I know this question is not directly related to this topic, but does anyone know how long it takes for a new race face arc to be delivered after the warranty is activated?
The rim of my Santa Cruz Vala Kit S cracked.

oh, that's quite bad, hope you get it replaced quick! my rear wheel also developed a noise coming from the spokes while riding, I think it's coming from the spokes rubing together, I guess they might need tensioning? Anyone else got that? didn't bother to take it back to the store yet. S kit ARC 30 HD wheels

Seems like these are selling pretty well despite all the negativity towards the 600wh battery.
I think that those ebikes with very bulky downtubes starts to look "old" quite fast because the tech is moving formard so fast and batterys are getting slimmer, Dji styled batterys looks like a future to me.

That actually looks like a scratch and not a cracked rim. You may want to peel the sticker off and check beneath it. Hopefully, it is just cosmetic.
I’ve broken more than a few over the last few years.

I felt the bumps with each turn of the wheel. I took it to my LBS and they confirmed that it was cracked and have already sent the warranty activation request.
 
Swapped my Mavens for Dominions and the Float X for a Telum. I can't speak highly enough of Vorsprung, great products and customer service. The shock and linkage look like they were designed to be together. Only question now is how long can I hold out on spending more $ on a Smashpot.

Are you running the Telum in the 60mm stroke setting? I’m planning on switching the Telum over from my raaw Madonna that uses a 65mm stroke…
 
Can anyone help me with cable routing. I have a frameset which was originally wireless transmission. I'm routing a cable derailleur.

The frame tube for the cable housing comes down riders left and ends just before the motor. It then has to hop over to the right to exit at the side of the motor, rearward of the motor fixing bolt and then into the chainstay.

I'm guessing the cable stays above the motor fixing bolt? I've managed to get the cable outer in without dropping the motor, but the inner isn't happy. Perhaps I kinked the outer or the radius is too tight.

Any previous experience shared would be appreciated!
 
any internal cable routing experience on the Vala would be appreciated from my side too. I'm dealing with bike rattle and suspect it could be cables - at some point I had to adjust the dropper post, pulled it out (not all the way) and put it back in and suspect that might be causing the rattle. I can't find any info on that from SC
 
I know the rear brake is because I switched the Sram Mavins out to TRP brakes. Not entirely sure about the dropper because I replaced it with my original AXS Reverb. But I would suspect it has internal routing as well at least to the motor area.

Absolutely love this bike. I’ve gone through a set of motor mount bushings, on my 3rd set of tires, on my second set of rear brakes pads, just did a full drivetrain replacement ( amazing lifespan with the T type!) and lastly replaced front and rear wheel bearings.

I’m running the standard 60mm stroke, I wanted it sagged and tuned for that so just ordered it that way for now.

To follow this up I decided to route under the motor fixing bolt as this had smaller radii than going over the top, even though it's a bit longer. Gears working just fine

I might do that as well in the future. The guys at Vorsprung told me that the hub compensates for everything if you enter the stroke at 65mm (Sag, damping, corresponding spring rate…). Do please share your thoughts :)
 
hi all,anybody fitted a powermore to a vala size medium?
mine was supplied with the 150mm cable but its an inch short.
anybody know of a reason why we cant move the powermore mount down to the lower set of mounting holes? i've offered it up and it looks like it all clears the shock.

I wouldn’t do it. I tried that on my new bullit and it did end up barely hitting. Broke the mounting plate and not the battery thank god. Only an $8 fix

the shock hit the battery? is your bullet a medium?

That means you'll get a spring rate that sags deeper and a tune associated with that. I'd be on the 390-430 Sprindex instead of 450-500 if I'd gone with 65mm stroke, and I'm running mine at about 465 to hit ~18mm sag. It's all what you want from the bike though. I'm sure I could have told them 65mm stroke but 18mm sag and been fine, it just felt like unneeded complexity. I chose the Vala instead of waiting for a Bullit for a reason.

The shock is fantastic. My tune input: advanced/expert, mixed speed, steep terrain, balanced feel. I haven't changed the clickers at all since taking delivery. I will experiment at some point to feel the range out, but haven't felt a need to make any adjustments as I'm familiarizing with the shock. A few early observations compared to the Float X:
  • It's more supple (expected) but also poppier. I had to recalibrate my jumps on the first ride.
  • It handles the end stroke impressively well. I haven't felt a bottom out and I've ridden a handful of features that I would reliably bottom with the Float X. It's also more supportive in hard g-out scenarios.
  • Not much to say about mid-stroke. It feels great with plenty of support to push into.
  • The climb switch is eye opening. It's so good.

Excellent feedback, thank you. My observations with the shock on the other bike as well. I just wanted to avoid having to adjust the IFP depth the accompanies the stroke reduction…

i spotted that the holes were marked but assuming it clears the shock i cant really see a problem because all four mounting bushes are the same.

Mine did actually hit, I threw it on early one morning in the dark lol. Went off a jump and heard a big Crack! That was the mounting plate breaking. But the battery seemed intact and has worked fine since .. $8 for a new plate. I got off easy
 
Just curious what setting you guys are riding in, high or low and what is your preference?
