That is very disappointing as it would seem Bosch have only done half the job. Without the HR being saved as part of the ride stats, only having it on the display little more than a gimmick, I already have that with my Garmin 530 synched to my watch & that does add the hr to the ride recording.

Can‘t see the problem. Does anybody buy/use a HR belt without any other capable device?

The Bosch devices are not (yet) intented to be health & fitness monitors but can be linked at least with iOS apps. For checking and working on your health/fitness there are better devices and software than the on-eBike systems.

yea it seems really lazy.
theres probably a website somewhere that lets you combine the .gpx or whatever files from 2 devices and combine the data.

too much effort for me though
still nice to see an ebike does give a workout, heres the first ride I did since buying a smart watch

On the "up" list, bosch kiox is very easy to pair with any third party heart monitor, much easier than a garmin device.
On the "down", though, its a very long list of things that bosch fails to provide, on a very personal note, for example, their apps are NOT even available on many countries, so that I had to create an EU based account at apple, only to be able to download ebike connect app where I live. Else, they do not support any electric gearing system like shimano di2 or sram AXS, now they introduce an 'auto' mode only to change support level, that is totally unnecessary IMHO, and folks who claim that autoshift is no advantage now rave about this...
I do no care about 'smart' gadgets to control my bike riding characteristics, really would rather not have any and be the only 'smart' one on board, I once was caught by the idea of having a bike with a 'brain', only to find out that such 'brain' was put at the rear end and could see shite of what the trail was about to throw at me, besides, such rear end was really way more flexible than I could accept, soon I got rid of that said specialized bike.
I would consider a 'smart' feature, one that ground referenced if you are riding a trail or not and changed assistance limit from 25 to 32 or even 45 km per hour, but, really, one that will change the level because of a 'head wind' is out of touch to me. Where on earth will a head wind hinder your performance on a trail is a mystery to me... maybe Patagonia or Moab trails...

2024 Mondraker Crafty,
I've just updated. Had to update my flow app before this update showed/was availble to download. Before I did that it said I was on latest FW.
So,
As that update to the bike hit 100% the kiox beeped, showed an error code which I missed because I glanced back at flow app on phone which did come up with a warning saying had to switch bike off and by the time I looked back to read code on the kiox it and the bike had switched off. After 1min of anger and worry I thoughT I'd try just switching bike back on AND it was fine, no error code. I have just been told that the eroor code will still get store in the bikes system until I take it to a shop who can connect to bosch system and clear the code.

BUT after ALL that I am still left with the just the same 4 ride modes as before and no new ride modes to select and not needing heart monitor option it was a wste of time for me and could of ended up having to spend time and money having to pay to have the bike taken to bike shop IF code had not gone away.

Updated my mondraker lever r and got the 112001 error that some others have had.
Mine is because I had fitted the purion 200. I’ve reinstalled the original led controller until I can get to a shop to have it configured properly and all is ok now. Bit miffed that the shop I bought it from (they aren’t local) told me there was no set up required and it was just “plug and play”.
Disappointingly there are no extra modes anyway so was all a bit of a waste of time.

Sport mode is one of the four classic ride modes on Bosch motors. The original list was

1. ECO with 60% support
2. TOUR with 140% support
3. SPORT with 240% support
4. TURBO with 340% support

Those support numbers are correct for the Performance CX motors Gen4 and Gen4 Smart System. Other models did have slightly lower numbers.

Over time Bosch added multiple new ride modes in order to support different rider needs.

1. eMTB, progressive mode with support from 140% to 340% depending on rider input power, developed for MTB enthusiast, gives more control, adds extended boost function
2. eMTB for short cranks (165mm and shorter), progressive mode with support from 140% to 340% depending on rider input power, less power needed to reach higher support
3. TOUR+, progressive mode with support from 60% to 340% depending on rider input power, developed for touring, needs more rider input than eMTB standard to reach higher support levels, supposed to be more economic
4. AUTO, adaptive mode with support from 60% to 340% depending on riding resistance (head wind, climbs), developed for the city/trekking rider, holds moving average speed of the last few seconds without the rider needing to raise own effort, quickly moves up to the higher support levels

So now, with the newest update and only for the smart system motors, there are a total of eight different modes. All need to be installed on the motor either by the bike manufacturer at delivery or later by an LBS. Then these modes will show up in the Flow App and you can select any combination of four from the list. In some cases the manufacturer can restrict the available modes.

