If the motor was replaced after the original 2year warranty date on a 2021 bike then yes it would get another 2 . The battery the same !
If the warranties ran out I’d sent it the bearing man for a service 👌

Ah cool so thats perfect then, i think the motor was replaced 6mths back, as was the battery...but yes i think your right, new bearings all round and it would be a fairly decent bike for the money! thanks for your reply and the advice=)

I’ll be a bit clearer, on the 2021 models you get a 2 year warranty on motor/battery from the date of bike purchase . If after the 2 year warranty expires and the chap purchases a new motor then that will get a 2 year warranty also ! These no rolling warranty on Uk bikes !

Okay yes i get you. i think the guy selling the bike brought it 2nd hand and just managed to get a new motor on the warranty, he brought a new 700wh battery to replace the 500wh on the comps n sold the 500wh...so he will have the receipt for the battery and a warranty i think? probably no warranty on the motor thou!?

Bigger battery is a bonus unless you’d prefer the smaller one ! As it happens I got 2x500w if you want swap 🤘

haha, no i would always want a bigger battery...i am just a bit sceptical about buying as its a lot of cash for a 3rd hand bike and what with all the bad press about the shitty motors, batterys, wear and tear, odd noises, 25kg weight, etc i dunno if i am ready for all the ball aches...i suppose the only way to find out is get involved=/ on the plus side the seller has said its got a newer motor now? would that be right that a newer version motor could be installed?

Yeah it’s the same motor but modified for better durability. I’ve got the same one on my 2020 bike and when the warranty expires in oct I’ll send it to the bearing man for a service and upgrade ! He also gives a warranty for the work he’s done 👍

The 20 and 21 comp is the same bike so when the coil shocks break they send a fox dpx2 air (good upgrade) replacement so it might be a 21 model that hasn’t be used much . I got a dpx2 spare if you want it !
Ask the seller to send you the proof of purchase !

i really am in two minds about buying any of these e bikes, the SL is nice n light but the tiny battery and no power isnt cool imo, the kenevo weighs a ton and is useless on the flat once the power cuts out. i really am lost, i dont think id be able to break a coil shock i really want the bike more for adventures and some fun...althou i havent tried i think i prefer acoustic bikes for downhill/enduro/bikeparks, call me old fashioned but 18/25kg bikes seem obese id love to try one for a few weeks but having to pay £3/10 grand to maybe not like them like so many others seem to be doing (check facebook market place) is making me wonder if they are just not for me=/ derestriction sounded like an option till i read how it destroys the bike even quicker then without...

I got the 2020 model which is the same bike and use it for all rides . The weight ain’t an issue when you’re moving and I feels more stable when things get rough . I’ve deresticted mine with no issues however I only ride on trails not roads so will only be over the limit a handful of time for not very long ! It’s a great bike , had mine for 4yrs in oct and not thinking of changing it .

mate thank you for all the advice and answering all my questions, really appreciate this....and ok sweet you have a kenevo! i think i prefer the kenevo over the levo, but the weight is an issue when your used to bmx's that weigh around 10kg...id like to upgrade some stuff (those brakes are shit n id like a link-glide drivetrain) maybe later but if its working nice id probably just leave it all well alone... have you had any battery, computer or motor issues in the 4yrs? what derestriction you using?

I’ve got both the original Kenevo (‘18) and a KSL, ride mostly steep off piste tech. The weight of the Kenevo disappears when you point it down some janky rock and roots, it’s one of the most fun bikes for descending. The only time I’ve noticed the weight is on flow trails at BPW, it feels like a lump to change direction on flow and for an uplift day I’d always take a regular mtb.

The speed cut out is overblown, it’s because most e-bike riders are too dumb to notice the reason it’s hard when the motor cuts out is because they’re trying to crank in way too high a gear. They wouldn’t pick that gear on a mtb for that speed/gradient, but because their wobbly middle aged ass can’t crank it on an e-bike, it’s the limiters fault.

The KSL feels much closer to a mtb to ride, it’s like you just got a load fitter. The lower power isn’t really an issue unless you’re trying to ride up a downhill trail or keep up with riders on ff e-bikes. These days I pretty much always ride the ksl unless I’m trying to cram a ride into a couple of hours between zoom calls.

The beauty of both is more laps. Whatever I’m riding, I get more descents on an e-bike. Go rent/borrow one and try it, maybe you’ll like it, maybe you won’t.

Good advice but the bit about my wobbly middle aged arse I have to disagree 😂 the trouble with a 16mph cutout for me is I ride jumpy trails which need to be hit OVER 16 mph and it’s a effing pain in my nice arse if the motor stops pulling 6ft before a takeoff ! So derestricted with a ;
A mates got a 22 ksl for sale , I should have a go before it goes , he loves it just doesn’t ride much 👍

I can understand when you are going down hills the heavy full fat Kenevo wont feel quite so cumbersome but its still a tank and like #Lazy says it can be dangerous/annoying when you need to crank in an extra pedal or two to clear a jump/rock or something and the bike just isnt having it, that kinda sucks imo.

I did have a go on a levo on a road and it was ace till i tried to see how fast it would go, as soon as i went past that assistance it just felt like i had hit a head wind of 30mph...I wasnt a good feeling at all...Pretty rubbish imo, hence why i think derestriction might be a good idea.

Lately Ive been riding a Nukeproof Scout which is light (13kg) really fast down hills and over any flowy, jumpy stuff and pretty good up the hills too, it rides lovely on the flat and its almost perfect really and wht id imagine a KSL would feel like.
I live in a hilly area and am never far away from some steep long horrible hills, so recently I have been finding myself thinking it would be dope to have a little assistance on the second or third back up the hills at my local trails which is around a 15 minute section of 10/15degrees straight up hence the ebike enquiries. I think i would go straight for a KSL if it had a better battery/range as I also like to go out for longer chill rides covering maybe 50/60 miles or like 6/7hrs and im sceptical as to how far a KSL would allow before the battery died completely?

I don’t think the ksl range is an issue cos the power and weight is different , I’d have one , only my group is all on FF bikes !
You can get the battery pack extender for the ksl for all day rides !

Ah ok, yea i understand, i might just keep the 700 ya know...and how do they do a power test before? is it via the app and send the screen shot thing?
I would be super interested and much appreciate if you had time to tell me what upgrades you thought would be good to get the bike up to expert spec? ie brakes, shock, forks, drivetrain etc and what derestriction you run?

Imo go;
full 29 Hope wheels , good for the price .
You’ll need to get 29 forks so eithe zeb ,fox or ohlins .
Brakes and drivetrain are ok but upgrade when worn .
Standard bars a too flat for me changed to Renthal 32 rise if I remember!

I really do like 27.5 wheels (im a short ass lol and come from bmx 20" rims bludd) i have a set of Hunt wheels on my stumpy, would they be better than the stock kenevo ones? I saw Hunt do ebike specific wheels but they are way too pricey for me atm...I also have xt drivetrain and brakes on my stumpy which i could switch over they would be better no? And bike already has bergtec 40mm risers so they are sweeet!

We r now having a bit of a problem, the seller said he changed the motor under warranty and his shop "apparently" said that it would still be under warranty if it broke for 2yrs from replacement date, but i think its a 2020 not a 2021 so the warranty is well over now...So now i have to get the serial number and fone specialized ridercare n see what the crack is, as i dont fancy having to pay 900 quid if this new motor goes in 6mths=/ and he doesnt want to budge on the price=/=/
