride to the trailhead.

As a reference: Latest ride was 20 miles, 2800ft. About a 50/50 split between "Sport" and "Turbo" modes, used about 52% battery.

Hi mate nice ride you have, i have considering to buy one but not shure how does it ride ? What terrain you riding ? Cause i only DH stuff and ruff technical steep descends, twisty sharp corners and fast enduro type of riding and jumps, just wonder if its good enough for this type of riding ? Maybe you can compere it with what you have before ?
 
I had a sit and look at one because I asked. They had taken them off display until they hear off the rep

I am probably not good enough to give you a thorough breakdown or anything. I'm riding relatively smooth trails in the forest, not a lot of chunky rock gardens. Overall it does feel like a solid bike, the quietness really stands out to me the most for some reason.
 
Bought a C3 since that's all that was available, and proceeded to swap out just about every part except the wheels, cranks and saddle. Beefier build all around.

Zeb Ultimate, Vivid Ultimate, OneUp 210 V3 dropper, OneUp V2 carbon bars, OneUp alloy pedals, Shimano XT drivetrain and 4-piston brakes, 223/203 TRP 2.3mm rotors, WTB Judge/Verdict SG1 tires. Comes in at 52.8lbs as shown.

I'm 6-0 or 183cm and 195lbs w/o gear. riding a sz4 and it's a little bigger than I'm used to but totally acceptable. With the longer fork, reach comes to 490mm, though I'd prefer a 480 or so. The sz3 would just be too small, especially with a longer fork. It's great for wide open/fast tracks, but can be a tad cumbersome on tight/janky/steep stuff. Tradeoffs for everything.

Long shocked and forked running 162.5/170 from the very beginning. I did demo a stock build at Sea Otter, but the beefier build is the way to go for sure. If I didn't have another kid on the way this summer, I would have waited for the Range so I wouldn't have had to swap out so many parts, but I'm glad I jumped on right away so I could get riding asap given the recall issue.

To that end, I've been keeping an eye on the brake mount and it's been solid so far, no issues. Word is that Norco is going to be sending out some "testing kits" to check if your rear brake mount will come loose, and if it passes, you're good to go. If it pulls out, you'll need a new seat stay.

I'm at 244 miles so far, riding the full range of terrain from my short urban work commute, to 9-lap days in Santa Cruz down some of the steepest trails I've ever ridden, to janky/steep/chunky natural trails, to long cruising rolling hills. I can comfortably do 7000ft days in "blue" mode or shorten my 3+hr local loop to 2hrs flat in turbo. Can't believe I ever considered a 600wh bike. 800wh or gtfo.

I work in the bike industry and regularly rotate through dozens of analog and e-bikes, and can comfortably say this one really does it all. If you can't already tell, I love this bike. If you have questions, ask away, and I'll try to get to them as I procrastinate my work lol...

Can you tell us a little bit about how the HP is working for you compared to many other bikes you've had? Primarily, do you really feel a significant difference in rear suspension hang ups and performance compared to similar non-HP bikes?

I am trying to figure out why it's 5.55#s heavier than the Transition Regulator as weighed by PB, size with the exact same suspension and dropper. I get that the 800Watt is what, 2#s is straight up the battery, and the HP adds a bit of weight. Is it just built particularly sturdy?

It's the best looking bike out there for sure.
 
The HP just feels more “muted” than I’m expecting, coming off a Megatower V2 running 170/170 and Starling Murmur 140/150 immediately before the Norco. I had a Raaw Madonna before those 2 and that might have felt more plush tbh but that was a couple years ago now. That said, going from 29 rear on all the bikes above, before it, to 27.5 kinda does the opposite in terms of increasing “hang up”. Plowing through giant brake holes it’s plush for sure but no magic carpet. Overall I think Norco did a good job balancing the benefits of HP and 27.5.

The Norco feels very stiff/solid so I’m guessing that’s part of the weight difference. My buddy just built a Crestline 180/180, similar spec except he has a vivid coil vs my vivid air and he’s still 4.5lbs lighter. I’m on the stock alloy wtb wheels and he’s on Reserve carbon so that’s part of it but still notable.

One of the biggest things I notice about the high pivot is the lack of chain growth during climbing. No matter what the suspension is doing, the pedaling feel is always consistent and no strangeness when going into a dip
 
My other half got hers recently - swapped a load of bits out on it & it’s good to go.

It’s a C2 in Size3, which having ridden it, is a touch on the small side for me, but on trails it’s an absolute ripper. Reminds me of my old Dreadnought, just with a whopping great battery & motor on it. I’d put it straight in as one of the best bikes I’ve ridden, motor or not.

I don't really need the 800 watt battery and prefer a lighter weight, but the geo just seems ideal on the VLT and it's got HP goodness going on as well.

You know the diameter/package of the 600wh battery is the same right? The 800wh is just longer.
 
For info, I’ve weighed the above bike now, 22.6kg in the spec it is:
- S3 frame
- Zeb Ultimate
- Vivid ultimate with 400lb EXT lightweight spring
- i9 Hydra on XM481’s
- Conti DH rear tyre, enduro casing front
- Trickstuff brakes
- Deity bar/stem
- 185 BikeYoke dropper
- Mishmash of T-Type.

Most of the stock bits were boat anchors (wheels, cranks, cockpit & seatpost) so I’ve saved a load of weight there, but put a bit back on with the suspension & rear tyre.

The bike is really bloody good. The frame ‘appears’ to be very stout, so I expect there is a bit of weight there, but I’d rather it was overbuilt, than under, and when I get mine, I’ve been on a 25kg Wild for a year now, so weight isnt my primary concern 😆
 
That's actually a super good weight for a Bosch 800 watt battery in a High Pivot. Well done.

Even an extra stout CF frame, is no more than an extra kilo at the most and that's about the best place to have the extra weight anyways. So, most of the weight is in the build.

Wondering if these numbers are with pedals or without ?
 
Got word that Norco will be shipping out replacement seatstays in an abundance of caution to the affected bikes, but will take a minute to actually get them from their supplier (months). Unfortunate timing for them right after the release of the bike, but better to catch it early than never, and glad they're doing a proper fix.

That said I've been riding mine on a lot of downhills and it's still solid. Just keeping an eye on it.