For some special motors there are even more modes.

1. Cargo motors have CARGO mode with 400% support and more controlled start behavior even with full load.
2. Race motors have RACE mode, a more aggressive eMTB mode with up to 400% support and longer extended boost.
3. The SX motors have a SPRINT mode with up to 280% support depending on cadence (higher than 100 needed), developed for gravel bikes and city commuters.

So even if you have 175 cranks like a mad man, set your bike profile to short cranks for more POWAH?

Yes, you could do that, but you don’t get more power. You get the same power only with less own effort.

I bet it's just the default profile but with a tiny bit more assist getting upto speed, which you could set yourself anyway?

Not the same. It is a different power curve to compensate for the shorter crank.

I have this firmware on my led control on my Orbea Wild and can not see Sport mode or more than Bosch 4 Factory modes.

Something is missing on your bike configuration.

Have you been to a dealer in the past and let him change one mode for another one?
If so, it could be that the dealer deleted the unwanted mode and installed the other. He should have installed an additional mode. The Bosch motor can hold at least 8 different modes, some sources claim 12. Only 4 of those installed can be selected as active.

Just done the update on mine. 2023 Cube 140 Action Team - got all the new modes and screens

Has anyone ridden yet using the heart rate monitoring?
I was able to pair my apple watch to the kiox before this and it showed my heart rate whilst cycling. Was very nice and worked well but then when it pushed the ride to Strava - no heart rate data.

Which sucked cos I love that it has all the cadence/power etc... that I don't get on an apple workout - but it was annoying that heart rate was shown on the screen and not included at all in the ride data.
Maybe that's fixed with this update?

biggest lesson from this thread is leave any new firmware update for a couple of months before implementing........all the bugs may be ironed out by then!

To be more specific: In order to get Auto mode installed you first need your bike controller (LED Remote or Purion 200 or System Controller) updated to FW version 10.12.3

Sadly, this is not the case on my 2024 Mondraker Crafty which the controller is on 10.12.3 Software and after this update the flow app is still only showing the same 4 power setting the bike came with from the factory last month, which are ECO, TOUR+, EMTB, TURBO. Unless I am missing something because I can see that Cube owners are getting all the power settings and new screens after the update.

I think I mentioned this before. It is possible that some manufactures simply install only four ride modes because until now the rider couldn’t select different modes anyhow.

You will need to see an LBS and have the missing modes installed by him.

The new Flow App gives you only the selection capability, not the installation.

To me coming from the car world, it sounds like Bosch now have different maps on an ecu for delivering different power/torque for various conditions depending on the application.

Cannot wait to try this out and super pleased now that I picked a Bosch equipped ebike in the end. @Rob Rides EMTB your video about your Trek Rail emtb was what convinced me to get my Trek Rail 5

Mate with 2022 crafty updated, no error code and he has now got 3 extra, 7 in total power modes to choose from. So, I've not a clue why I haven't got them (2024 crafty) and why I got an error code and the system/update turned the bike off.

My Mondi Crafty got the extra mode options though after reading the Bosch site descriptions I stuck with those it came with, tweaked to my preferences.

Seems for some unknown reason mine didnt fully update YET says its on latest update so can't delete or try updating the bike again. Spoke with shop and they updated bike they had and again like you and my mate they didnt get an error code warning and did get the extra power modes I should have gotten. I'm not that bothered about extra power modes BUT I am worried my zero miles brand new bike gave an error code during this update. Bike shop told me just to wait until the next flow app update comes out and hopefully that will add the missing power modes. As for the error code, that came up but didnt after switching the bike back on, I won't know IF my bikes motor or electronics has a problem until I can get out to ride, which hopefully will be next month.
