Didn‘t even try, because now also the motor ratchet slips, both failures might be related.

Means motor Nr. 6 incoming….
1st time I can‘t even ride until the motor swap :/

Wow- sorry to hear

Finally got my Decoy SN, just updated to the latest FW aaaaaand its bricked  Has this company produced any working motors? Bike wont fully turn on, only one white LED is blinking. 3hrs of troubleshooting and even dropping the motor didn't resolve it.
Anyway will return the bike unless YT can offer some insanely fast drive unit delivery.

There is a battery reset function that probably won't help, but may be worth a try. Once you have some power on, hold the ring controller down (toward off) for about 10 seconds. I was getting excessive power drain overnight and it resolved that issue.

Unfortunately already tried, thanks anyway!

read somewhere in a group of someone having the same issue.
Fazua tried to fix it via remote, but didn‘t work, new motor.
Maybe you have more luck and it can be fixed remotely.
Good luck!

Thanks! I read your old post and the back ratchet has a subtle clicking noise so I guess its new motor. But will see, atm I'm leaning towards a return.

"1st hw2 motor 2700km, silent back ratchet
2nd hw2 motor 60km, then metallic noises, loud back ratchet
3rd hw2 motor, silent back ratchet, 1st ride tomorrow "

Interesting on the back ratcheting- mine is semi loud, but has been like that from day 1

Honestly saying i think it‘s just luck.
I get Motor 6 fitted tomorrow. 5000km, 1 year.
Best one lasted 2700km (maybe would have lasted some longer, but had a strange strong vibration for a ride, so i get it replaced before it fails totally, have one spare with 1800km still running, the others were basically broken from start, all failed within 200km.
The newest was the worst with the slipping ratchet, serial 052 (Q2 2025).
By your first 3 digits of the serial you can see the Real Production date.

Interesting, maybe there is hope. It seems like a software issue. Mine is from Q3 2024, quite old for a new bike, explains the sale I guess.

Don‘t worry, the 2700km one was Q1 2024, which was the best so far ;)
And fazua is still sending out 2023 units as replacements.

For the latest version they changed the motor bushings from Al to Steel as countermeasure for the squeaking, but i guess it will still start squeaking at some point, permanent CM is to apply green loctite to the bushings.

For those wondering about the Green Loctite 680 and fixing motor squeak with AL bushings, it has completley removed any squeak on mine- Its about an 10-15 min job and you do not have to remove the cranks, just disconnect the main battery line from behind the battery

The AL bushings were marred with black striations as were the internal motor side bushings- Assume the Locitite made its way in and filled in those scratches

Super happy that there are no more squeaks

On a side note, I noticed my silver retaining ring was loose, but Im not sure what its suppose to retain? I made sure to line it up with the notches so that it wouldnt fall out, but anyone know what its purpose is?

Will do green loctite for sure the next time it creaks :) thanks for the feedback.

Regarding the ring, i think without it some internals gets loose and the motor will start to vibrate and fail. Thats what others experienced.

Attached a picture of how „new motor time“ looks.

Btw: Motor 6 now fitted finally. Q1 2025, lets hope and pray 😅
I also have the new Mode Control here, from haptics nothing special, maybe i fit it with the next motor, let‘s see (but the dealer has to do it and set in the SW from ring control to mode control, otherwise „shifting“ down doesn‘t work)

Interesting! thanks for the photo for reference!
so no seperation yet on mine, will keep an eye on it

Do you trink the upgrade to the mode control is worth the money?
Do I get it right, it’s possible to install it on your self but then you need a dealer to switch the configuration in the software? What a pity that can’t be done in the “end user” toolbox :(

I don‘t think it‘s worth it since you can also set „push to inside“ to activate boost with the ring controller.
Maybe i let it be fitted when i have my next motor, but for now I don‘t need it.
Also it might interfere with your dropper lever, so maybe you have to tilt up the boost botton a bit.
Haptic feeling on the new one is also nothing special.

And yes, you can fit it, but the dealer needs to set it in the sw.

Quick update, since I dont have any Fazua dealer nearby the only way to fix it was to send it back to YT. I will be returning the bike, which means I will need to contact my CC to get my money back due to YTs restructuring.
I think this thread speaks for itself when it comes to Fazua :)

YT and Fazua is a toxic combination for sure!

Hope you get your money back soon!

I‘m waiting for Motor 7 now, nr.6 didn‘t last 150km. Now the motor is giving randomly almost no power, i guess torque sensor issue.

I haven't had this confirmed yet - just reached out to Ari this morning about mine - but was told recently that the two year warranty from Fazua resets the clock whenever they replace a motor under warranty. Has anyone else confirmed this (US market if it matters) ?

Same info for Europe I received.

Btw:
the bike is back, Motor 7 is installed, and I’ve already done a test ride.
Fazua personally collected my Bike and brought it back due to my recent 2 Motors failed within 1 week ( one was Q1 2025, the other Q2 2025, so fresh out of Production) i live close to the Fazua HQ.

New one is a Q4 2024 model (but that doesn’t really matter).

The last motor has already been examined on the test bench — as suspected, a faulty torque sensor. The one before that is still under investigation (power loss and ratchet slippage).

Fazua knows about the state of their quality — I’m not an isolated case, and not even among the top in terms of the number of replacement motors.

It’s still a lottery how long the motors will last.

Fazua is sticking with light motors, but there’s no new motor planned in the short term — the Ride 60 will remain for now. The Porsche motor is being developed separately from the Fazua brand, and as is widely known, something with full power is coming soon.

This is my first pass through the replacement cycle but I'm still hopeful that Fazua gets it right at some point because when it's running right I love the way it rides more than anything else I've ridden. Though I can understand how some have given up on them after several replacements and I'd probably feel the same way after so many iterations.

According to the Fazua team at a road show here in Munich this is true 👍

I had my bike back up and running in about ten days all told. Not bad. And i really like the motor!

I was dead set on buying a new mode controller when it came out until I figured out how to set this up. Now I have no real desire to. The push to boost was a game changer.
Can you tell me how to set this up? I've searched and searching and can't find it. Would love that ability.

Thanks!
