2024 Strive:ON

Went out again yesterday, didn't start well,after about a minute of the 1st run i got a slash in the side wall of the rear tyre,instant flat,wouldn't seal,so had to put a tube in,but these things happen,there is a lot of flint type rock around on certain runs at my local.
Rest of the ride was great, bike is great to ride,very planted downhill,definitely inspires confidence, the Zeb & the Super deluxe Rct2 are very plush they feel a lot more supple than my fox set up on the Bronson, although newness will have a little effect on that.
All in all super happy that I decided on this bike it really is a superb machine.
It has developed an annoying carbon creak that I'll need to chase down,but that's often the case with carbon bikes.
I'm off to Chatel with the Bronson early July, so might leave it with my lbs that week to find the creak :unsure:😅

Apparently seat post can often be the culprit. Maybe try chucking some extra assembly paste on that?

Nice one,thanks for that,hopefully save me some time,it's always the same with a creak,the sound echos around the frame so it's a pain trying to locate it.
I was pouring water over various contact points throughout the ride,but to no avail.

After assembly my all new canyon Strive ON CFR and the first ride, I noticed that the front wheel is not in line with the rear wheel.

Does anyone have an idea?

I'd be bringing this up directly with Canyon before getting advice or making any home remedies. A bike this new is still well within the warranty and responsibility of the brand
 
Have you tried to redo the floating front axle with the pinch bolt?

Agree it’s most likely a wheel dish issue. I’ve encountered this with stock build wheels before and manufacturer reimbursed me to get it fixed up at the local shop.

Tires of course aren’t perfect either.

So it's normal that the laser doesn't align itself.
Have you measured the gap between the front tire and the inner part of the fork stantions? it should be equal.
If it's not... then as all say it's the dishing of the front wheel.

Not sure if I’m seeing different to you guys but it looks like when the bike is plumb and vertical, one of the wheels is set at a different angle to the other. Assume if you put a level on the back wheel when it’s perfectly level, the front one will be an angle. Not dished evenly one way or the other but leaning over to one side is how it looks to me.

This. Exactly what I meant when I said I don’t understand his pictures. Couldn’t tell what they want to say.
 
Are people wrapping or putting downtube protection on their bikes generally? I've never owned a carbon framed bike before and am worried about rocks flying up and chipping/cracking it. Or am I worrying about nothing here?

I've put Invisiframe on mine,ridewrap also do one.
might also put a downtube protector on as well,as a few others on here are doing,not sure yet,there are no specific ones for the Strive,they are a just generic downtube protector.
A page or 2 back there are links to a few different ones on amazon.
 
Cheers for the reply, but I guess my question was more do carbon frames need to be wrapped, I.e. how susceptible to damage from stones flicking up are they? I could get it wrapped but that will mean no riding it for a few days after it arrives (it's arriving much quicker than expected...)

It depends on how fresh you want to keep the frame looking,all a wrap will do is keep it mostly free of the smaller scuffs & dings,anything more substantial than that & it'll go right through it,which I've done on a few bikes,not much you can do if you have a proper lie down in the undergrowth.
A downtube protector will definitely protect that area better as they are a thicker material, so bang for your buck a much better Investment, but arguably not the prettiest looking things.
No one wants to get even a scratch on their pride & joy,me included,but they are a tool to do a job,a very rough one at that & as such will get damaged.

Thanks Obikaii, much appreciated. That pretty much answers my question, I'm not overly worried about a scratch or two, it's the bigger impacts on the downtube I worry about so just a downtube protector is what I need I think.

Its about time someone invents a personal force field for around the bike & me so I can fall off whenever I want to & not worry about it :unsure: 😅
 
Rocky Mountain powerlpaly altitude down tube protection look good wider than the nuke proof that rob did use, but they only sell it as a kit with the engine protection also.
Maybe I'm going to design one and then 3D print it.

I switched straight to Schwalbe tires. Both at 2.5.
Gap between the front tire and the inner part of the fork stantions is equal.

The limit sucks 😔
 
Speed limit is my only negative point on this bike. So hard to pedal to the right speed befor the jump.
I know if I need to pedal it's because the place is shaped wrong. but it's the place just next to my house with some flat area just before the jump's.
 
My other bike were not limited at 15 mph (25km/h) my last bike was shimano with USA 20mph setup I was also over the speed where i get some assistance from the motor for jump but it felt much lighter to pedal than the Bosch. the Bosch feel like i'm dragging an anchor. My best bike for that was one older one with chip and assistance until 30mph. best bike for jumping. As soon as something come out for those Bosch bike wit magnet on rim i will buy it to remove the speed limit. It feel like riding an MX with only 3 gear working
 
My Strive is coming on tomorrow, probably in the same shipment as Winryn's. I've ordered tubeless valves but realised I've ordered 40mm instead of 60mm. Has anyone managed to get 40mm to fit or do I need to change them? I saw a picture of yours further back Hansfran, is that 40mm or 60mm?

I have 40mm. It's okay. But better go for 60mm because of the magnet in the rear wheel.
