So ... any rumors on when CX Gen 5 Pivot Shuttle AM will come out?

Just wondering if anyone is hearing anything ... really like the demo rides I've done on the 2024 Gen 4 Shuttle AM, but also feel like buying in right at the end of the product line lifetime is maybe not super-wise. Loved the tease in the Bosch reveal videos last fall using a Shuttle with a Gen 5 bolted onto the thing.

I note that Pivot is knocking $2k off the non-Team versions, which is of course always a sign that the next model/release is coming, just would like to know how long I'll be waiting if I decide to wait ...

Any credible reports or signs?

I was wondering the same question. I spoke with a bigger shop in the US and they said they think Pivot is going a different direction from Bosch. I wonder if it will be DJI? CX5 seems like the logical choice.

I have the Shimano equipped EP801 shuttle LT, I was in a similar position as yourself but after deciding on the full team xtr edition, retail £12999, discounted to £7000 I decided to forget the hype about what's next and how long you wait and bought the bike, after riding the new Pivot Shuttle 2025 Bosch CX Race edition I'm glad I did as I really don't see the value in paying an extra £5000 for what is supposed to be better than the previous version, it's not, so how long do you wait and will you like what they come up with in 12 months time, nobody has a crystal ball so decide on what is available rather than dreaming about what isn't.

I heard a rumor that the Shuttle Team and Pro will be getting the Gen 5, but when? With the Team already being sold out and the Pro close, Pivot isn’t going to sit on the Team AM as the only spec for long.

With these two lower models being blown out, there‘s clearly only two options, one being the Race motor(to match the Team) and the other is the Gen 5 Bosch with a newly designed front triangle. I highly doubt it will be another brand.

Keeping the same front triangle and adding the Race motor to an already existing mold makes the most since and most cost effective for Pivot, but is it enough to raise the price back up 3K plus and get people to buy the bike at it’s original pricing?

To me the Race motor won’t be enough for customers to want to pay the premium, but installing the Gen 5 will make people jump at the latest and greatest. What are you really getting? You’re getting the 800w battery, that weighs a 1/2lb lighter than the 750w and a cutout for a display that is still yet to come. The new motor is slightly lighter and it has more of a high pitch wind on the ups and doesn’t make a scrabble noise on the way down.

If Pivot is looking at profit as their bottom line, then it will be the Race, if they care about giving us consumers what we demand, then an updated mold/Gen5 it will be. Orbea updated the mold to fit the Gen 5, so what will it be? Who TF knows

Is the Gen 5 worth paying $3500 more vs picking up the Pro at $7500 today? I’m deciding on the Pro at this bargain of the decade, but another part of me wants to wait and see.

As of now, there aren’t too many others options with the Gen 5 other than Orbea and the Vala. IMHO that lower point spec on the Vala is junk and way overpriced. With these two, you either have the same battery as the Pivot, or the smaller new 600w.

I think Pivot aimed to keep the weight down and if you wanted a burlier bike, the LT was the right bike for you.

I agree that any bike costing over 10,500, should come with carbon wheels. Then again with the Vala, you have to pay 11,500 if you want carbon wheels.

Tomorrow??? A agree, the Vala GX is good/decent spec, but those allow wheels are junk and GX for 9500 is nuts. Kashima means nothing to me.

I don't see this bike riding much different than a Levo, as they are both mullets.

His review echos 99% of people who have ridden the shuttle, so being biased has nothing to do with it. I owned a Rise in the past, so a motor rattle is easily over looked and forgotten with all the other trail chatter.

I guess we all prefer new tech, so that has me undecided.

Yeah, I thought of sticking a 38 on my AM when it was new. But after riding it, I'm glad I stuck with the 36. That's the right fork for that bike.

That was a big consideration for me. In years past, aluminum wheels were like riding on overcooked linguine. When I started running carbon, wheel problems vanished. But I was becoming curious. Some of the wheel manufacturers are now offering really good warranties on their aluminum wheels. Had aluminum wheels improved that much?

My plan with the Pivot was to ride the spec'ed aluminum wheels hard, and when I wrecked them, replace them with something nice. Now I have over 1700 miles on the bike, some of them hard miles, and the rims are holding up nicely. Sure, they have plenty of dings from rocks that get kicked up, but there are no dents. They run as true as I can make them. I've found that these wheels can use a little tune-up periodically. I've adjusted the spokes at 150 miles, 300 miles, 1000 miles, and 1600 miles. Each time, the tensions are a little bit off. I can't really say if this is any different than the carbon wheels I've been running for years, because I've never kept a close eye on the carbons. Since I'm a little wary of aluminum, I check them every few months. My point is, they haven't disappointed me.

I'm pretty sure that the diffences between Gen 4 and 5, if you include the CX Race motor then the new Bosch is actually Gen 6, are negligible and that the average rider simply could not tell the difference, as for the price difference, here in the UK the difference between the 2 is between £5k and £6k, any sane person would find it hard to justify the price difference against the reduced gen4 and the new gen5/6 as in paper the difference only seems to be a firmware and sensor update.

Along with the Santa Cruz Bullit replacement, Crestline, Orbea Wild and Forbidden. My Gen5 bike is shockingly more quiet than my old Gen4 bike.

With a new Levo coming soon and the Rail+ starting to roll out, all your favorite youtube channels will be all about those. For me they are both very cringe and I won't be caught dead riding one.

That's not even a remote possibility. The LT, just came out, so the only update will be almost 3 years from now. The Race motor is pretty silent, so there's that.

It's looking more like the AM Ride and Pro models will be getting the Race motor, as it only makes since with the Team model staying the same and not being discounted. It's highly unlikely that Pivot will update the AM to fit the Gen 5 and have two different front triangle AM's with the Team model still having the Race motor.

The idea is great but it's not practical from a manufacturing stand point because motors and batteries are changing shapes as they are evolving and the market should expect the bulkiness and weight to come down as we progress. Right now, it's a new mold for every new motor.

Your probably right, but sure would be nice for a 24 month cycle or similar. I'm looking forward to MGU Bosch in the future. No more waxing or cleaning of drive trains! Wow that will be the day, go Pinion!
